Chapter 188: Father...

"When will Karl be here?"

Felix sat back and asked Lucas who was munching on snacks Anne shared with him.

"Who knows? But I promise I am gonna break his nose if he comes late at night when I go to sleep."

Lucas said and Felix sighed, chuckling. He obviously knows Lucas isn’t serious...

...He isn’t serious, is he?

Sometimes, Felix can’t figure it out because Lucas always looks so serious.

"I hear footsteps outside."

Suddenly, Lucas sprang up and mumbled, walking toward the closed door.

Just as Lucas stood behind the door, there came the knocks on the door, in a rhythm.

Lucas smiled, but then opened the door just as he came back to his poker face.

Obviously...

He knows it’s Karl outside just by the footsteps.

Lucas didn’t want that bastard to know he is happy just because he sees him...even though he actually is...

As expected, entered Karl, a cape covering his face with its shadow.

"Congratulations! You are a father! Oh...I mean, again!"

Karl took off the cape and said to Felix as he grinned.

Felix shook his head while laughing, then letting Karl sit next to him as Anne was already making space for him there.

As soon as he sat down, Anne ran to him, staring at him excitedly.

"Haha, Come here."

Karl chuckled while looking at Anne’s sparkling eyes and let her come and sit on his lap which Anne immediately took the chance to.

She just loves him.

All of them.

She is now very happy all of her favourite people are now in one place.

It’s going to be fun!

Well...at least for Anne.

Since others were there to babysit, only she was looking forward to partying...

But...being together like this still is definitely fun.

It’s really been a long time since they’ve hung out together freely like this...

Felix was still a little upset about the previous confession about Anne from Karl but it didn’t really bother him now anymore. Maybe it was not that serious at the moment.

Or, he just let himsef get carried away with other thoughts which eventually made him familiar and friendly with Karl again.

He would forgive Karl for that one.

"Don’t worry. I know Asher is tired so I will visit him later."

Karl said to Lucas who squinted his eyes as he asked about Asher.

"He is okay for now. He needs time to recover. But, I did use a jol flower on him. So, recovery will be fast."

Lucas said and Felix, confused, asked for an explanation as to what is a jol flower.

He had never heard of that name before.

"It is a magic flower that has the ability to heal one’s injuries four times faster than the normal time. It is not often used as it is rare and expensive. I had one that Karl once gifted to me. I kept it till I will need it in the future. So...It was needed."

Lucas said and Felix, dumbfounded, felt his jaw drop to the floor as he stared at Lucas.

’How many things had he done for us? At this point, I should just hand him all my savings. His dedication is just...I can’t believe I got such a skilled person close to me....’

Felix was really grateful.

Literally....

Felix got through with this all thanks to Lucas and Karl.

How could he ever be thankful enough?

"Thank you."

Felix mumbled out and Lucas chuckled, then patted Felix’s head as if he was consoling a child.

"No worries. I am happy you are finally in a good place. I will obviously try to do my best to help you. Isn’t that what friends do? So, don’t say thank you."

Lucas said but then raised his voice, hitting Felix’s arm in a teasing manner after that.

"Don’t say just thank you, pay me well you bastard."

Lucas said and Felix sighed, nodding.

"Obviously. Don’t worry."

Felix said and Lucas chuckled as the room then fell into the silence before Karl spoke up again.

"Ah, right! What is my granddaughter’s name? Have you decided on one?"

’Hng...’

Asher let out a groan as he turned around, feeling a sharp pain in his abdomen.

’It still feels unreal. The baby...I made her.’

Asher gently caressed the sleeping baby’s forehead, then staring at her for a long time.

Asher lost count how many times he had sighed.

So...this is his life now.

’I am so happy.’

Asher, feeling stuffed as he had been laying down for a long time, wanted to get up but the pain held him back.

So, he stared at the ceiling, his memories flooding in.

’Felix cried...’

Asher could still see the image of Felix who started sobbing when they first met after the surgery.

’He looked exhausted...’

This pregnancy was a big risk they followed through.

But now everything seems fine, Asher thought it’s time to celebrate.

They need to be happy now.

Asher looked at the baby again, then smiled as he gently touched the baby’s face again. He really can’t resist the urge. The baby was tiny and adorable.

’Your sister named you Bella. I hope you like your name.’

Asher’s mind was still somewhat confused as to how he even managed to create this baby, inside of his body.

Like...how?

Well...he knows how. but still...how?

He felt ridiculous that he was doubting himself when he had created a whole another human inside of him.

Isn’t he...great?

The tiny little baby and its steady little breath, the clenched tiny fingers...

’So adorable...’

’I love you so much Bella. And your father too. I mean...the other father-...right...won’t it be confusing to call both of us father? How would I and Felix know who you and Anne are calling for?’

Asher, now out of blue, imagined Bella grownup, calling them, but him and Felix getting confused as to which father she was talking to.

Well, Anne calls him father Ash. It could be followed by Bella too, right? This problem will be solved then...

But, isn’t it too long?

Father Ash...

Asher suddenly wasn’t too pleased to hear his child call him that..

Father and Father Ash...

It’s unfair that his children call him by his name while Felix is called just ’father’.

He wants to be called just ’father’ too.

At least by Bella... if Anne finds it uncomfortable.

’I have to talk to Felix about it too.’

Asher sighed again, then slowly turned around to find a comfortable position to sleep on.

’I hope it’s not very greedy of me to have some expectations when it comes to Bella..."
