Meanwhile, Freya had an entirely different reaction. She looked at Dove and Senior Sterling with a big frown. At this point, she did not care how it would be for Dove to handle all those together that Senior Sterling was Saying. All she only heard was that, she had just given her a large asset, to take control. Senior Sterling had already declared her the heir of the entire Sterling Corporation.

While, she had always hoped that Noah at least gets that position there. In fact, she would sometime even tell Senior Sterling very subtly about it. After all, though Noah was in a good and important position in the Sterling Corporation, he still did not have anything of his own to hold more power. And her son, see couldn’t eve that boy did not even try harder that way to get those positions.

"Senior Sterling! Why are you giving Dove that position just like that? She is still so young to handle that position." Freya couldn’t help but say.

Senior Sterling turned his head towards her, and raised his brows, "Why Freya? Why should I not give her the position?"

Freya who herself had not expected to speak out like that blinked her eyes in shock not knowing how she brought herself to here, but she had to clear herself and said, "F- Father, Dove is still so young for that position."

"Freya, Dove is already the future heiress of the entire Sterling Corporation. And if she has already decided upon such a huge thing as her pregnancy on her own, then she should probably show her capabilities by handling that branch there too with it. And it would also turn out to be a practice for her. And moving on, she is the only heir of the Sterlings, Whom should we be passing iit all if not her?"

Freya had nothing more to say as she quietened down and lowered her eyes. But from the corner of her eyes, she glared at her son. When she got married into this family, Noah was already fifteen years old. At that time, he was adopted by her second husband, Dove’s father as the part of Sterling family. But when Noah turned eighteen, he took a huge decision to annul the adaptation. Though Freya was very much against it, but Noah had already discussed it with her husband and just after a year of that her husband passed away too in a car accident.

And thus, Noah took the surname of his birth father, who had also passed away when he was a kid. Henley.

And that made him not a Sterling at all, not even by name. But her second husband, still considered him as a son, and asked him to stay in the house.

Freya glared at her son, who did nothing but stand there quietly looking unbothered about Dove getting the position at the company abroad.

And thus, in that way, the discussion was brought to an end in the Sterling family. Dove would be leaving in a week’s time. And for today, Dove asked Lisa to stay with her for a while more. Dove and Lisa were in her room, where Lisa asked Dove with curiosity. "Dove, I just noticed that you have a very odd equation with your step mother and brother. Why is that? Are they too like the annoying and evil step family like they show in the dramas and the movies?"

Dove, who was considerably in a good mood than before smiled at Lisa’s question and shrugged lightly. She did not want to go into a deeper aspect of it. And just said, "Well, if I just had to say it in simple sense, they are not bad people. But I just prefer them away from my life." Lisa blinked her eyes at her and though Dove did not answer her question very clearly, but her vague answer was clear for her to understand. Freya Sterling and her son were not someone whom Dove would categorise as evil people. But she would prefer not to associate to them much with herself.

After a while, Lisa left and Dove took a shower before sitting in front of the mirror. She had a small smile on her lips, as her eyes fell on her stomach. And she touched it, "Hey," she whispered softly. Dove had never felt this kind of feeling before. She got more and more amazed, the more she thought about having a tiny life growing inside of her right now. Dove gigged sillily and stroked her lower stomach before saying, "Baby," she said so softly, that it would be barely audible to anyone else even if they were in there. "Baby, do you know Momma fought for you today?"

Dove felt such a strange emotion on calling herself a mother. But suddenly that felt as the most right thing to happen. "Do you know she took stand for you?" she giggled again, befre gently stroking her stomach, that showed no signs of pregnancy at all. "I am waiting for you. And your mother is enough to protect you always."

Later at night, Dove lay on the her bed, and her thoughts went back on whatever happened in the entire day. There was a lot of roller coaster of emotions happening, but at the end, at least things went right. But then, her thoughts stopped on Noah, who acted weirdly for himself and she frowned. "He had already given up on his pathetic acting of showing concern for me. What brings him around the corner with it again?" She whispered.

After her father remarried again for her sake, when she was twelve, and Freya came into their lives with Noah. At first, Dove was very happy and excited, but after a year or two, growing up, Dove understood that Freya wasn’t really meaning to be as sweet and kind to her as she showed her father and grandfather. Dove was just an additional responsibility that she felt that had fallen on her shouders after marrying into this family.
