Mr. Su's Love Investigation Report
Chapter 163 You Are My Bright Moonlight

Chapter 163: Chapter 163 You Are My Bright Moonlight

How could she possibly beat him at it?

She threw herself forward, only to fall right into his embrace.

"You can write another one." He encircled her with one arm, picking up another tree leaf with the other.

Tu Hengsha got a sudden burst of inspiration and began drawing little figures on the tree leaf with a pen. He turned on his phone flashlight to give her some light.

She drew a little boy and a little girl holding hands, with the little boy holding a lollipop.

"Is this us?" He asked, watching her finish.

She carefully wrote "Xiao Xu" on the little boy’s head and handed him the pen, saying, "Whoever you want to hold hands with, that’s who it is!"

He took the pen, thought for a moment, then drew a full moon above their heads.

"Why draw the moon?" She felt a bit uneasy, not hearing him label the little girl.

"Well... the moon tonight is so big and round!" he said.

She refused to give up, pointing at the little girl. "Who is this?"

He pondered for a moment and added three words above the little girl’s head, "Bright Moonlight."

"Hmm?" As if everyone didn’t know it was the moon! She wanted him to label the girl! She looked up at him, pointing at the little girl with her eyes, protesting.

"Dummy!" he whispered.

She wasn’t happy about it. Was he insulting her again?

Seeing her nose scrunch up unattractively, he had no choice but to draw an arrow under "Bright Moonlight," pointing toward the little girl.

"What does this mean?" She had to admit her zero experience in romance and lack of romantic instinct...

He clicked his tongue disapprovingly, "How can a girl be so dense?"

"Then tell me what it means!"

"It means..." He paused, leaning close to her ear to whisper, "My Bright Moonlight."

"..." She fell silent, lowered her head with a smile, snatched his leaf away and said no more. Her heart was filled brightly with moonlight.

In the quiet, beautiful night, somewhere in the woods came the soft sounds of insects.

"Why didn’t you stop me from giving the recording to Yueyue?" She asked, leaning against him.

"Little Sha, Little Sha..." He didn’t answer, just softly called her nickname, "Does everyone call you that?"

"Uh-huh!" She thought for a moment, adding, "Only you call me Tu Hengsha by my full name!"

He laughed, "Is that bad?"

She thought again, not saying it was bad, just acknowledging, "I call you Xiao Xu."

"What do you want me to call you?" He ruffled her hair, messing it up, then combed it back neatly with his fingers.

"Little Sha!" She said decisively. Everyone close to her called her that.

He chuckled, "Really? I think Hao Ren also calls you Little Sha!"

"Yeah! People close to me do!"

"Do they?"

In his words, there was an undertone of concern, but Tu Hengsha didn’t notice, still saying, "Yeah!"

He cleared his throat, "What does it mean to be close?"

"It means being my dear friends! But there are very few of them; you can’t even fill a hand counting."

He went silent.

Not hearing a response for a while, she looked up, "What’s wrong?"

He still didn’t speak, with a tense expression.

Just then, his phone suddenly buzzed a few times, and she suddenly remembered, "Oh no, what time is it?"

"Nine thirty," he looked and said.

"It’s been so long! I have to go back now. I said I was going out to buy something; otherwise, my mom would wonder what I went out to buy." She said and was about to stand up.

"..." He held onto her, slow to let go.

"Ready to go?" She nudged his arm.

He reluctantly released her.

She hopped up and started heading back, but after a few steps, she felt something was off. She turned around and saw he was still sitting there, so she hurried back to pull him along. "Aren’t you leaving?"

Silently he stood, letting her lead him.

After walking a bit, he suddenly asked, "How long were you out?"

"I don’t know, less than an hour, probably." She calculated briefly.

"Isn’t the moon better looking than the stars?" He asked, somewhat sullenly.

"Hmm?" She didn’t understand why he asked that.

"Nothing." He fell silent again.

The distance from the grove to the dorm wasn’t far. Tonight, Tu Hengsha felt it was especially short, reaching quickly. There was a slight sense of regret as she stood under the dorm building, looking up at him with reluctance, "Xiao Xu..."

"Weren’t you going out to buy something? How will you explain to Mom later?"

She blinked, "Right! What do I do about that!"

"Just say..." He paused, "You bought a bottle of vinegar."

"Huh?" She didn’t understand, "Why vinegar? What will I say if my mom asks for it?"

He sighed silently, pinching her nose, "How can you be so dense! Really oblivious!"

"How am I dense?" She protested, rubbing her nose, "I’m going upstairs! Go buy vinegar yourself!"

"..." For someone so oblivious, she had such clever responses.

She entered the building, ran up the stairs, and looked back, seeing he was still standing there. With a grin, she ran back and hugged his waist, rubbing her face against his shirt, "Xiao Xu, you smell so good."

He smiled, about to speak, when she continued, "Like the smell of green dumplings."

"..." He was out of words.

"Do you think the wild Artemisia rice from Grandma also smells this good?" She pressed her nose against his shirt, sniffing hard.

He laughed helplessly, "Next spring, I’ll have Grandma make it for you to eat."

"Great!" She let go with a cheerful smile, "I’m really going now! Good night!"

"Good night, go on, I’ll watch you go up."

She waved, running up the stairs, and on the third-floor hallway, she looked down to see him still there.

"Go home!" She mouthed soundlessly to him.

He waved back, watching until she entered her home and was out of sight, before smiling, shaking his head, and leaving.

Tu Hengsha was humming a song on her way home. As expected, Shu Hui asked her, "So happy? What did you buy?"

"..." She thought quickly and said, "Bought a green dumpling."

"Where would you find green dumplings at this time? Where’s the green dumpling then?"

"I ate it! Hahaha!"

"Such a silly girl!"

At that moment, the silly girl felt like there were two fireballs in her pocket, burning hot. As soon as she reached her room, she took out the tree leaf from her pocket. Under the bright light, the sentences on the leaf were clear and beautifully written.

The leaf had some dirt on it; she gently brushed it off and searched online for how to make bookmarks.

After fiddling for a while, her phone vibrated with a message from Mr. Su.

Just seeing his name made her eyes squint with a smile. She opened it, and Mr. Su wrote, "I forgot something, can you courier it to me?"

"What?" she replied.

"Send a selfie over."

Oh gosh! She quickly looked in the mirror; her bangs were neat, and she wondered if she should put on some makeup.

"Hurry!"

Oh, nevermind, no makeup! She had her powerful beauty camera after all!

She took the photo, edited it a bit, added a filter. As a professional photographer, she thought she had edited it to the point even her mom might not recognize her. She then made it into a meme and added a caption: Your Bright Moonlight is online.

Satisfied, she sent it, waiting for Mr. Su to praise her cuteness.

However, Mr. Su replied with one sentence: Who is this? So ugly!

"..." If Mr. Su were in front of her then, she would have choked him for sure!

In a huff, she sent the original photo, waiting for him to keep mocking her.

Mr. Su didn’t disappoint, replying again, "Really ugly."

"..." She was utterly furious!

Then Mr. Su followed up with: Confirmed it’s my ugly girl! The package is received! Good night!
