Chapter 96: YOU HAVE TO PROMISE

"Miss Dove, Grandpa is old. I think it would be best if we do what makes him happy. And if he wants us to not know about it, we would ’not know’ about it."

Dove looked at him, understanding what he meant to say and he slowly nodded his head. Dante was right.

Later that night, Dove spent some time with her grandfather talking to him about the day. But in between she would feel so overwhelmingly emotional, thinking of how much her grandfather must have been suffering.

And then she finally left after a little while, letting him rest. She then went to Gavi’s room, to put her son to sleep as well as talk to him about something related to what he told Dante today.

After all, she fg that it was really very important for her to talk about her son regarding this, given his worry about her in that tender age.

And just when she was about to walk inside the room, she found Dante, who was also standing out of Gavi’s room as if just about to walk in.

And when he too saw her, he stopped and then with a small smile on his lips, made a ’please, you first’ sign with his hands.

Dove chuckled and then shook her head before saying, "let’s go together, Mr Lancaster. After all, you were the one who he trusted to tell what was going on in his mind and heart."

Dante looked at Dove, before asking, "Are you sure?" "Of course," nodding her head Dove replied.

And then they entered Gavi’s room, after knocking once. Gavi who was playing with his new toys that grandpa had brought for him, hr looked up to see that Dove and Dante were standing outside his room. And Dove asked her son in gentle voice, "Gavi, can we come in?" Gavi blinked his eyes, before he at once let go of his toys, and kept them back in his toys box and stood up, "Of Course!"

Dove went to on the bed, and pulled her son to her arms before she gently caressed his head. Dante too took a place on the other side of the bed. And then caressing his head, and running her fingers through his hairs, Dove gently said, "Baby, I am here to talk about what you told to Uncle Dante about great grandpa."

And when that was mentioned, Gavi felt his nose prick and his lips quivered before his eyes teared up, and he hugged his momma tightly and said, "Momma, Great grandpa! Will he be fine? You know there was so much blood, and he looked so sick. I was scared and worried."

Hearing and seeing her son say it like that, even Dove felt her heart clench, and she hugged her son who was crying holding her. She patted his back and soothed him and said, "Don’t cry baby. Great Grandpa will be fine." Though she was also very scared about her grandpa’s health. But there were truths about life that she understood. But Gavi wouldn’t. he was too young to understand.

"Gavi, baby, you don’t have to be so scared about it, alright. You know that Grandpa is getting older and older isn’t it? And that his health is not not being good?" And the little boy looked up to his mother and nodded his head innocently, wetness still at the corner of his eyes. "So, that was also some things that happen to some old people. He was a little relived hearing his mother say that it was nothing much serious with his hreat grandpa earlier. Though, he did not have an idea of the gravity of the situation. Yet, the fact that he saw blood was enough to scare the little boy.

Dove smield at him, but then she said, "But baby, I am here to say something more important to you."

Gavi blinked his eyes, and Dove said, "I heard that you were trying to hide it from me initially and you only told Uncle Dante later, when he asked and coaxed you?" Gavi blinked his eyes, his lips curved down blinking his eyes, and then he turned towards Damte who just gave him an encouraging little nod.

Then he turned his head back to his momma. His ears dropping like a little puppy and he said, "I am worried about you. I was worried that you look have a lot more to worry about and you would be more upset. And you already were so busy on your first day." Seeing her son explaining himself, in such a cute manner, she felt her heart melt. But well, she had to give him a piece of mind, and she said, "Baby. promise me that you are not going to do something like this again. You are my child, and I don’t want you to be hiding such things from me alright. You are justa baby. SO from now on, you are nothing going to hide anything like this. Do you understand, Gavi?"

Gavi looked at his mother, and then back at Dante. Dante pressed his lips from keeping himself from smiling looking at the little boy looking so pitifully adorable. He cleared his throat and then nodded his head, "Your mom is right, Gavi. You must listen to her." Dove nodded at his words, and said, "See, uncle Dante also thinks the same."

"Yes, Momma. I will remember that." And finally, she smiled before she kissed his forehead and said, "Alright, you must now go to sleep alright." And she stayed in the room and patted him to sleep. Gavi too soon fell asleep, before Dove finally left the room.

But when she walked out, she found Dante standing outside.
