Chapter 419: Chapter 419 Contraceptives (4) Chapter 419: Chapter 419 Contraceptives (4) Lu Wanwan noticed the secretary’s brief expression a second ago, seemingly surprised by something.

The person who originally wanted to walk in stopped after two steps and asked, “Excuse me, what did President Gu just say?”

The secretary lifted her head again, “President Gu said he knows, Miss Lu, you can go in.”

Lu Wanwan started to say something but then stopped, in the end asking no further.

Perhaps today’s events had made her mind too chaotic, making her somewhat suspicious.

When she entered, Gu Annan was tapping away on something at the computer and didn’t even look up.

His work demeanor was as usual, his handsome features cool and detached, his gaze devoid of any personal emotion, and even the sound of his typing carried a methodical rhythm.

Lu Wanwan suddenly stopped, deeply regretting her unthoughtful actions.

Gu Annan had put aside his work lately, and probably was very busy recently. The last thing she should have done was to waste his time at work, so why did she come to his company at this time?

Earlier, when she was leaving Jin’an and saw it was still early, and Xu Yuan hadn’t finished work yet, she got into the taxi and subconsciously gave the driver the address to Gu Building.

Maybe it was because she had gotten used to being able to see him at any time recently, to enter his study whenever she wanted, this habit truly has the power to spoil someone.

Gu Annan suddenly lifted his head and stopped what he was doing.

“I’ll sit over there,” Lu Wanwan pointed to the guest sofa in his office, looking annoyed, “You don’t need to bother with me, just keep working.”

Gu Annan didn’t speak. In fact, the document he was working on in front of the computer was not very urgent and he had only opened it when she pushed the door open.

It was only because seeing that box of contraceptives felt like cold water pouring over the emotions he had when he wanted to return to Gu Mansion earlier.

At such times when he heard the news of her coming, he just wanted to temporarily avoid the matter.

The sound of typing resumed, now appearing somewhat more disorderly than before.

Lu Wanwan leaned on the sofa, guessing that perhaps his work had been particularly heavy lately, and by coming over recklessly, she had interfered with him.

The tapping noise suddenly stopped, and Gu Annan abruptly turned off his computer and stood up.

His hand, upon touching the miscellaneous box nearby, slightly curled his fingers before nonchalantly picking it up.

“Your things,” Gu Annan handed them over, his tone even, “brought by someone who was resigning.”

“Ah, I forgot about that,” Lu Wanwan hurriedly took it, “I was saying I should have gone myself; my desk drawer is such a mess.”

“Are these things important?” he asked, eyeing her unchanging expression.

Lu Wanwan thought for a moment, then flipped to reveal the succulent from inside, “If I have to say what’s important, it’s this, which I’ve raised for half a month.”

When she took it out, the notebook on top was lifted.

She caught a glimpse of a yellow box beneath in the corner of her eye and suddenly panicked, swiftly putting the succulent back.

That was a box of contraceptives she had bought previously, thinking that Gu Annan would end up staying at her place, because she was worried about the strong side effects of morning-after pills.

Yet before she had the chance to take it back home, it had been left at the office.

“What’s the matter?” he noticed her abrupt movement, Gu Annan asked indifferently.

“It’s nothing, I’m just thinking… maybe this could be placed on your office desk,” she said holding the box of miscellaneous items and hurried over to his desk.

With her back turned, she took out the succulent again and used the notebook that was on top to cover the box of contraceptives again.

She sighed in relief and on reflection found that she shouldn’t feel so guilty about this, as her action was purely subconscious.

“Gu Annan, inside this…” she began.

“Hello,” Gu Annan picked up a phone call, “Father?”
