Ming Beicheng gave An Yu a look what exactly had he done to anger the the beast.

"He’s a wife slave, if she vouches for you he’ll have no choice but to obey.."

An Yu nodded he knew but still Feng Shihan looking at him like a traitor made him sad.

"He treated me like his younger brother, he wanted to give me a home but I betrayed him, even left him to die...."

"If he hated you so much he would have found men to kill you long before now. He still thinks of you as a little brother but there are some wounds that need time to heal."

Ming Beicheng walked back into the car, he was sure Feng Shihan wouldn’t let Tang Xue Mei leave again so he would head to the company to address Luo Yun and the others.

"I’m heading out, you should head up as well.."

The elevator ride was quiet, Tang Xue Mei looked at Feng Shihan quietly, he had a different kind of expression on his face, one she had rarely seen.

"Why did you choose him?"

"I didn’t want a bodyguard that behaved like a puppet.."

"Choose another one..."

"Why? What happened between you and An Yu?"

Feng Shihan didn’t say anything only pursing his lips in annoyance.

"If it upsets you I’ll find another one...."

Tang Xue Mei sighed if Feng Shihan couldn’t accept An Yu, then him being her bodyguard would lead to problems.

"Do you really want him to be your bodyguard that bad?"

"He fits the job.." Tang Xue Mei lowered her head a small smile on her face, this was her tactic, retreat first and then rush back with full force.

"His he a terrible fighter?"

Feng Shihan shook his head, An Yu was an amazing fighter and if he hadn’t betrayed him he would have gladly left him to protect Tang Xue Mei.

But having lost that trust, he feared An Yu would betray Tang Xue Mei when she needed him the most.

"Can he be forgiven?"

"I have no grudges against him, I have a scar to be remembered of his betrayal. I just don’t want him close to you. He’s a kid who finds it hard to pick the side most important to him. I don’t need that kind of indecisiveness.

"Then let’s watch him, you can have your eyes on him 24/7 and you can have your men protect me from the shadows just in case.."

Feng Shihan gave her a subtle glare, he wondered why she wanted him to consider An Yu much.

"He needs your help Shihan, back then when you knew him he was still a kid, to you now he’s still a kid. The organization he works for needs to be stopped, they’re child trafficking, children every year and training them to bodyguards, assassins and hired killers. He doesn’t want them to end like him, so let’s try our best to help him.."

Feng Shihan sighed and nodded he knew about the organization but An Yu’s betrayal made him ignore everything and anything about it.

"You can keep him and concerning the organization I’ll look into it.."

Tang Xue Mei smiled was it this easy to persuade someone or did Feng Shihan just let her have her way? She guessed it was probably the latter.

"The bag smells so good quickly put me down it’s taking for forever to get to the office.."

Feng Shihan tightened his hold not allowing her to come down, they had already gotten to the office what was the fuss about.

"Impatient little thing, we’re already at the office.."

Tang Xue Mei blinked only to see Feng Shihan opening the door.

"I thought we were still in the elevator.."

She scratched her head and prompted Feng Shihan to put her down.

She walked around the office while Feng Shihan set out the food, he had made to get the iced ginger tea Tang Xue Mei asked for earlier on.

So he went to the fridge to get it.

"All done, come eat.."

Tang Xue Mei slowed her steps checking through the glass to see if An Yu was around.

"Are you waiting for him?"

Tang Xue Mei nodded she considered An Yu ad her family and it did not feel right eating with out him.

"Go find him then.."

Tang Xue Mei’s eyes brightened as she looked at Feng Shihan, could it be that he was finally starting to accept An Yu.

She shook her head it wouldn’t be that easy but at least he allowed An Yu to enter the office.

Tang Xue Mei walked out of the office only too see An Yu standing by the elevator.

She had a feeling Feng Shihan must have spotted him or else he wouldn’t allow her to go find him.

"Why are you mopping around here? To scared to come in? Afraid your older brother will scold you or worst ignore you.."

"He’s not my older brother..."

"Then there’s nothing for you to be afraid then? Besides you’re my subordinate he wouldn’t do anything to hurt you so you have nothing to worry about.."

An Yu sighed he wasn’t afraid of hurting him he actually preferred that what he was afraid off was Feng Shihan not doing anything.

"He’s a good man deep down somewhere, he helped you before and he’s still willing to help you. All you have to do is show him you’re sincere and all grown up, he still views you as a little kid.."

"He hates me, any act of kindness he shows towards me is because of you. But I don’t mind I’ll be okay if he doesn’t ignore me.."

Tang Xue Mei sighed she had a feeling that was exactly what Feng Shihan was going to do.

"Let’s go.."

Tang Xue Mei walked into the office, An Yu following behind her, his nervous expression made Feng Shihan chuckle a bit.

"You’ve wasted enough time, come eat before it gets cold."

Tang Xue Mei eyes brightened in delight it was finally time to eat.

Tang Xue Mei passed the chopsticks to An Yu and another to Feng Shihan.

"Let’s eat!"

Tang Xue Mei picked up the honey glazed chicken wing, it looked so delicious it made her mouth water.

She was in her own world happily stuffing her face with food, Feng Shihan didn’t bother to touch the food and instead stared at Tang Xue Mei while An Yu stared at him.

Being this close to Feng Shihan he didn’t have the heart to eat and played with his food.

"We don’t play with it food around here, it’s either you start stuffing your face or you get out.."

An Yu slowly brought the rice to mouth and started eating, Tang Xue Mei smiled and passed more meat to his plate.

"You should focus more on eating."

"I am or do you want to add more meat to Yuyu’s plate?"

"..."

"..."

"No.."

"And can you not call me Yuyu.."

An Yu near choked on the food when she called him Yuyu, it was also a name he never wanted to hear again.

"It’s such a cute name.."

"I’m a grown man.."

Tang Xue Mei chuckled he was indeed a grown man and it was time a certain someone understood that.

Feng Shihan’s eyes finally landed on An Yu with scrutiny, Tang Xue Mei was right he was indeed grown.

Last time he saw him, his features were less refined now he had turned out to be very handsome.

"Shihan stop staring.."

"Focus on your food..."

"I’m already done, we should get dongpao pork later oh can auntie Gu make tarts?"

Feng Shihan raised his hand resting his chin on it. A small smile on his lips, ever since she got pregnant all she ever thought about was food.

"The only thing you think about us food these days. You might gain excess weight..."

Tang Xue Mei thought her chin and her eyes widened it wasn’t as thin as it used to be.

She had been eating way too much lately.

"You can’t go on diet, you can only gain weight..."

"You’re not helping!"

"Even if you weighed 100 pounds I’ll still find you attractive.."

An Yu choked on his food, this time they were trying to kill him with affection.

"Those words aren’t consoling anymore, I would rather not gain that 100 pounds.."

Tang Xue Mei sighed depressedly as she looked at all the empty plates she had eaten.

"Do you still want to eat dongpao pork and tarts later..."

Tang Xue Mei nodded with invisible tears in her eyes, her heart said no but the two little ones in her tummy said yes.

"Do you want to to make it?"

"You know how to make tarts?!"

Feng Shihan nodded he was the one who took care of Feng Shiyan after all and little kids liked sweets after all.

"That’s right I can make tarts and other baked treats.."

"How come you haven’t said this before!"
