My Curse? A Different Yandere in Every Reincarnation -
Chapter 110: Travel
Chapter 110: Travel
"Shizune, get ready for us to go out together," Yeom says out of the blue shortly after we had that conversation and ate together, her tone is very serious. I wonder why she wants to go out and where she might take me.
"Where are we going?" It’s rare for me to go out of this sect. Normally, I only go out when Yeom is going to cause trouble with other sects, taking her disciples among other things, and I need to go as her personal strategist.
Although I kind of prefer not to go out, it’s not like there’s anything special waiting for me out there, and the world is already dangerous enough for me to want even more risks.
There are malevolent cultivators, cultivators from "good" sects, demonic monsters among various other things, as well as certain inconvenient events that can happen randomly around the world for no apparent reason.
Of course, most of these things don’t stand a chance against Yeom, since only one person in the world can fight Yeom on equal terms, although if we encounter that person, we’ll have problems.
The attack that "I" received and left me bedridden was an attack from that cultivator, but she clearly reduced the strength of the attack to the maximum, showing that hitting me was not intentional.
I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time to receive an attack that Yeom evaded, of course I doubt Yeom cares about that, and in her view, the cultivator from the orthodox sect probably attacked me on purpose, even if I wasn’t vaporized by the attack.
"This time, it will just be the two of us, the destination is the orthodox sect." When Yeom says this, I get confused. I don’t know why we would go to that specific place, it’s like deliberately entering the den of a tiger without caring about the consequences.
Yeom is really very bold to simply want to show up at the doorstep of her biggest enemies, basically alone, since my strength is negligible in general.
"Okay, I’ll get ready." If she said so, then it’s done. It’s not like I have the right to choose in this situation. I’ll go to my room while she goes somewhere.
There are several things I need to pick up because it will be a relatively long trip, precisely because I’m basically a normal human. I just hope there won’t be too many dangers on the way.
"Yui, what do you think of this?" I ask as I enter my room to gather some things that are artifacts I’ve received from Yeom to protect myself. At the moment, I lift a briefcase full of papers divided between gold, silver, and bronze.
"Hmm, I don’t know much about this woman, but I think for now it’s okay to trust her! She seems to like you in her own way and seems to want to help you even if you’re not dying," Yui says, but it seems she didn’t notice that I asked about the artifacts.
I know that at the moment Yeom is concerned and trying to be nice to me, this is extremely obvious, and only someone very stupid wouldn’t notice it, but I decide to leave it as is instead of correcting her.
"If you think so, then it’s fine, but could you tell me which of these relics is better?" I hold two defense formation papers and ask which one is better. I may not have a fighting technique,
but I have several of these defense and attack papers, and I also have some healing ones. They were made by Yeom herself, and I always go out with them since they’re easy to use, just hold them and "wish" for the effect.
"I think these are better," She says while I grab several of the papers she said to use for my defense and to fight if necessary, although I doubt I’ll need them with Yeom with me, but extra safety is never too much.
"Shizune won’t do any harm with this, right?" The first thing Yui questions is not really something nice, but I understand why she thinks that, given my history in other worlds. I’m a terrible and evil person, and there’s no use making excuses, even if it was the fault of the situation.
"No, it’s just for personal defense, not that it would do much against Yeom, so at most it’s for using against mountain bandits or weak cultivators." Each of these papers has an attack that can easily blow up houses just with the wind of the attack itself.
So they are very powerful papers for my personal use. Of course, with Yeom around me, I’ll hardly have a chance to use them, but you never know, I might always end up getting lost or having to defend myself from a sudden attack.
Although if it’s an attack that comes out of nowhere, maybe I won’t even have a reaction to defend myself, being hit by such an attack, which might result in my death.
"I think I’ll also take some clothes, just in case Yeom tries to do some dirty things without asking me first." Yui gets embarrassed by what I say, since I don’t have much of a filter, but it’s true, I never know when Yeom might decide to try my "precious fruit".
