My Dear Duke(BL) -
Chapter 156: Lucky
Chapter 156: Lucky
Once Asher came back, he settled next to the duke, laying down and hugging him.
"I am sorry Asher."
Felix muttered.
"Mmm..."
Asher mumbled.
"I will be more thoughtful."
"You should be."
"Mmm..."
Asher and Felix stayed in the silence a little more before Felix spoke up again, quite hesitant.
"Mm...Did you tell Anne...I-"
"No. No one said anything to her. She believes you are just sick...like how you are in that certain time of the month."
"Ah...That’s good..."
Felix said, then going into silence once again.
"Duke, I know you don’t want to talk about what you had as a wrong memory. I didn’t get to say this before but...actually, I feel like what you saw wasn’t a hallucination but something else..."
Asher said, snuggling closer to the duke till the duke put his arms around him.
"...What do you mean?"
Felix asked.
"Okay, so tell me. How do you know Nala? What do you know about her? Why did you mention her?"
Asher asked, trying not to trigger the duke yet to get the information out of him.
"It must have been a coincidence that I knew about someone named Nala. What I saw was fake anyway."
Felix said without much thought.
"Even if it is fake, just tell me, what do you know about Nala?"
"Do you know her very well?"
"No."
Asher spat out.
"Has she ever...said anything bad to you?"
Felix, hesitant yet seemingly curious, asked Asher who then turned to him as if surprised.
"...Yeah, all she had ever said to me were bad things."
"...Had she ever called you a low life?"
"...Yeah."
"....More things like...not good enough? Not suitable...for me?"
"Yeah."
Asher nodded, then questioned the duke.
"Duke, so, how do you know? I had never told you about her."
"Right...I also wondered why you didn’t tell me."
Felix said.
"When?"
"...In the hallucination."
"So...who told you that? Since you wondered why I didn’t tell you, then it can’t be me who told you about her, right?"
Asher asked, now gathering pieces.
"...It was Anne."
"Miss Anne? How does she know?"
Asher didn’t expect her to be that person even if it was in a fake scenery. So, safe to say, he was now interested.
"That’s what I also wanted to know. Since she knew...a lot of things she shouldn’t know."
"...Duke, maybe you didn’t hallucinate. Maybe you are foreseeing something?"
"...Even so, I wish it was just a hallucination."
"Why? Was it that serious? What else does she know?"
Asher asked and the silence kind of spoke for itself.
"..."
"Can’t you tell me? I want to know too."
"You will not believe me."
Felix complained.
"...Duke, is that how you think of me?"
Asher pouted.
"I am not saying it like that. I mean...what I am going to say is not something expected."
"What is it?"
Asher asked.
Felix left a sigh, then muttering it out, clearly knowing Asher was going to look exactly like how he is seeing him right now.
"What if I say I saw Anne accidentally or purposefully, saying she knows about the deal we made first. And...what we did for that deal."
"...Wait, really?"
"Mm...I wanted to know how she knows and she refused to answer me so we...well, I, argued."
"So, did you send me to talk to her and ask her about it? Is that why you asked if she said anything?"
"Kind of..."
"Haa..."
Asher sighed, kind of confused yet amused.
Wasn’t that some interesting...hallucination?
It can’t be a hallucination if it has real things, right?
Asher stared at the duke who seemed deep in thoughts. Asher then buried his face in the duke’s chest, taking a deep breath as he then mumbled.
"It’s alright. Let’s try to ignore this altogether. Let’s just move on like nothing happened. Till.....something like this happens again. Don’t overthink anything. You are never alone."
Asher said, his voice getting lower and lower as he tried not to cry. He had been holding himself back after he felt he shouldn’t beg. But now the duke was within his reach and he could feel his heart beat, his scent, then the movements, he felt emotional again.
He would not let something like that happen again.
He would always be close to the duke and would be more aware of the things happening around.
"Duke, I will always listen to whatever that’s bothering you. So, in the future, don’t leave me to just worry about you. Share it all with me. Got it?"
"Yeah..."
"Let’s sleep now."
"Okay."
"Duke, I was going to ask you something. Did you realise that I had never called you by your name?"
"Right...you haven’t."
Felix said.
"Do you want me to call you by your name? If you are uncomfortable, we can stop this talk."
Asher quickly said as he felt the duke’s heart beat fasten.
"No. I...like if you can call me by my name. It’s...good."
"So what’s your name?"
Asher asked and Felix looked at him, obviously surprised.
Kind of offended too...
"...You don’t know?"
"I know but you never told me, you idiot."
"Oh...I..."
"Why are you hesitating?"
"I am not..."
"Don’t tell me you are shy to tell me your own name?"
"What, no!"
Felix mumbled.
"Then what’s your name?"
"Felix."
"Felix..."
As soon as the duke said, Asher repeated, giggling.
"Now I can finally scream your name... when we are doing that."
Asher whispered again and saw the duke coughing and blushing as he looked away.
’So cute. I am pretty sure he is going to blush like this everytime I call his name.’
Asher thought. He wouldn’t always call him by name. Because...it might make him lose that feeling too early as he get used to it. He will use this to call him only when necessary and when they are gone. And..when he needs to make the duke blush.
’It’s good I figured out that calling his name is making him blush more than when I grab his butt. What a cutie...How can I not love him?’
It makes Asher want to mess with him even more.
Sigh...he got himself a good one, didn’t he?
’I am so lucky.’
