My daily life is not peaceful
Chapter 10 - Who Can Handle This?

Chapter 10 : Who Can Handle This?

Early the next morning, as usual, Luo Yun was woken by the alarm in his head. After washing up and having a breakfast of a few slices of bread with milk, he hopped into Nangong Nayue’s car to head to school.

By the way, the car Luo Yun rode in was the latest model supercar.

As Nangong Nayue put it, if she didn’t spend all the money she earned, there’d be nowhere to keep it.

This made Luo Yun, whose funds were tightly controlled, extremely envious.

The dull life of the rich!

But thinking about it, it made sense.

Besides her day job as an English teacher, Nangong Nayue also served as a national Demon Hunter, earning two salaries. Add to that the freelance missions she took on, and she had more money than she could spend.

If not for Luo Yun’s self-discipline, he’d probably have been pampered into a plump, spoiled mess by now.

“I say, Nayue…”

Before he could finish the word, Luo Yun felt a wave of murderous intent wash over him.

He quickly corrected himself. “Big Sis Nayue, aren’t you afraid of the traffic police driving like this?”

“Don’t underestimate me, kid. Your big sister got her driver’s license right after high school graduation, and I haven’t made a single mistake since.”

Nangong Nayue’s tone carried a hint of pride.

Luo Yun, however, wasn’t entirely reassured.

Having had his own high-speed driving experiences, he was always extra cautious.

Ten minutes before the morning bell, Luo Yun and Nangong Nayue finally arrived at school.

“Pay attention in class. Don’t let your mind wander.”

After her lecture, Nangong Nayue, clutching her teaching materials, headed to the staff room.

But after a few steps, she turned back, looking at Luo Yun’s retreating figure with a meaningful sigh.

“Such a troublesome little guy.”

Luo Yun entered the classroom, his seat barely warm when a familiar voice came from beside him.

Asagi Aiba, sitting in front, turned around, locking eyes with Luo Yun and gesturing with both hands. “Did you see the news this morning? They said there was a ghoul attack nearby. I just don’t get it—there’s artificial food now, so why would they still attack humans?”

“Just like people—when their hearts turn bad, they commit crimes. Nothing hard to understand.”

Luo Yun organized his textbooks.

Perhaps because he’d overexerted himself yesterday, he felt a bit groggy.

By now, Kasumigaoka Shiyu should have gone home, right?

“Luo Yun-kun always says such philosophical things. You don’t feel like others our age—more like an old uncle.”

The boy looked up.

“Not that I’m saying I dislike it. In fact, it’s… kinda nice.”

The last word was barely audible.

Under his gaze, Asagi Aiba’s face visibly flushed, her hands fidgeting on the chair, head lowered, avoiding his eyes.

Undoubtedly, Asagi was a beautiful girl—if she kept her mouth shut.

“Ahem, we have a surprise quiz for both periods today. Put your books away, and don’t even think about cheating.”

Unnoticed, Nangong Nayue had entered with a stack of test papers, her stern gaze flickering between the two.

She smelled something fishy.

“Ehh?!”

At her words, the entire classroom erupted into wails.

A test first thing in the morning—and in English, no less.

Who could handle this?

Ding-a-ling—

The two periods flew by, the agonizing classroom time dragging like years, yet passing in a frantic scramble.

Everyone scribbled desperately.

Failing meant facing Nayue’s severe punishments.

Nobody wanted to be kept after school.

During the lunch break, Luo Yun didn’t rest in Nayue’s office. Instead, with her scrutinizing gaze on him, he took his bento and left for the school rooftop.

A cool breeze greeted him.

“Over here, quick!”

Asagi Aiba had already claimed a spot. Seeing Luo Yun, she waved eagerly.

Under the slightly chilly sky, the girl sat on a bench, her golden-dyed hair shimmering like honeysuckle in a mountain stream. Her modified school uniform hugged her well-developed figure.

Though she wore makeup, it strangely didn’t come off as gaudy.

If she could just stay quiet, she’d exude even more of a beautiful-girl aura.

But that was clearly impossible.

Asagi Aiba was a chatterbox, especially around him.

This lunch was her initiative, and after Luo Yun had dodged her invitations so many times, he couldn’t bring himself to say “next time” again.

“Hurry up!”

Asagi patted the bench, signaling him to sit.

“Ta-da! Behold my culinary masterpiece! Now you know why I asked you to come, right?”

The blonde girl excitedly opened her lunchbox, presenting it like a prized treasure, brimming with enthusiasm.

Hearing this, Luo Yun’s face turned green, as if recalling something horrifying.