Everything I pick up is stored in a small "bag" that is a ring I put on my finger. More precisely, it’s an artifact and can accumulate several things, although it has a relatively complicated limit, forcing me to choose wisely what to bring.
"Shizune, I recommend also taking some food! And along with that, cooking utensils and a little money," Yui says when she sees that I’m just stuffing clothes and formatted papers into my artifact. The idea is not entirely bad, extra food is always good.
"You’re right about the food and money, but I think cooking utensils are hard to carry, they take up a lot of space, so I’d rather not take that and replace it with the food itself." I grab some money and food bars and pills to eat on the trip.
The pills and bars aren’t something tasty, but the way Yeom is, I don’t doubt seeing her killing wild animals to fry for the two of us, so food isn’t that necessary.
Moreover, Yeom cooks really well, my weak cooking skills will never surpass what Yeom is capable of with just simple food and light seasonings.
"Shizune, are you ready to go?" Yeom knocks on the door while I’m stuffing things into the storage artifact, which has precisely the shape of a ring and serves as a bag for the items I can store.
It reminds me in a way of a game inventory, although more limited and with a weight and mass limit that can be placed inside.
"Yes, I’m ready, Yeom. We can go now." I open the door, seeing Yeom already in different clothes, a black robe with golden details that resemble a dragon. It’s the outfit she wears when she’s going to fight.
This robe is like a war armor, and attacks that could theoretically split mountains don’t even scratch this robe, which originally didn’t belong to the master, but she found it in ruins and took it for herself.
"You look very beautiful, Shizune. What do you think of me?" She boasts a little with a pose while asking me what I think. I look at her outfit carefully to judge.
"You look very beautiful, Yeom. Now could you tell me why we’re going to the orthodox sect?" I really want to know why we’re going to the place with her biggest enemies. I wonder what she’s planning with her diabolical mind and perverted schemes.
"I’ll...resolve something, and since it takes some time to get there, I ended up deciding to go and try to resolve the problem on the way. Now stop dragging your feet in this room and follow me, we still have a lot to do," She says as she turns to leave. I just start following her.
"Shizune, I think she’s going to try to negotiate with the orthodox sect to remove your curse," Yui says what she thinks Yeom will do. I just shake my head.
It’s impossible for this arrogant woman to go to her enemies just to try to save my life. I bet she’ll just kill everyone there in an uncontrolled and violent way.
And the biggest proof of this is what she’s going to say to the sect members at this very moment. She made everyone gather outside to say goodbye and temporarily hand over command to someone.
"LISTEN UP, YOU BUNCH OF WORMS!" She yells at everyone who is kneeling with their hands in a palm-up and fist-touching position as a sign of respect.
"I’M LEAVING, AND IF I COME BACK AND MY BASE IS DESTROYED, I’M GOING TO TURN YOUR BODIES INTO THE NEW DYE FOR THE BASE!" She yells maliciously at them.
And this is not a joke, she really will kill them if what she said happens, which only shows how violent she is, and her threats are always very serious, and she always does what she says she’ll do.
"YOU THERE! IT’S YOU! YOU’RE GOING TO BE IN CHARGE, AND IF I GET HERE AND MY BASE IS BROKEN, I’M GOING TO CUT OFF YOUR LIMBS AND SELL YOU TO A BROTHEL, YOU BITCH!" She yells at a girl.
This girl is one of the "masters" of the sect. From what I know and have seen, she is very strong, yet Yeom threatens her as if it’s no big deal.
"Let’s go, Shizune. Leave this bunch of vagabonds there and follow me," Yeom says as she turns and starts walking.
"Have a good trip, master," All the disciples and masters gathered yell with respect. Regardless of the threat, they have respect for Yeom, and as long as they don’t step out of line, nothing will happen.
I simply turn and start following Yeom on this long journey we’re about to have.
