Chapter 43: HE DID NOT HAVE THE RIGHT

Chapter 43: HE DID NOT HAVE THE RIGHT

Calix saw how Dante’s face brightened up on hearing that the woman that he is so obsessed with, is pregnant with his child. But it was a pity that that woman, is not his. And what he was about to tell next would be a sharp slap of this reality. "Boss, and she had booked an appointment for tomorrow, at a clinic. For abortion purpose."

And just like he imagined. Dante’s whole body froze, and his smile went stiff, as if a bucket of cold icy water has been splashed on him. He stood there standing in blankness for a while, before he sat back down. His entire demeanor darkly empty and he said, "I understand." But in reality, what he was wanting was to rush back to her and hold her and stop her. But did he have the right to do that? No.

Dante had the plan to approach her in a few days, and admit the truth about themselves. He had given themselves time. And he did not want each other to be left like that. But after whatever chaos happened today, especially with what happened with his father despite the security, he realised that he wasn’t ready now. Dove? That unknown young lady, he hadn’t even talked to even once. She had made him so crazy about her, that he just want to give her the best of best. She was like a crystal ball of light in his dark abyss world, that he was chasing. And not only chasing but wanting to keep safe and treasure it.

And right now, his logical and conscious side was telling him not to approach her. Because right now, his world was a chaos. He couldn’t bring her close to him, to put her in danger. He want to put all his time and energy in her. And what avoided him from going to her even more, was that child in her womb. Dante might have felt excited when he heard the news. Because she was Dove?

But after hearing that she was considering abortion, he could only imagine what trauma she might be facing right now. After all, she is a young lady, who is just suppose to start her life. But she is now pregnant with a child, she doesn’t even know whose it is.

Dante was so torn at this point. He wanted to go and approach her! He wanted to make her his! He wanted her so bad! But despite that, he was binded. If he listened to his heart, he knew he would put her in danger. And thus, he did not want that.

If she really wanted that... he did not have any right to put any objection in it. Who was he after all? He couldn’t end her life. And create more hatred for himself in her heart.

Calix looked at his Boss, who had gone completely silent and though he did not know what he was thinking. He knew one thing, and that was that the man was torn between his emotions, with everything happening in his life altogether.

Next day, Lisa had accompanied Dove to the appointment to the clinic. There was a queue, and there turn was yet to come so they had to wait.

Hey talked to the receptionist, and were asked to sit and wait till there turn came.

"Dove, are you feeling well?" Lisa asked Dove, who had that lost expression from yesterday. Dove looked at her friend and forced a smile and looked out of the window.

Was she okay? No she was not. Dove did not know why, but she had this omnious feeling since yesterday. It felt as if something was not going right. Though, nothing was going right at all. But now it was even more stronger.

Her eyes fell on the numerous posters around of babies, and expecting mothers, with various information and things written in there. And she couldn’t move her eyes away from it when she saw a poster, where there was an art of a motherly figure having a baby being nurtured in her womb. The words down the figure was, "The tiny life you make. The part of you. The part of your flesh, blood and soul."

"A part of me?" She whispered inaudibly to anyone.

The vision in front of her blurred as she remembered a childhood memory of hers, when her mother was still alive. Little Dove came running to her mom with a small doll in her hand and showed it to her mother, with a wide smile on her face. Her front milk teeth that had fallen, making her smile even more adorable. And she said, "Mamma, see! This is my baby! You have become a grandmother now!"

Dove’s mother turned to look at Dove, before she chuckled and said, "Is it? Oh my! My Dove has become a mother?" And Dove nodded her head profusely. "So, did I have a grandson or a granddaughter, my dear?" Dove blinked at the question, before she looked at the doll, which was simply a ’baby-doll’ and not gender could be identified. So she simply shrugged and said, "I don’t know. I will think about it later. For now, you are just the grandma." Her mother laughed and nodded, "Alright. Alright. I understand."

Dove gleed, and then she thought about something and she looked at her mother curiously and asked, "Mamma. Can I ask you something?"

Her mother nodded her head and said, "Anything, my child."

"Mamma, was I also there inside your tummy before coming in this world?" Dove asked, as she gently poked her stomach over her mother’s dress.

Her mother giggled, before she carried Dove in her arms and sat on the couch and said, "Oh my, Dove. How do you already know so much?" And seeing her mother praise her. Dove smiled proudly and asked, "Yes! My teacher taught us! She told us that we should always love our parents. Because our mamma, keep us in their tummy for nine months, and our daddy protect us. And when we come in the world, our mamma and papa, both protect us and give us happiness. So we should love our parents. So, did you also keep me in your tummy?"
