My Creation Came to Life on an Island in Another World -
Chapter 26: Trouble Before Reaching the Azure Kingdom
Chapter 26: Trouble Before Reaching the Azure Kingdom
A week had passed since Khan visited the desert. He barely noticed Livia’s absence while she hibernated due to using her ability. He had some suspicions, but Iris came up with convincing excuses to push those thoughts away.
During that week, a lot had been done. The implementation of currency was one of them, starting with 20,000 gold coins, 200,000 silver coins, and 2 million copper coins.
It’s still uncertain whether this will work for trading with people from the new world, but it resembles their currency, based on information extracted from the prisoners.
He also gained a better understanding of how his abilities consume energy. It’s similar to sleep— the more complex the skill, the sleepier he becomes, possibly even falling into a vegetative state.
Since he and his creations don’t need to eat, drink, or even breathe, it doesn’t seem too bad for them. It would only be a real problem during wartime.
But for a normal person, it could be fatal, due to the vegetative state they might enter.
An announcement had been made that people would soon be allowed to descend from the island. After docking near the Azure Kingdom, more preparation time was needed because it was unfamiliar territory, but they didn’t intend to delay for long.
And at this exact moment, they were discussing who would be the one to make contact with the Azure Kingdom.
Khan was seated in his chair in the meeting room, looking at the map of the island.
Even this map is influenced by me... That’s dangerous.
Setting that thought aside, he spoke,
"I think it’s time we decide on someone... to go."
Everyone present turned their attention to Khan’s voice.
"Does anyone have an opinion on who should go?"
Honestly, I’d like to go myself... but I feel like there’s no point in even saying it...
Letting out a small sigh, Khan waited for someone to speak. After a brief silence, someone broke it.
"I propose Gabriel goes," said Luxian, raising one hand.
Gabriel was one of the warriors under Luxian’s command.
Maybe it’s a good idea to send him. He’s not weak, and he knows how to negotiate...
Resting his chin on his hand, with his elbow on the table, Khan continued,
"Would he kill those who oppose us?"
If he does, that’s a problem. There’ll definitely be people who stand against us...
Luxian seemed to think for a moment, but it was Livia who spoke up, rising from her seat,
"It would be an act of mercy to kill them, for refusing Khan’s benevolence."
Khan scratched his forehead with a sigh.
"You do know that could just be a natural reaction, right? Their’s territory being suddenly invaded... how does that sound to you?"
Seriously... I thought Iris would be the troublemaker here...
With Livia quiet again, though visibly hesitant to say more, Luxian spoke,
"I can tell him to be more patient. But if they go too far, I don’t think there’s much to be done."
Khan considered her words and leaned back into his chair.
I doubt they’d cross a line... unless the king is some arrogant bastard. Hopefully not.
"That’s fair. Anyone else have a suggestion?"
Alice was the only one who raised her hand. She seemed restless.
"Go ahead, Alice."
She hesitated for a moment.
"C-Can I take... a Look at the Azure Kingdom’s structure? Nya~" As always, her words came out in pauses.
Hearing that, Khan adjusted himself in his seat and thought,
That might be a good idea... But there’s still the issue of—what if they’re good against espionage?
Then Azathoth spoke,
"That’s a smart move when we know nothing. But it has its downsides. The main one being suspicion from the other side if anything goes wrong."
Alice lowered her ears, thinking her suggestion had been a waste of time.
Khan raised a hand and continued,
"I still think it could be a good idea."
After reconsidering, it would be really hard for them to know it was us. Maybe they’ll link it to the spy appearing with the island, but that’s just their speculation.
"If you say so... then I can’t argue against it," she replied, crossing her arms in frustration.
"Alright, put together a team of spy by tonight and send them," Khan said, looking at Alice.
"Understood," she replied, ears perking back up.
"And Luxian, send Gabriel tomorrow afternoon."
Luxian simply nodded, and Khan continued,
"Maybe our meeting is done?"
A short silence stretched over the room. Iris looked around and then raised her hand.
"Alright~, since no one else has anything, I’d like to say something unrelated to the new kingdom~"
"And what is it?"
"I want to introduce someone to everyone.~"
The only one to visibly react was Livia, with clear discomfort.
"Hm... and who would that be?"
What is she planning this time?
