Tang Xue Mei packed her things and sighed in a few months she wouldn’t be able to come out to the company often.

She needed to steady her position so she could let Ming Beicheng run it on her behalf while she was away.

Elena frowned as she stared at the cafe, why were they back there again?

"I still need you to meet my boss.."

"She’s no different from our boss, the young madam is smart and not just some rich family daughter."

"Almost makes me believe you’re in love with her.."

"He seems like a scary person?"

"He is.." Ken chuckled Feng Shihan’s methods at times we’re terrifying others times he was just a really nice guy.

"So why do you work for him then?"

Elena asked she could also see he had deep respect for his boss, it’s not something one sees everyday.

"He saved me, took care of me, he’s like my older brother. I respect him very much.."

Elena shook her head with a smile no wonder he agreed to sleep with her even though that was never his intention.

He was loyal to boss and if it meant giving his body so his wife could be protected. He was willing to do so.

Ken smiled but didn’t say anything he knew Feng Shihan more than Elena ever would and he knew the boss never forget the littlest of kindness.

Tang Xue Mei walked in, wearing a black chiffon dress with matching heel, she immediately stole everyone’s attention as they stared at the beauty that had just walked in.

"That must be her huh?"

Ken nodded, Tang Xue Mei surveyed the place until she found Ken. Smiling and with An Yu begins her they walked to the table.

"Ken?"

Tang Xue Mei pulled a chair and sat down immediately calling for the waiter.

"Young madam, meet Elena..she’s a seasoned hit woman.."

Tang Xue Mei blinked as she stared at Ken, was he planning on killing someone? But even if he did, why did he introduce her to the killer?

"She’s here to take care of those assassins"

Tang Xue Mei frowned she thought after the car fiasco she wouldn’t be attacked anymore.

Elena frowned and Tang Xue Mei shook her head.

Elena looked at Tang Xue Mei, intrigued by the resilience in her demeanor. She could sense that there was more to her story, something deeper that spoke of strength and fortitude.

"Alright I’ll take care of those assassins, if you want them alive I can also do that..."

Tang Xue Mei eyes widened if they were alive then she could know who hired them.

"Then keep them alive, I want to know who hired them..."

Elena nodded she didn’t usually keep her targets alive but she felt she needed to do so this time.

"Thank you Elena..."

Tang Xue Mei smiled sincerely, she was doing everything in her power to protect her loved ones it was also nice to feel protected once in a while.

Ken nodded he also needed to check Mrs Tang’s stats when he got back as well.

"I also need to get going, you can find your way back to the hotel.."

Ken stood up and placed the bill on the table before leaving.

Elena watched as he left the cafe with a dark expression.

Tang Xue Mei sighed as she laid down on the bed, she had managed to dragged her body down for dinner but right now it was as though she couldn’t even move her limbs.

"We’ve been working too hard babies.."

Tang Xue Mei covered the blanket and closed her eyes for some rest, she felt if she had one day off from everything, her body would be back to normal.

Few hours later she stirred on the bed, her body feeling heavy and uncomfortable. She groggily opened her eyes, only to be met with the darkness in the room.

The clock on her nightstand read 12:47 PM, the digits glowing softly in the darkness.

As she laid there, she became aware of a throbbing pain in her head, like a drumbeat in her temples. Her skin felt hot and clammy, and her mouth was dry and parched.

Tang Xue Mei tried to sit up, but a wave of nausea washed over her, making her fall back onto the pillows.

The room was quiet, the only sound the distant hum of the city outside her window. Tang Xue Mei’s eyes scanned the room, taking in the familiar surroundings after she had turned on the lights.

Tang Xue Mei’s gaze fell on the glass of water on her bedside table. She reached out a shaky hand, managing to grasp the glass and brought it to her lips. The cool water was a welcome relief, but it did little to alleviate the burning sensation in her throat.

As she lay back down, Tang Xue Mei realized she was feverish. It seems everything had finally caught up to her.

Sighing this was one way to get relaxation.
