Mrs. and Mr. Smith -
Chapter 1800
Chapter 1800: Chapter 1080: Luck? Chapter 1800: Chapter 1080: Luck? Ethan Smith initially wanted to refuse, but upon taking a second thought, he hastily stopped Evan Williams.
“Brother Williams, don't rush to leave. Let's chat some more since we rarely have this opportunity.” Ethan Smith said with a beaming smile.
Evan Williams was a bit surprised, and then he laughed: “Okay, no problem.”
So, Evan Williams sat back down.
The wheels in Ethan Smith's mind began to turn, hinting at a plethora of wicked ideas.
Then, he laughed and said: “Brother Williams, the Forbidden Zone is extremely dangerous. From what I know, all the major families who had ventured into the Forbidden Zone in the past did so with a large group of people.”
Evan Williams nodded slightly, and he laughed, “Don't worry, Mr. Smith. I still have some influence here. When the time comes, I will definitely gather a group of people to go together.”
Upon hearing this, Ethan Smith was ecstatic!
He quickly said, “Brother Williams, do you have a discussed list of people to involve? Can I take a look at it?”
Evan Williams shook his head: “There is no list. Why, Mr. Smith, do you have any ideas?”
Ethan Smith gave an affirmative sound, then sighed: “We're going on a mission, naturally, we don't want to encounter any mishaps. The individuals who will be accompanying us on this mission must be carefully selected and at least moderately powerful.”
“True words indeed.” Evan Williams nodded slightly.
Continuing, Ethan Smith said: “I heard about a person named Lennon Hansen, who is quite strong, in Ocean City. I heard about him before I entered Ocean City.”
Evan Williams nodded and said, “That's right, Lennon Hansen is quite powerful in Ocean City.”
“Do you know him, brother Williams?” Ethan Smith tried to suppress his excitement.Evan Williams laughed, “I've met him once.”
Ethan Smith continued: “I heard he had found a Saint Weapon around the Forbidden Zone. If he takes the Saint Weapon with him, it will provide a bit of security for us.”
Evan Williams looked quite surprised: “Is this true?”
“Absolutely!” Ethan affirmed confidently.
“Alright, I will visit him later.” declared Evan Williams.
Ethan Smith nodded repeatedly and said, “So, it's settled then, Brother Williams. We meet tomorrow.”
After fixing the meeting time with Evan Williams, Ethan Smith left with Salena Carpenter.
After they had walked some distance, Salena Carpenter looked at him with contempt and said, “You really know how to lie without batting an eyelid.”
“I had no choice. He assumed I was from the Central Province, so I just played along.” Ethan Smith justified.
Initially, Ethan Smith didn't know how to lure Lennon Hanson out, but now he saw a perfect opportunity.
Since Evan Williams belonged to one of the 'Great Family' of the Central Province, no one would refuse him.
Moreover, going to the Forbidden Zone had a high chance of acquiring a Treasure.
“Let Evan Williams test the waters first; let's see if Lennon Hansen does hold a Saint Weapon,” said Ethan Smith.
Salena Carpenter gave a thumbs up to Ethan Smith and said, “You are truly wicked.”
“Enough of you.” Ethan Smith rolled his eyes at Salena Carpenter.
It was still bright outside. Since they had arrived at the Crimson Moon Continent, the two decided to take a stroll.
It must be said, Ocean City was far different from the cities in the Eastern South Region. The locals here seemed exceptionally robust, and their strength was exceptionally formidable.
Walking down the street, they saw businesses everywhere. All sorts of magical artifacts were laid out on the roadside. The vendors asserted that these came from the Forbidden Zone, but they were obviously fakes.
Anyone with the slightest discerning capability could tell they were counterfeit goods.
After walking for a while, Ethan Smith and Salena Carpenter saw a shop nearly at the same time.
It appeared to be a raw stone shop, akin to a gambling stone shop.
It was also the place with the most onlookers.
No matter when, gambling can always attract a large crowd.
Like other vendors, the raw stone vendor claimed that their stones came from the Forbidden Zone and had the potential to contain various Dharma Treasures.
Both Ethan and Selena stood outside the shop unyieldingly. Salena Carpenter, who had a penchant for food, drink, and gambling, couldn't move from the spot.
Rubbing her hands, she then turned to Ethan Smith and asked: “Want to play a couple of rounds?”
“Alright, let's give our luck a try,” said Ethan Smith.
And so, both walked into the shop.
Upon entering, they found a vast assortment of raw stones displayed.
These stones were unusual compared to the ones from other places. They were not aware of the ways the vendors utilized, but every piece of the raw stone looked as though flowing with radiant light, which was extraordinary.
“All these stones are from the Forbidden Zone. Can't you all feel the power of the Forbidden Zone in these stones? It's scary!” The shop assistant was hugely exaggerating, demonstrating a lot of effort.
Ethan Smith didn't utter a word but quietly activated the desolate divine eye and scanned the set of raw stones.
Quickly, he found out that some of these stones could be seen through, while others blocked his divine eye's vision.
This discovery surprised him a bit. He knitted his eyebrows and murmured, “Could it be that these stones genuinely hail from the Forbidden Zone?”
Having thought of this, Ethan decided to test his theory by purchasing a stone that the desolate divine eye couldn't penetrate.
The stones here were outrageously expensive, with a casual piece costing millions of magic coins.
The stone that Ethan bought was opened under public gaze.
Unfortunately, there was nothing inside it; it was just a rock.
“That's strange.” Ethan knitted his brows.
He then chose several other stones that the divine eye couldn't penetrate, yet unfortunately, all turned out to be empty.
In less than an hour, Ethan had lost tens of millions of magic coins.
Salena Carpenter by his side was gritting her teeth in distress.
“What terrible luck you have, let me try!” She rolled up her sleeves.
Like selecting a watermelon, she pounded on each raw stone. Finally, her eyes landed on an enormous raw stone.
“This is it!” Salena said excitedly.
Ethan's brows furrowed. The desolate divine eye had a clear view of this stone. The interior was pitch black, devoid of light.
Such raw stones couldn't possibly contain any treasures.
“This stone won't do.” Ethan murmured.
Salena scoffed: “Whatever you know, this is it!”
The assistant enthusiastically asked, “This stone costs one hundred million magic coins. Are you sure you want it?”
“Enough with your blabbering; I'm taking it!” Salena blurted out casually.
She then looked at Ethan and beckoned him to pay the cost.
Ethan Smith had no other option but to agree.
After paying the money, several assistants carried the stone and started to cut into it using a secret technique.
Such a large stone didn't inspire hope, and everyone around was looking at Salena Carpenter with grinning faces, seemingly waiting to see her make a fool of herself.
Yet Salena paid no heed to them and was engrossed in watching the raw stone under operation.
Under everyone's gaze, the raw stone was slowly cut open bit by bit.
The first cut revealed nothing, as did the second one.
However, when they made the thirty-eighth cut, the raw stone suddenly started crumbling, and its outer layers fell off on their own.
