Chapter 69: I WOULD DO ANYTHING THAT HE ASKS ME TO

"Dante will be your personal bodyguard. He will have to protect you and your son, from any physicial harm, technological threat, or potential external social harm upto an extent." Hearing Senior Sterling say that, Dove went stiff. Her mouth opened and closed in disbelief.

She then at once shook her head and said, "But grandpa! How is that possible!?" She was stunned beyond say.

Senior Sterling looked back at his granddaughter patiently, as she was clearly a little hyper. And Dove said, "Grandpa, how can Mr Lancaster be my personal bodyguard. That is not his job. He is the CEO of Fort Groups, not it’s employee."

The thought at itself felt very daunting to Dove to think that CEO himself would do a menial job like protecting her, being a simple bodyguard, when it wasn’t even a big deal.

"Grandpa, it isn’t even a big deal! Moreover, if I really got problems, then Mr Lancaster would be at the front if he protects me, and that would directly put him in even more danger. This is absurd, grandpa." Dove really, really thought it was very bad idea. Why not?!

After all, who on the Earth had wished Dante to come for his own protection. Dove pressed her lips not knowing how to process all this.

Seeing that, Senior Sterling said nothing and was calmly sitting on his couch as if he still did not understand the gravity of whatever he said.

Dove sighed and then turned towards Dante, before flashing him a apologetic smile and said, "Mr Lancaster, I am really sorry. I think Grandpa is going overboard with it. You don’t have to do any thing of that sort. I specially am very clear about your duties, and responsibilities that you have. I am fine with your team working for me. And-"

"I have no issues with, Miss Dove." Dante sighed softly before cutting her words in the middle, before she could complete. He for a second closed his eyes before opening them and sighed again. Dante just couldn’t bear listening to her telling him that there was no need for him to be around for the sake of civiliary.

Will this woman ever understand how much crazily was he dying to be around her. At this point, he did not even care in what way he would be around her. All he needed was a chance. And at this, he was even ready to be a cook or a cleaner of her house. He didn’t mind.

Dove went completely quiet listening to him say that he has no issue with it. And looked at him a little dumbly. Eh?

"I have no issues with it, Miss Dove." Dante repeated himself and he continued further, "And I and Grandpa Sterling have very patiently discussed about it, Miss Dove. Yes, it is true that no other client has ever asked me such a thing before, Miss Dove. Neither, they are in any position to make this request nor i would be entertain this.

But Grandpa Sterling, he is not a client for me, Miss Dove. He is my family. And for the first time, he has ever asked me for something, and I am going to keep it even if I have to die no matter how absurd or childish it feels to anyone.

Moreover, it is just a matter of a few months.

And if you are concerned about my safety, then me guarding you would be the most effectively way for you to be guarded. After all, i myself will.have my security, so it will just will a two step authentication for you.

Either ways, if during this time, I see any issues at my own company, we will just have an arrangement in that matter." Dante said with a straight face.

And hearing him say all of this, Dove did not know any longer what she was supposed to say. It was like everything was already pre planned. And it seems like Grandpa hold some very significant place in his heart. That no matter what, and how absurd a request he makes, this man is going to fulfil it for him.

And at that thought, Dove smiled a little in her heart.

Meanwhile, Senior Sterling looked at Dante in quite some humour and he snickered. And he thought, ’Look at him, speaking such big dialogues in front of my granddaughter regarding me to impress her.

Hmph! He made me look like I was the childish one throwing tantrums here and there.

Did he forget, that he was the one who came to me crying like a baby, to give him a chance?! I just decided to be bigger person and help him!’ senior Sterling snickered in his head.

’Well anyways, they are my little children anyway. This old man could keep his face aside for a while for your happiness.’ He then thought again in his heart , deciding to be the bigger person, as he is.

Dove sighed and she said, turning to her grandfather, before glancing at Dante, and then back to Senior Sterling and said, "It seems like you both have already decided, and I was just here to be informed, not to give an opinion about."

To which, Senior Sterling nodded his head and said, "Very rightly said." Dove raised an eyebrow slightly and heard her grandfather say again, "From the time you were in your diapers, little girl, have I ever made a wrong decision for you? So just because this old man is now on his death bed, you will cease to listen to him, hm? Let me atleast do something for you before I leave this world so that my soul rests in peace!"

Dove who was initially smiling hearing him, her smile turned into a frown and she looked at her grandfather in displeasure and shook her head, "Grandpa! This is not something funny to say, alright!"

Senior Sterling blinked his eyes not understanding what made her grand daughter so pissed all of a sudden. "Eh?"

"Grandpa! This is not something funny to be saudy, alright!" Dove said angrily.

Senior Sterling blinked his eyes not understanding what made her grand daughter so pissed all of a sudden. "Eh?" And Dove said with a big frown on her face, "You are still going to live for years! And why are you again and again saying that you are going to leave us soon!

Grandpa, being an elder you should not set a bad example. Lying is a bad thing. All i see is that you are still as fit as a cow." Dove said. Her words a little rushed. And if anyone looked at her closely then they could see that the rim of her eyes and her nose had turned slightly red.

It was evident that she did not like him saying things of this sort.

Senior Sterling’s eyes softened and he was about to say something more, when all of them in the room heard a little sniff. When they turned about, they all found out Gavi who was having big tears drops flowing down his eyes, with his lips quivering as he looked at his great grandpa accusing.

And his look took everyone aback by a little, especially Senior Sterling. Senior Sterling moved his attention away from the older ones, and he at once looked at the little one crying, as she rubbed his face messily with his little arms wetting his sleeve.

"Oh! Why is our Gavi crying?" Senior Sterling at once reached out to him having no problems as the little boy was just sitting beside him.

Gavi’s lips quivered as he let himself be engulfed with the old man’s slightly shaking arms around him.

"What happen, Gavi? Why are you sad? Did someone tell you something?" He asked very gently, to which Gavi raised his head looking at Senior Sterling accusingly and he said, "Yes! You, Great Grandpa! You are so meanie! Very, very meanie! A big meanie you are."

Senior Sterling blinked his eyes, a little stunned by the little boy’s accusations. And he blinked before saying, "What mistake did this old man do, little one? Why are you so angry at me?"

Gavi hiccuped a little and said in a shalu voice, "Gavi finally came to Great Grandpa, thinking that you will play with me. But now you are talking about leavinv us alone and going. You are so mean!"

At his little childish words, Senior Sterling his heart melting, he caressed his head and said, "But my child, I am growing old and I have to go one day, isn’t it?" But Gavriel shook his head with all his might and he said, "No! No! No! I am not letting great grandpa go anywhere. I am not letting you go anywhere." And as he said that, he clutched the sides of the old man’s shawl even tightly.

Senior Sterling smiled at him before caressing his head and then heard him say, "Mamma said just now that you are as fit as a cow! You are not leaving us anywhere."
