Mrs. and Mr. Smith
Chapter 1748

Chapter 1748: Chapter 1748: Randall Freeman's Call Chapter 1748: Chapter 1748: Randall Freeman's Call Dudley Lynch let out a sigh of relief. Not one to slack off, he immediately related the series of events involving Ethan Smith.

Of course, Dudley suppressed every detail about the chaotic body, indifferent to whether Denton Horton would come to know of it. This was a secret he intended to talk to no one.

After listening to Dudley, Denton Horton scoffed, remarking, “It seems your place is not as simple as it appears.”

Dudley Lynch let out an awkward laugh, “You're joking right,” he responded, “We can barely cultivate there. If it wasn't so difficult, we wouldn't have had to take such a risk hurrying into the Holy Region.”

Denton said no more; he turned and walked out.

Simon Ingram quickly followed, his eyebrows furrowed, “Master, when will we head South again?”

Denton declared, “First, gather information about the Southern Province. When we return there next, we should guarantee success!”

As the conversation went on, the two left the room.

Once they were gone, Dudley's face went cold, showing a stark contrast to the sycophantic expression he wore earlier.

From somewhere, Eternal drew near, his tone cool as he asked, “Aren't you afraid you'd have died under that finger a moment ago?”

Dudley threw Eternal a glance, replying with a cold snort, “He won't do that.”

“Why?” Eternal seemed confused.

Dudley replied coldly, “I'm still of some use to him. Besides, if he wanted to kill me, he could have just used the curse he planted in me. There was no need to raise a finger. Scaring me was the clear aim.”

As soon as he dropped this remark, Dudley also turned around and walked away.

Eternal stared at Dudley's fading figure in silence, deep in thought.

All of the Southern Province was buzzing with talk about this issue.

Having repelled Denton Horton twice, Ethan Smith had emerged as a hero for all in the Southern Province.

“Who would have thought that the one to finally send Denton packing would end up being Ethan Smith.”

“Apparently, he took an extremely precious Pill. Now he's fallen unconscious.”

“I wonder whether we'll be able to survive the next catastrophe.”

“Let's wait and see, before long, Denton would be back.”

“We can only hope that Forrest Middleton could reach the Reversion Void Stage before then.”

Inside Divine Capital City.

Ethan Smith still lay unconscious.

No one knew when he would wake, no one could tell what scars the Reversion Void Pill might leave behind.

In Divine Capital City where you could get in but not out, people like Gregory Hum were hesitant to recklessly leave the capital.

Occasionally, they would cast glances towards Forrest Middleton on the rear mountain, seemingly waiting for his breakthrough.

“Tsk tsk, is that lad sitting in the back mountain, Justin Vasquez?” asked Randall Freeman.

Gregory Hum nodded, replying, “His father is a notable character in the Southern Province.”

“That lad seems to have secluded himself for quite some time. Ethan even gave him dragon blood,” Randall informed.

Gregory didn't take the bait, instead keeping his eyes half-closed.

In contrast to Gregory's calm, Randall had been pacing restlessly within the capital city these past few days, having mapped out every corner in a matter of days.

“How long is this going to go on? Damn it.” Randall cursed under his breath.

He hadn't had a drink in many days, and he was on edge.

Most importantly, his two grandsons were still out there. If they fell prey to the North people, that would spell trouble.

Several days later.

Randall simply couldn't bear it any longer.

He walked up to Gregory, saying solemnly, “I'm thinking about leaving this place.”

Gregory's expression stiffened, “Ethan warned, we should never leave the Divine Capital City.”

“If Denton comes, will we hide in the Divine Capital City?” retorted Randall.

Gregory suddenly fell into silence, at a loss for words.

“If we're going to have to leave sooner or later, why should we suffer here?” Randall asked coldly.

“What's more, the environment here is not conducive to cultivation.”

Gregory seemed to agree with Randall's points. So, he slowly rose to his feet, admitting, “I'll leave as well.”

“Hmm, let Wilfrid Parhem take care of Ethan,” Randall suggested.

They were in agreement and left the Divine Capital City that very day.

After exiting the city, Randall immediately rushed towards the Azure Rock Forest and found Ged Shepherd. He informed him about Ethan taking the Reversion Void Pill.

“What consequences will the Reversion Void Pill have?” Randall asked, furrowing his brow.

Ged shook his head, “I'm not sure of the specifics, but I know the consequences will be severe.”

Randall sighed, “If this pill ends up damaging his foundation, you'd be the one to blame.”

Ged didn't dare to retort. All he could do was bow slightly, to express his apologies.

“Do you Hunters have any Dharma Treasure left that can resist Denton?” Suddenly, Randall changed the topic.

Ged shrugged sorrowfully, “None left. If we had any, we wouldn't still be hiding in the Azure Rock Forest.”

Randall sighed again before stating, “So be it.”

With that, Randall left the Hunters and returned to the Grandeous Mountain.

In a flash, eight days had passed since the Great War.

The countdown to Forrest Middleton's retreat seemed to be shortening.

This day.

Atop Grandeous Mountain, a great number of those at the Reversion Void Stage had gathered.

Randall had assembled all the Reversion Void Stage members he could connect with, to discuss the strategy against Denton.

At the summit of Grandeous Mountain, Randall absolutely looked the part of a general in all his majesty.

Meanwhile, Salena Carpenter sat next to him, eating and drinking heavily, resembling nothing more than a young child.

“Isn't that Salena? I heard she was in trouble.”

“How did she end up on Grandeous Mountain? Was she here all along?”

“If Salena is still alive, then we do have some hope for the upcoming battle.”

“What hope? Can't you see her current state? She's nothing more than a Semi-Reversion Void Stage fighter now. She's just a shadow of her former self.”

Randall cleared his throat, surveyed the crowd, but couldn't find the words to start his speech.

He had never had a knack for public speaking. Now, facing this crowd, he was even less sure of what to say to inspire them.

After a long pause, Randall raised his glass, proposing, “I ask you all to join forces to counter Denton!”

His words fell to a deafening silence, not a single applause could be heard. The room was absolutely chilly.

“Damn it, don't you know how to clap? Not giving me any face at all!” grumbled Salena. She rose up, clapping her hands, while expressing her displeasure.

Seeing Salena rise, the crowd felt somewhat panicked. Instinctively, they started clapping along.

Clearly, although Salena was only a Semi-Reversion Void Stage cultivator, these people were still wary of her.

“Well that's settled. In a few days, we head for the Divine Capital City together!” declared Randall.

He raised his cup and emptied its contents in one gulp.

“I think it's better if you all don't waste your energy,” a cold voice suddenly echoed from the shadows.
