Seeing Asher so persistent, Felix didn’t know what he actually felt. It seemed like Asher did not think he would be a burden. "I think you know I am angry about this. Duke, you do know you’re hurting all of us who worry about you by keeping us away, right?"

Asher asked, his hand again caressing the duke’s face.

Felix nodded, then blankly stared at Asher, feeling complicated. He honestly felt overwhelmed.

"Duke, promise me you don’t scare us like that again."

Asher frowned and said in a firm tone.

"...I am sorry. I will be more thoughtful in the future."

Felix, feeling guilty and ashamed, nodded as he mumbled out after some hesitation.

"...Mm...Then rest here. I will bring something to eat."

Asher got up as he said, knowing the duke had not eaten for almost three days now.

But, just as he got up, the duke tried to stop him.

"No need. I am not hungry."

Felix said.

"But you need to eat. So just stay here. And...if this door is locked when I come back, I won’t hesitate to climb up all the way to that window. If you don’t want me to get hurt, then be obedient okay?"

Felix was taken aback by Asher’s words that felt somewhat threatening yet worrying at the same time.

Asher...had suddenly changed a lot.

When Asher’s threat came, Felix nodded his head so fast that Asher couldn’t help but smile before leaving for the kitchen.

Since it was late at night and only Mary was left around, Asher could only ask her to make or give the food she made.

Asher was pretty sure Mary must have still made dinner for the duke along with for Miss Anne even though the duke had not accept any food for the past few days.

’Right...Miss Anne...I hope she ate and slept well. I was too focused on the duke and couldn’t visit her tonight.’

Asher suddenly remembered as went to check the kitchen since if there was food, he wouldn’t need to wake Mary up again.

’Yeah, it’s here.’

Asher found the food that was saved for the duke and grabbed the whole plate, then walking back to the duke’s room.

’He wouldn’t lock the door again even after I told him not to do that, would he?’

Asher looked at the plate in his hand and thought as he walked through the hallway to the duke’s room. He knew the duke would listen to him.

Or...he wasnt that sure.

Because he felt his heart thump as he walked toward the door.

He feared it would be locked again when he tried to open it.

But thankfully, it was not locked.

Asher smiled and went inside, then gave the duke the plate full of food which the duke took one glance at, then at him.

"I don’t want to eat."

Felix said.

"Then do you want me to feed you?"

Asher grinned, tilting his head as he asked in a somewhat shy tone that sounded too shy for something like feeding. Asher had always been shameless and did all kinds of things he should be shy of which he wouldn’t be about. So this was...weird. He was definitely plotting something.

"...I am not hungry."

Felix mumbled again.

"...Let me feed you."

Asher held the plate, then carefully picked up food into a spoon and moved it to the duke’s mouth which...didn’t open.

"So you locked your mouth too?"

Asked Asher, his tone mixed with disappointment and amusement.

"It’s night. I don’t want to eat now."

"So you really don’t want to eat?"

"No.."

"You want to starve forever?"

"Asher...I will eat later it’s midnight and..."

"Okay. Then one bite. I won’t ask you to eat again."

"Okay then."

Asher shoved a big mouthful of food into the duke’s mouth and watched as the duke finally chewed and swallowed.

"Isn’t it tasty?"

Asher asked with a weird smile. When Felix saw that, he looked suspiciously at Asher, yet answered him too.

"...Mmm.."

After that, Felix stared at Asher in confusion as Asher silently watched him. Why? Why was he suddenly silent?

Felix was taken aback when he heard his own stomach suddenly growl. He immediately looked at Asher, who was already holding the food piled up spoon close to him, smiling.

"You are hungry. It doesn’t matter if it’s midnight. So don’t argue and eat, because your stomach doesn’t care about time either. Here."

Asher said as he then easily fed the duke another mouthful of food. Felix silently ate because well...his stomach wasn’t lying...

He was quite embarrassed as if Asher saw him naked. What’s so serious? His stomach growled...It’s normal.

’It’s normal till I remember I said I am not hungry. Haa...so embarrassing. I was not actually hungry though...’

Asher already knew the duke was embarrassed since his face clearly showed it. So he didn’t push further and gave the plate to him which he accepted without any fuss.

’It was easy.’

Asher watched as the duke hesitantly ate while wondering why he suddenly wanted to eat more.

Maybe...the taste of the food and the thought of his stomach grumbling made him just shut up and eat it.

Alas, he had not eaten for days so...he should eat.

Felix ended up eating everything, then getting embarrassed again when Asher grinned and praised him.

"Good boy. I knew you could eat all of them."

Asher said and Felix covered his face in embarrassment, then complained.

"Why are you treating me like a kid?"

"I am not."

Asher said but then decided he wanted to mess with the duke and patted the duke’s head.

"I was telling the truth. You are a good boy. So..."

Asher shrugged, now teasing the duke who was suddenly feeling refreshed after the meal and Asher’s teasing.

Then, following a silence, there was a mumble Asher couldn’t help but be very happy about.

"Asher...I...love you."

Felix suddenly said, making Asher giggle as he took back the empty plate.

"Me too."

Asher got up, leaned in and kissed Felix on the forehead, then left the room so he could put the plate back.

While Asher was gone, Felix got himself a glass of water, slowly emptying it as he thought of Asher and everything he had done for him.

’Haa...Can I fall for him more than this? I feel like, now, I...love him more than I ever did.’
