Mrs. and Mr. Smith
Chapter 1719

Chapter 1719: Chapter 1719: Eternal's Boast Again Chapter 1719: Chapter 1719: Eternal's Boast Again “You've met them?” asked Forrest Middleton, somewhat surprised.

Ethan Smith nodded and said, “A guy named Cuthbert Greene invited me to the Westeria Land but I refused.”

“Refused? Why did you refuse?” Forrest raised an eyebrow.

Ethan wasn't sure how to answer for a moment then he vaguely replied, “Maybe it was their attitude that I didn't like.”

“The Westeria Land is like the Eastern Land, a barren wasteland, where you may find what you want, such as dark energy,” Forrest said.

“So, you should go.”

Ethan frowned, “If I were to go, wouldn't you mind?”

“Me? Why would I mind?” Forrest was surprised.

Then he sighed, “You're like my brother, always overthinking, always considering how others will think. Isn't that tiring?”

“Moreover, who cares about you? It's your freedom to go wherever you want. Don't you have the right to freedom?”

Forrest's words rendered Ethan Smith speechless.

“Maybe I just don't want to go.” Ethan could only say helplessly.

Forrest laughed, “You will go. I can bet on it.”

Ethan couldn't help but scoff, “Aren't you being a little too overconfident? Whether I go or not is up to me.”

“So, do you dare to bet with me?” Forrest asked.

Ethan asked, “What are we betting?”

After a thought, Forrest replied, “Let's bet on time. I bet you a month.”

“If I lose, I'll follow you for a month. If you lose, you'll follow my orders for a month.”

Ethan frowned slightly, not entirely understanding Forrest's intentions.

But he was confident he wouldn't lose, so he agreed.

Seeing Ethan agree, Forrest got up and said, “If you want dark energy, you need to go to the Westeria Land.”

“I can choose the North Plain, and I'm likely to choose the North Plain,” Ethan confidently responded.

Forrest looked at Ethan and said, “You can't go to the North Plain anymore.”

“Can't go? Why?” Ethan asked, puzzled.

Forrest said, “Because Denton Horton has resurrected.”

At this, Ethan's face changed dramatically!

He shot up in alarm, “So soon … isn't he coming to find you immediately?”

Forrest didn't answer Ethan but said, “To say he has resurrected is somewhat imprecise; strictly speaking, it's his avatar that has returned to life, and it's not as powerful as his original body.”

“Another avatar?” Ethan was taken aback.

“Unlike the previous avatar, this avatar of Denton, although not as powerful as the original, has reached the Reversion Void Stage,” Forrest said.

Ethan was startled and after a moment of silence, he said, “Is this why you have been reluctant to reach the Reversion Void Stage? You knew in advance that his avatar would resurrect first?”

“Correct.” Forrest nodded.

“If I were to face the fully resurrected original, I would stand no chance, but an avatar, perhaps…” Forrest said lightly.

“Why didn't you tell me earlier…” Ethan murmured.

Forrest raised an eyebrow and laughed, “So, have you decided not to go to the Westeria Land?”

Ethan opened his mouth, suddenly a little helpless.

With these circumstances, the Westeria Land seemed to be the only place he could go.

If he dared to step into the North Plain, it would undoubtedly be a death sentence.

“Well, a bet's a bet,” sighed Ethan with a touch of helplessness.

Forrest burst into laughter, he patted Ethan on the shoulder and said, “Don't be discouraged, I've never lost a bet.”

Ethan rolled his eyes at him, but for the moment he had nothing to say.

“You haven't answered my question yet. Why do people from the Westeria Land also want to kill you?” Ethan asked.

Forrest said solemnly, “In the past, the Rayleigh Province was comprised of three regions: the Southern Province, East state, and Thunder Courtyard.”

“Later, the worst criminals from these three regions were exiled to the North Plain, thus the present day North Plain was created.”

“The Westeria Land, on the other hand, was a refuge for a group of losers. Only after that did the Westeria Land come into existence.”

Ethan nodded, waiting for the continuation of Forrest's story.

Forrest continued, “Cuthbert Greene, was one of the defeated generals back then. His older brother, named Dwayne Greene, was also one of the losers.”

“The two brothers nearly died at the hands of me and Ken Middleton, but they narrowly escaped and fled to the Westeria Land.”

“Their strength was not bad to begin with, so naturally, they'll rise with the wind and seize the opportunity for revenge.”

Ethan suddenly realized.

“So, the two Greene brothers lost to you and Ken.” Ethan muttered.

A small nod from Forrest confirmed as he continued, “But their strength does not equal Denton Horton's, so I never saw them as a threat.”

Ethan frowned, “But their methods seem not weak. That face in the sky that day is not something an ordinary person can do.”

Forrest scoffed, “That's just a trick to fool people, unworthy of mention. Just flashy nonsense.”

Seeing this, Ethan joked, “Then better be careful, in case they both target you.”

As the two were conversing, the voice of the Deputy Sect Master came from below.

“Ethan Smith, Eternal has gone to the northern border and is currently clamoring to compete with you,” said the Deputy Sect Master from outside Cultivation Mountain.

Ethan was startled and exclaimed, “After such a heavy injury, has he recovered so quickly?”

“It's Denton's method; more accurately, it's the secret technique of the Immortal Slaying Sect,” Forrest said.

“Comparatively, Denton's method is much stronger than the Greene brothers',” Forrest added.

Ethan nodded and said, “After all, he has the inheritance of the Immortal Slaying Sect.”

“Are you going to go?” asked Forrest.

Ethan laughed, “Of course, I have to go. Otherwise, wouldn't it be a disgrace?”

“Do you think you can handle the current Eternal?” Forrest looked Ethan up and down.

Ethan shook his head, “Of course not, but I still have to go.”

“Why?” asked Forrest, puzzled.

Ethan jokingly said, “Turns out there are things you don't know either. You'll have to figure it out yourself.”

As Ethan finished speaking, he got up. He dusted off his pants and after bidding Forrest goodbye, he left the Cloud Sect.

Northern border.

Eternal seemed to have restored his former arrogance, standing there with his arms crossed, being as arrogant as he could be.

The people around him didn't dare approach, they all hid in the shadows, for fear of dying at Eternal's hand.

“Damn, this Eternal really has no shame, he's at the Reversion Void Stage and he even challenged Ethan.”

“If he had shame, he wouldn't be Eternal.”

“Do you think Ethan will come?”

“Come? Is he coming to die? As long as he's not brain-dead, he definitely won't come.”

“Exactly, as long as you live, there'll be hope.”

Eternal was waiting for Ethan's arrival with his hands crossed behind his back.

He opened his eyes slightly and said coldly, “Ethan, how much longer are you going to hide!”
