Chapter 45: DOESN’T HAVE A FATHER

Dove waited for her grandfather to say something, while looking at him. She wanted to show him that she was very serious about this decision and had made up her mind. But before Senior Sterling could even say anything, it was Noah who burst out. "Dove! What’s the meaning of this?!"

And at this sudden outburst, they all turned their attention to Noah, who stood there glaring at Dove with her hands turned into fist. Dove frowned looking at Noah, since he wouldn’t normally create any chaos or even speak something no matter what good or bad happens to her. Dove had thrown a slap across Noah’s face, and said, "He has a father!" She said, though deep down she knew that what he said was true. But still the new emotions building inside her did not allow her to listen to such things regarding her child. So, she just pulled up with the story she had created last day.

"I have already cleared, that man isn’t in the position to show up, I am not allowing anyone to degrade my kid like this. My child has a father! You understand!" Noah held the cheek that was slapped by her and he looked at her. He did not say anything else but just stared at her fuming face.

He had never see her so aggravated like this.

Dove did not bother with him any more, and turned towards her grandfather and walked up to him. "Grandpa! I am keeping this child. Please say something."

Senior Simon Sterling stared at Dove for a moment more, before he said, "So you have made up your mind?" And he saw her nod her head. And then he said again, "And you say that the child’s father isn’t in the position to marry you right now?" And Dove again nodded her head slowly, and slightly lowered her head.

"You want to go abroad during your pregnancy and complete your studies there before coming back?" He repeated what she said earlier. And Dove nodded, "Yes grandfather."

Senior Sterling then stood up and nodded, "If that is so, then alright, Dove. I give you the freedom for that." And when Dove heard that, her face brightened with a sigh of relief left her mouth.

"But," Senior Sterling was not done speaking and he added. "You have to prove your self, and do that all by yourself in that country."

Dove waited for the grandfather to say. And he had the condition that, he will be sending her abroad in a country, where there company had its production sites, and operated the foreign business. She would have to take charge of those companies, after she goes from here. She would be spending four years there, while completing her university degree, and would be taking care of her pregnancy with it.

After four years, she would have to come back to the country, and take over the main business too. Hearing all this, a deep frown appeared on Lisa’s face, as she looked at Senior Sterling in disbelief. "Has this old man gone completely crazy? That’s his own granddaughter! It’s pregnancy, for God’s sake! How will she be doing that?" she murmured.

Dove heard it all, and nodded with a subtle smile. In contrary to Lisa’s thoughts, Dove was relieved to hear that. Because she understood Senior Sterling. And knew that this is the best arrangement for now. By his tone, she could tell her grandfather was not happy with her keeping the pregnancy. But with this, he is giving her time, freedom from the society’s judgements here that know her, and also giving her a certain financial independence and power by talking over the company abroad. If she had nothing, people would taunt her and speak of her. But if she had power, people would speak of her, but keep their tones down. And no matter what they say, they would be demanded to show respect. And Dove would prefer the second.

With this, he also wants her to prove that she was ready to take this challenges. Dove understood it well.
