Chapter 125: Chapter 105: Comprehensive Evolution of Chess Species, The World’s Pinnacle Wind (Seeking Monthly Tickets)

A snow-white Paper Dragon formed directly above the attic, with a body ten meters long. The paper scales folded and unfolded in the night wind, rustling loudly. It folded its wings, and its massive form sprawled on the roof, resembling a tent made of paper from afar.

A girl in a crimson kimono was the first to ascend onto its head, glancing sideways at Xia Pingzhou, extending her hand towards him.

"Come over," she said.

After a while, Ji Minghuan finally snapped out of the awe inspired by the colossal creature before him.

He shifted his gaze from the Paper Dragon, slowly reaching out to take Ayase Origami’s offered right hand. The girl’s skin was as white and cool as snow, and her entire being seemed devoid of warmth, matching her appearance like a Japanese doll.

In silence, Ayase Origami tugged him up, allowing him to step onto the Paper Dragon’s head.

In the evening breeze, the girl’s crimson kimono waved like the sea, her icy expression lowered as her gaze moved to Xia Pingzhou’s palm, then back up to his face.

"Here’s a piece of advice for you," she said, neither cold nor warm.

"What?"

"It’s best not to let go of my hand."

"Do you think I dare let go?"

Ji Minghuan looked up to meet her gaze, saying expressionlessly, although inwardly he felt a bit speechless: Lady, don’t you realize how high up we are?

The next moment, the Paper Dragon suddenly flapped its wings, shooting straight towards the sky amidst the sound of air being torn.

The pressure sweeping in almost made Ji Minghuan want to kneel, but Ayase Origami held his hand tightly, using a curtain of paper to shield him from the raging wind. The girl’s cold and white body temperature passed through the palm of her hand, like holding a block of ice, causing a slight stir in his heart.

In just a few moments, the Paper Dragon climbed to five hundred meters above Tokyo.

It ceased to ascend, restraining the amplitude and force of its wing flaps, maintaining a flat trajectory, drifting lightly under the pitch-black sky like a white cloud.

They passed through the brightly lit downtown area, over countless crisscrossing cables and towering skyscrapers in the city center. In this moment, thriving Tokyo appeared very small, as if they could reach out and grasp the whole world in their hand.

Xia Pingzhou and Ayase Origami’s bodies pressed closely, like two roly-poly toys, motionless against the immense wind pressure above the city. The fierce wind tossed their black hair into a dance beneath the night. Looking up, one saw patches of cloud scales, with the moonlight peeking between them.

The boy and girl stood atop the dragon’s head, overlooking this colorful world.

In their pupils, the myriad lights reflected back, with neon signs stacked together forming a sea of stars over Tokyo City. In this second, it felt as though the entire city belonged to them.

Ji Minghuan suddenly understood what kind of feeling it was when Jack stood on the open deck with his brother in that classic old movie "Titanic" and shouted to the endless sea, "I’m the king of the world"—this never-before-seen spectacle indeed stirred one’s heart wildly, making one forget that beside them stood a ruthless female demon.

Ayase Origami brushed the flying strands of black hair from her eyes, glanced at Xia Pingzhou’s wistful expression, and said lightly:

"I should inscribe a line on the dragon’s body."

"What line?"

"Ayase Origami is out walking her cat, do not disturb."

Ji Minghuan froze for a moment, only then realizing that he had been teased by the lady again. She was always like this; even when joking, she remained cool and detached, no different from her usual tone, easily causing one to overlook the meaning.

He shrugged, too lazy to pay mind to Ayase Origami, turning instead to look down at the dense figures on the long street, who seemed as insignificant as ants on tree branches from above.

"Those people look like trash," he muttered, with an expressionless face.

"Then what do we look like in their eyes?" the kimono-clad girl asked softly.

"Flying trash," Ji Minghuan replied nonchalantly.

Ayase Origami chuckled lightly, a faint trace of a smile appeared on her pale cheeks, her voice a mix of neither anger nor indifference.

"Clearly it’s the owner taking their kitty for a spin, what’s this talk of ’flying trash’?" she said softly, "Little kitty’s rebelling."

Their whispered conversation was covered by the clouds, as the Paper Dragon carried the two over the dazzling cityscape, across the brightly lit Tokyo Bay Rainbow Bridge, towards a distant mountain forest, startling the beasts within.

In Ji Minghuan’s eyes, the looming "giant red exclamation mark" drew closer—this indicated they were nearing the site of the card event.

The Paper Dragon slowly folded its wings, like a plane decelerating before landing, coming to a stop in front of a shrine atop the mountain.

The world in her eyes abruptly turned dark. Away from the city’s lights, the forest was pitch black, with only a sliver of moonlight descending from the sky accompanying them.

A black and white notification box popped up in her vision.

[Japan Tokyo City’s Card Event ③ - "Yaksha and Asura" has been triggered.]

"Is this the place?" Ayase Origami glanced around, asking casually.

"Yes," Ji Minghuan nodded.

The giant red exclamation mark was right above, and the light points of the Exorcist’s internal system indicated that more than one demon existed here.

Ayase Origami hesitated for a moment, slowly released Xia Pingzhou’s hand, stepped off the dragon’s head, crossed the deep red torii gate, and then entered the shrine.
