Chapter 51: Weakness.

"So, you want to talk to Yuki?" Seriphina asked, taking a sip of her coffee.

Doing the same thing, Rashin placed the cup on the table and wiped his mouth.

"Yes, please. I’ll try to make it as quick as possible."

This didn’t really excite Seriphina much, as she had hoped he would speak to her instead.

Actually, the fact that Yuki had been obsessed with Rashin over the past couple of days played a huge role in it.

With a sigh, she turned her head to Yuki, who was standing at the side of the living room.

"So, what do you say?" she asked out loud.

If it was a stranger, he would have been scared to see Seriphina talking to nothing, but Rashin already knew the predicament, even if it was still weird and creepy.

Yuki replied to Seriphina, "I am ready when you are. Not like I was ever going to refuse to speak to him anyway."

"I knew that..."

Seriphina had a nervous look on her face before she sat upright and placed her hands on her thighs.

Closing her eyes, she began to concentrate, a trick she had learned while growing up.

It was a way for her to allow Yuki to take control.

In less than a minute, blue flames spread through Seriphina’s body, and in their wake was Yuki, seated on the chair.

Eri was immediately on guard, her hand gripping her staff tightly in case Yuki was to do anything.

Noticing the change, Rashin smiled. "Good to see you again, Yuki."

Her cheeks turned red, her face directing towards the group to avert her gaze.

"Hmm..." she nodded.

"I wanted to speak to you about something, and I was hoping you’d listen and give me a decent answer."

Yuki raised her head to listen.

Rashin then raised one finger. "Firstly, can you tell me where the Hakias come from?"

He raised his second finger. "How many Hakias are there? Is there a power ranking I should be aware of?"

Raising his third finger, he asked, "And for my third question, how many are currently on Earth and where?"

Question after question, and with every one that was thrown Yuki’s way, she winced, trying to see if she could remember.

But nothing came to mind.

She blinked once. Twice. And then a third time, her mouth squeezing as she made a disgusted face. "I can’t remember a thing."

Rashin sighed. "I see. I was hoping to get an answer out of you. I see, then."

Yuki looked to the side, her fingers playing with her hair. "I do remember some things. I-if you think they’ll be of help to you, I don’t mind telling you."

"Please! Do so." Rashin’s face lit up.

Yuki couldn’t help but blush a bit. It seemed like anything Rashin did was enough to set her off.

"Uhm, so if I remember correctly, we do have a hierarchy. We are ten in number. I believe we were called the Pillars. The higher our numbers, the stronger we were."

She placed a finger on her cheek. "Oh, and about where we came from—I don’t think any of us truly know. I only remember I was born and knew I had to follow up with those above me. Oh, but I know we can’t ever enter Earth if the barrier is still up, and I know we despise the angels. Uhm... I don’t know about the rest."

"It’s fine if you don’t remember. You don’t have to force yourself," said Rashin as he gripped his fist. She told me all the stuff I already knew. It’s not going to be of much help. Well, except the Pillars... I guess even Hakias have their own ranks now.

He leaned forward. "Do you happen to remember the people in the Pillar ranking?"

"I’m sorry. I never paid attention to any of them. The only one I truly had any type of bond with was Echidna, the Sixth Pillar. She is the only one I have any type of knowledge about."

This made Rashin more curious. Yes, it wasn’t what he was expecting, but still, half a loaf was better than none.

"Tell me all you know about her."

For Yuki, it was simply a good opportunity to have enough talks with Rashin. Spending time with him was all she cared about; passing the information was simply a second step.

She explained all she knew about Echidna and the insane ability she had.

No one knew the true nature of her ability, but it was said she was invincible, incapable of receiving any type of damage from anyone.

Even the higher-ranking Hakias viewed her as a huge problem. Her abilities were second to none.

And to top them off, she also had the ability to manipulate shadows—a unique ability she used against humans during every lockdown.

It was due to this ability that she was given the name Shadow Queen by the humans.

Squeezing her face a bit, Yuki spoke. "The only reason I was ever able to beat her was because my authority allows me to negate the weaknesses of others."

"Weakness?" Rashin asked.

"Yes. I can see others’ weaknesses before battling them. And most times, it is usually very accurate." Yuki looked at Rashin. "I know your weakness."

"Uhn?" His words came low, as if trying to understand what she was saying despite hearing her clearly.

Even Eri was surprised, glaring at Yuki.

"You know Rashin’s weakness?" she asked, not that she ever thought Rashin could have any weakness.

Yuki raised her hand a bit. "Your special ability is the unique skill to generate energy from your body. This ability allows you to damage immortal beings like Hakia. And while it’s very reliable, it also has a weakness. If the target makes any type of contact with you, the energy is immediately suppressed."

Yuki stood up and walked over to Rashin, then pressed her forehead against his.

Eri could have sworn she died, her eyes following over as she witnessed the boldness of the Hakia.

"I have initiated a touch. Please try to activate your immortal-killing energy," Yuki said out loud.

Her confidence was over the top, making even Rashin start to doubt himself.

He clearly remembered something similar happening to him when he battled the Fire Hakia. It was only a speculation; he didn’t expect it to actually be real.

"Okay then." Rashin decided to do it.

[White Cell Aura cannot be activated.]

Rashin’s face was filled with disbelief.

Even though she was flustered, Yuki still managed to keep a calm facade.

"See? My body automatically tampers with your energy. But..."

She moved her head back and pushed Rashin’s face closer so he would be the one to make contact instead.

"If you were the one to make the contact yourself..."

[White Cell Aura has been activated.]

The blue energy danced on her forehead, her skin already hardening from the effect of the energy.

She was in pain, definitely so, yet the expression on her face said otherwise.

"You can easily kill me before I can even try to run away. That is the power you wield."

Deactivating his White Cell Aura, Rashin looked at his hand, trying to grip it as he thought about it for a while.

A weakness he never knew he had.

"I thought I was stronger..."

Yuki smiled. "You are. With a bit of training, I assure you, you’ll be more than able to take down the First Pillar, maybe even the Demon Lord Winona."

Eri froze up. "D...id you say Winona?"

Yuki didn’t bother looking at Eri; any other person was irrelevant to her.

"Do you understand what I’m saying? So don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re very strong," she said to Rashin.

"Hey, don’t ignore me!" Eri pointed.

Yuki frowned, wondering why the barking dog was interrupting her conversation with Rashin.

"Don’t be rude, Yuki. Answer her," Rashin uttered.

Immediately, Yuki replied to Eri, "You’ve probably heard of him from the tale of the First War that decided the fate of humanity. Demon Lord Winona was said to be the creator of the Hakias. He was the only one to stand one-on-one with the Angel."

Eri felt her stomach turn a bit.

The story of the Demon Lord was something every priestess knew about. He was ruthless and completely overpowered, way too strong for the likes of humans.

If the Angel had not come to their aid, they would have been wiped off the face of existence.

"Such a being should never be allowed to exist in the first place," Eri blurted out.

Silence hung in the air, with both Yuki and Rashin staring at Eri.

Seeing her act so serious felt a bit different.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Yuki instantly switched with Seriphina.

"Please come in."

The door opened.

The dark umbrella slipped into the room, along with the presence of an unwanted guest...
