As Tang Xue Mei lay in bed, she initially dismissed the sensation of wetness as a minor inconvenience. She was tired but didn’t think much of it until the cramps began, gradually becoming more intense and frequent. Her concern grew, and she mentioned it to Feng Shihan.

"I think my water just broke.."

Tang Xue Mei stood up staring at the wet sheets and feeling the coldness in her pajamas.

Feng Shihan, noticing her discomfort, immediately took action. "Let’s make sure everything is ready for the hospital. I’ll check the hospital bag. Can you change your clothes? Wait I’ll get you a new set of clothes."

Feng Shihan quickly walked to Tang Xue Mei’s room and picked out some of the maternity gowns his mother had recommended.

When he got back to the room, he found Tang Xue Mei hold the wall in pain.

"Auntie Gu!! Please come this way!"

Feng Shihan shouted as he rushed to where Tang Xue Mei was.

"Can you sit down or do you want to stand?? I have to change your clothes.."

Tang Xue Mei nodded and choose to stand as Feng Shihan quickly changed her clothes and cleaned her legs with some wet wipes.

"Young master you sent for me? Oh God is the young madam going into labor? I’ll get the hospital bag from the nursery.."

Tang Xue Mei held her waist as she groaned, she felt her her uterus, her pelvis and her entire body was on fire.

"Let’s go downstairs, do you want me to carry you or don you want to walk? Fuck it I’ll carry you.."

"No let me walk it off..."

Feng Shihan gently held her hand as he helped her downstairs, An Yu and butler Wang were already downstairs when they got there.

"Young madam are you feeling??"

"I feel like shit!"

"Fuck! When are we going? I feel like I’m going to give birth here!"

Feng Shihan’s lips twitched as he soothed Tang Xue Mei.

"Young master I’ve got it.."

Feng Shihan nodded and together, they reviewed the contents of the bag. They ensured it included all the essentials: clothes for Tang Xue Mei, items for the babies, and other necessities. As they prepared, Tang Xue Mei’s pain increased, making her breathing more labored.

Feng Shihan’s worry grew. "We should head to the hospital now."

They left for the hospital as soon as they could. The drive was uncomfortable for Tang Xue Mei, who was now experiencing more pronounced pain.

"Fuck! Fuck!"

Feng Shihan soothed Tang Xue Mei while An Yu’s lips twitched, this was the first time he had heard Tang Xue Mei curse so much in one day.

Upon arrival at the hospital, Tang Xue Mei was quickly admitted. Dr. Jeong quickly examined her and confirmed that she was indeed in labor.

The initial stages seemed to progress normally, but as time went on, complications arose. The doctors determined that a C-section was necessary for the safety of both Tang Xue Mei and the babies.

"No, I want to push...I can push..."

The news brought more anxiety.

Feng Shihan, who had been anxiously waiting, was informed of the situation and reassured that the procedure was the best course of action.

"No, I want to push, I can push.."

Tang Xue Mei pleaded as Dr. Jeong pulled down his nose mask.

"Xue Mei, please calm down...I can assure you that both you and your babies will make it out. You just have to trust me.."

As Tang Xue Mei’s delivery progressed, the procedure took two and a half hours. Throughout the long hours, Feng Shihan was a bundle of nerves, pacing back and forth anxiously in the waiting room. His footsteps echoed in the quiet corridor as he wrestled with worry and hope, glancing at the clock every few minutes.

The wait felt interminable, each minute stretching longer than the last. He was lost in thought, his mind racing with fears and hope.

"Do you want some water? The doctor told you not to put too much strain in your leg. You’ve been standing for 2 hours now.."

An Yu sighed as he handed the bottle of water to Feng Shihan.

"It’s been two hours already?"

Feng Shihan swept his hands through his hair as he stared at the doors anxiously.

"She’ll be alright, you don’t have to worry.."

Inside the operation room, Tang Xue Mei’s eyes glistened as she heard their cries for the first time.

"Congratulations, it’s a boy and a girl, the boy being older by 5 seconds.."

Tang Xue Mei smiled as she stared at the babies in the nurses arms. Tears rolling out of her eyes when she saw the tiny arms and feet.

"We’re going to clean them now, we’ll hand them over to you shortly."

Tang Xue Mei felt a mirage of emotions as she stared at the ceiling, she had done it, she had finally done it.

"Congratulations sir, you can go in and see your wife now.."

As Tang Xue Mei cradled her newborns, a sudden wave of breathlessness overcame her. She felt her chest tighten and her breaths come in short, ragged bursts. Panic gripped her as she struggled to get enough air.

Feng Shihan noticed immediately. "Xue Mei, are you alright?" His voice was filled with concern as he beaconed to one of the nurses to take the babies.

Tang Xue Mei’s face went pale, and she struggled to respond. "I... I can’t breathe properly. Shihan I can’t...b-breathe"

Feng Shihan anxiously held Tang Xue Mei as the doctors immediately came inside the room and took action.

"Sir I’ll have to ask you to step out of the operation room.."

One of the nurses adjusted the oxygen mask on Tang Xue Mei’s face, while another doctor assessed her condition.

"She’s experiencing a reaction to the anesthesia," the doctor said, his tone focused and controlled. "We need to monitor her closely and provide supplemental oxygen."

Outside Feng Shihan paced back and forth, his heart racing with worry.

The team worked efficiently, adjusting her position and providing oxygen to help her breathe more easily. Gradually, Tang Xue Mei’s breathing began to stabilize, though she remained weak and shaken.
