Karsten was jealous of Azul, I could bet whatever to affirm that. He believed that Azul left me wanting and didn’t care for my sexual needs.

It was embarrassing enough that the voice message meant for Azul ended up with Karsten and now he wanted to make a point.

His warmth was overwhelming and no matter how much I tried not to react to his kiss and proximity, my body instinctively did. Trusting his touch to provide nothing but pleasure.

This was going to go my way and Mr Icicle was going to have his mood spoiled.

"He is better," I told him without holding back a smirk. I had imagined Karsten’s face to instantly harden and let go of mine but he didn’t.

Instead, his demeanour seemed rather laid back, as if he had enjoyed my answer, and the fine lines around his eyes slowly crinkled.

"You are quite a good liar, Blue Rose. With a countenance like a fluffy flower, you surely know how to sting like a bee."

His warmth was still branding me, he refused to let go of my face.

"Comes with being a woman in this world. You can’t be too careful with people’s intentions," I slowly said; my heart wouldn’t settle, and my eyes were very much on the edge of betraying me—they wished to gaze at his lush lips.

What an artistic kisser he was and I could now imagine what kind of lover he must be.

His hands finally dropped from my face, drenching me into a cold lonely sea while he grabbed my wig from the table and adjusted it back on my head.

His scent, a soothing concoction which calmed my heart.

My glasses followed and then he handed me my work tablet. Picking up his phone he deliberately showed me the voice note before deleting it.

"Promise kept. I hope next time you hook up with someone who won’t leave you so wanting that you will have to seek out your boss. I won’t always be so generous."

Right? As if I was the one begging him to be kissed. The charms he had so openly flaunted affected me but I wasn’t going to be the one to add to his Himalayan ego.

"Don’t worry, I won’t always be interested. Like I said and I repeat for the tenth time. It was not meant for YOU."

He deliberately raked his hand through his lush hair, his expression hardening only slightly.

"I beg to differ but let’s resume today’s work. Get me the digital files of Halos Project and bring me new coffee, this one has gotten cold." He brushed me off as if nothing had happened and walked past me with a visible haughtiness that always lingered around him.

Turning around I picked up the now cold coffee mug and began to walk out when I suddenly remembered why I had visited his office in the first place–before he distracted me.

"Sir! Actually, there was something I wanted to ask." Taking a deep breath and hoping my face wasn’t as bad as I thought, I turned around to face him.

Karsten had settled in his seat with a pen in his hand while he had a notebook open in front of him.

He only lifted his ebony eyes and watched me like a mute.

Who could guess this man was eating my mouth five minutes ago?

"I need a leave next week to go visit my family."

His brows shot towards his hair, but his face remained pensive as he pondered over my words, and I stupidly waited.

"How much?" He finally asked.

"Three days, consecutive with the weekend."

"Fine, inform Miranda beforehand and don’t extend it." Without wasting any more breath on me, he returned to his work.

"Thank you!" I heartily said and left his office with a satisfied heart but wet panties.