Iris stood up and walked to the door. When she opened it, she said,
"I present to you—" Then she paused, noticing something strange.
Scratching her head, she continued,
"I forgot to bring her...~"
Khan rubbed his face and thought,
Took her long enough...
"Go bring whoever it is you wanted to introduce..."
With that, Iris ran through the hallways. After a few minutes, she returned.
With her was a small person who, the moment we laid eyes on her, filled us with a sense of revulsion.
I’ve already accepted that I’m like this... now I just have to endure it...
As Khan calmed himself, Shubniggurath, who had been asleep, opened her eyes and glared. Luxian covered her eyes with her wings, Azathoth and Lilith clenched their fists to stay composed, and Alice no longer seemed interested.
The only one to speak was Livia, who shouted as she stood up,
"Why bring garbage before Khan? Wasn’t it enough that I had to lay eyes on such a fleeting existence!?"
Upon hearing that, Khan thought,
Wait... she’s seen her before?
The woman trembled under the unknown fury of Livia, and Khan looked at Livia with a cold tone.
"I decide what’s garbage or useful... calm yourself."
Livia sat back down, still clearly furious.
All this is giving me a headache, seriously...
With another sigh—something that had become routine—he turned to Iris.
"So... explain."
"Alright~, this is Nivi. She might qualify for the War Lady class.~" she smiled.
Understanding the weight of that statement, Khan thought,
Seriously? How can she be so sure? If that’s true, then this world has a similar class system to the island? More problems to think about...
Lost in thought, Khan stayed quiet, hand on his chin. Luxian was the one who spoke,
"Is this another of your jokes, Iris?"
"Nope~", she pointed to her eyes, which twirled, "These eyes don’t lie~"
Calming his mind, Khan thought about Iris’ ability.
Maybe... I can trust her, if it matches the description I gave those eyes...
Iris’ eyes worked like detectors to determine what class or potential someone had, all to provide Khan with the best possible entertainment.
Setting those thoughts aside, Khan said,
"Alright... can we test it?" he asked while looking at Nivi.
"We can~," Iris grinned as usual.
Nivi was visibly sweating from being in everyone’s presence. Even if she wanted to object, she didn’t dare.
"I see... then we’ll do that. But first... Alice, can you begin the preparations?"
"Of course, nya~," she said, rising and giving a small respectful bow before vanishing like a shadow breaking apart.
"Would you like to see the potential War Lady, Luxian?" Khan asked while looking at her.
Luxian moved one of her wings aside to show her eyes, and replied with respect,
"Not only do I want to see her, I want to test her."
That’s expected from Luxian... She holds the Paladin of Khan class, one made just for her, and in the world where I wrote about... the War Lady, that’s the closest class...
While Khan pondered, Iris responded to Luxian,
"I think we might have a tiny issue with that~"
"And why is that?" Luxian asked.
"Uhm~ maybe because you can’t really hold back?~"
"Absurd! I have perfect control over my strength!"
A small argument started. Seeing it wouldn’t stop anytime soon, Khan interrupted,
"Enough... I don’t want more voices. It’s embarrassing."
Nivi seemed lost in all of it but still felt the pressure from Khan’s calm tone, becoming even more nervous.
This was just supposed to be a quick decision... Khan looked at Iris, still smiling, and thought, She did this on purpose?
Pushing that aside,
"Luxian, you may test her... but I want her alive."
Honestly, I don’t care about this human, but it seems Iris would be upset if something happened...
Luxian grew excited, flapping her wings and smiling.
"Yes! Thank you, my Creator. I’ll do my best not to kill her."
Unfortunately for Nivi, she didn’t have many options.
What do I do... There’s no way I can go against any of them.
Nivi was taken to the castle arena by those present. There, Luxian spoke,
"Hope you take it seriously, ’War Lady’," she said mockingly.
Khan, observing the situation, thought,
Did I make her hate that class? I don’t remember doing that...
Nivi held her sword, trembling. All she could say was,
"I-I’m ready," trying to remain confident in front of a giant.
"If that’s the case, we can begin, right?~" Iris looked at Khan with a strange smile.
Sighing,
"Alright. Begin."
At those words, Luxian vanished from the arena and reappeared next to Nivi.
Nivi realized too late and tried to defend herself, but it was no use—Luxian landed a kick to her side, sending her flying across the arena.
...That was her holding back?
