Mrs. and Mr. Smith -
Chapter 1747
Chapter 1747: Chapter 1747: The Consequences of Taking the Reversion Void Pill Chapter 1747: Chapter 1747: The Consequences of Taking the Reversion Void Pill Ethan Smith was well aware of his current state.
As Ged Shepherd once mentioned, the side effects of the Reversion Void Pill were severe, and even Ethan himself didn't know what these side effects might be.
If Denton Horton were to strike again, no one outside of the Divine Capital City could probably protect him.
Only after reaching the Divine Capital City did Ethan finally catch a break.
“I wonder where on earth that bastard Drexel has gone.” Ethan couldn't help but frown slightly.
Drexel was formidable in his own right, and he had likely ascended to the Reversion Void Stage following the Great Upheaval.
Both in terms of physical constitution and duration of life, Drexel was no lesser than Denton Horton.
Moreover, judging from what he said himself, Drexel was remarkably talented, at least no weaker than Denton Horton.
The only pity was that Drexel hadn't shown his face since the last time he took action.
“I never thought you would be the one to repel Denton Horton in the end,” sighed Gregory Hum.
Ethan gave a bitter smile and said, “I'll likely be unconscious for a while now.”
“The Reversion Void Pill… I've heard that it has severe side effects. Any pill that can enhance one's strength in such a short time usually carries heavy side effects,” stated Randall Freeman who was nearby.
Immediately changing his tune, he laughed and said, “Your surprisingly reached the Reversion Void Stage. We didn't expect that. If it's truly your strength that led you to this state instead of the influence of the pill, then you would have been all the more powerful.”
Ethan Smith felt the same.
The effects of the Reversion Void Pill had been far more significant than he had anticipated.
Accordingly, if he stepped into the half Reversion Void Stage, he might be a match for Forrest Middleton and the others at the Reversion Void Stage.
“In the coming period, try not to leave the Divine Capital City…,” Ethan continued.
“We've cast the Divine Inscription Formation here. It won't be that easy for Denton Horton to break in.”
“I fear our situation may not be as optimistic as you think.” Just then, Wilfrid Parhem approached.
Gregory Hum and Randall Freeman looked at Wilfrid Parhem with a hint of doubt, and mentioned in surprise, “Who might this be?”
“I am Wilfrid Parhem, a nobody compared to you, seniors,” Wilfrid greeted respectfully.
Ethan gave a brief introduction and then gestured for Wilfrid to continue speaking.
Wilfrid went on, “Just before you arrived, Denton Horton almost broke the Divine Inscription Formation.”
“What?!” Ethan's face turned ghastly pale.
This Denton Horton, was he really so formidable? Could he even break the Divine Inscription Formation?
“He is no ordinary Reversion Void. We cannot gauge him by conventions,” said Randall Freeman harshly.
Gregory Hum nodded in agreement and said, “Indeed, the ordinary Reversion Void Stage person is no match for the two of us.”
Ethan fell silent; he had got a taste of Denton Horton's strength in their latest encounter.
He was well aware that Denton had many more tricks up his sleeve. If he proceeded to fight to the death, it was uncertain if Ethan, who temporarily stepped into this state with the help of the Reversion Void Pill, could defeat him.
Moreover, Randall Freeman and Gregory Hum had already worn him out in a round.
While Ethan didn't yet completely understand Denton's power, he always feels that his showing in the recent battle wasn't all that Denton was capable of.
It was important to know that, other than for the Middleton brothers, there were hardly any others in the Southern Province comparable to Gregory Hum and Randall Freeman.
However, despite this, their fight was extremely strenuous.
“If Denton attacks again, we may have to join the battle,” growled Randall Freeman.
Ethan clenched his teeth. He certainly didn't want anything happening to these two, but it seemed there were no other options.
“Let's think about that after the Divine Capital City is breached,” Ethan said in a hardened voice.
He had originally planned to take advantage of the terrain to mend the formation, but was now incapacitated and utterly powerless.
As a result, Ethan took out the bracelet sent by Clare Richardson and an iron rod to give to the pair.
“I'm not sure about the origins of these two items, but I know they must be valuable. So, if they can come in handy for you, then it would be for the best,” Ethan stated.
As he was saying this, Ethan's vision began to darken.
He tried to say something, but he fainted unaware.
While watching Ethan collapse, Randall Freeman and Gregory Hum weren't too surprised.
“I wonder if there will be any underlying issues after taking the Reversion Void Pill this time,” mused Gregory Hum.
Next to him, Randall Freeman scoffed, “To someone who's eaten up with lice, a flea bite will mean nothing. I guess he doesn't care anymore.”
Gregory Hum just shrugged without saying anything more.
As for how to deal with Denton Horton next, it was just a matter of seeing how things play out.
The North Plain.
After this battle, Denton Horton looked terrible, horrifyingly so!
“I didn't expect Ethan Smith to be so formidable,” Denton muttered coldly.
His eyes were fixed on Dudley Lynch.
Dudley shuddered and immediately knelt down.
“Why did you try to save Ethan?” Denton demanded coldly.
Dudley's face changed slightly, and he hastily said, “No… No, Master, I have no such intentions. Ethan and I have a vendetta against each other, and I would by no means save him!”
“Do you think I'm a fool?” Denton narrowed his eyes, his voice growing colder.
“So, are you still harboring feelings for your hometown?” Simon Ingram next to him mocked.
Dudley Lynch quickly shook his head, “I would never do that, please understand, Master!”
Denton Horton snorted coldly, and a trace of light shimmered at the tip of his finger.
This light was no larger than a grain of rice, but the power it embodied was terrifying to the extreme. Even Eternal and Simon Ingram couldn't help but change their expression!
“If you don't tell the truth, I will kill you right now,” Denton said coldly.
But Dudley knelt on the ground and said, “Everything I said was true. Even if you kill me, I told nothing but the truth…”
Denton Horton said nothing more; the glint of light at his fingertips shot straight towards Dudley's forehead.
Dudley's face was pale, and beads of sweat dotted his brow. Yet he showed no intention of changing his statement.
The light was inching closer and closer, from ten centimeters to one centimeter.
Its fierce power burned Dudley's skin, and everyone held their breath in anticipation.
Even Eternal and Simon Ingram swallowed hard, their faces filled with tension.
As soon as this trace of light hit the target, Dudley would certainly be obliterated!
But just as the light was about to touch Dudley, Denton retracted his finger.
He crossed his arms behind his back, and said calmly, “Fine, I'll take your words for it. Now, I want you to tell me all that you know about Ethan Smith, especially why he is so powerful.”
