It wasn’t as if Dove was ignoring him, in fact, she talked to him quite normally. Normal enough, how a person talks to someone responsible for her safety.

And after the many days that Dante had spent around Dove, he did not feel it was normal. After all, she wouldn’t even look up at him from time to time, and smile at him like she normally does.

Dove just had her head lowered, concentrating on her work and not looking anywhrtr else. At this, Dante frowned but then sighed and mentally shook his head. He did not know what was up, but he thought that maybe it was just him over thinking all of this.

After all, Dove was actually very busy, given that the company was getting the paper works ready. And no matter how much the Davis’ did not want to co-operate, they had no option. And as the Sterling Corporations has also retrieved the two large scale projects, so she actually got a lot on her plate.

Dante sighed and he tried to convince himself that, it was just him reading too much in the lines. Everything must be just fine. After all, just yesterday, he and Dove had spent such a good time talking to each other.

Meanwhile, Dove felt her hand shake, and her heart race. Though, she had her head casted downwards and was pretending to be very engrossed in what ever work she was doing, in reality she was hyper aware of his almost piercing gaze on her.

Her lips shook, and she took a deep breath. Why is he looking at her like that? Did she have something on her face? But she had her face down on the files! Then was there something on her head?

Suddenly, Dove turned very conscious. And after a little moment, she couldn’t help but raise her head slightly to look at Dante.

And when Dante saw her raise her head to look at him, a smile instantly graced his lips. And seeing that he was already looking at her, she felt her heart leap to her throat.

Flustered, she looked left and right, before gulping and forcing a smile.

Then she saw him stand up, and walk towards her, and her eye slightly widened, not knowing how to react. Even Dove felt a little bit embarrassed when she recognised how she was reacting.

Calming her heart, she saw him come in front of her desk, and lean on her desk and ask, "It seems like you have a lot of work on your plate. Would you like some help, Miss employer?"

Dove stared at his face and for a brief second, feeling herself get lost, before she put her consciousness back to herself, smiling at him a little and shook her head saying, "No, thank you for asking, Dante. But I can handle it."

And now that, she was back at smiling and talking to him, Dante felt his heart soothe a little, though he was not fully satisfied. Anyway, at least a little bit of something was better than nothing at all.

He grinned at her, and asked again, "Are you sure?" At this, Dove pressed her lips together, frowning a little. Truth to be told, him telling that he could help her with her work, it indeed felt tempting.

It wasn’t like it was the first time that she was having a little more heavy work load. In fact, she had handled so much more than this already.

And she decided to not sway. "Thank you for asking, Dante. But I can really handle it. Moreover, if you continue always helping me, than I will turn lazy and my brain with be lagging behind. And then I will be habituated to it." She laughed it off. But after saying the last few lines, Dove secretly bit the tip of her tongue. She felt that she should not have said that.

And hearing that, Dante smiled at her and shook his head. "I would be honoured, Dove. Moreover, I don’t mind if you get habituated to it for life." He said grinning.

And though Dante meant each syllable that he said, but it was not the same for Dove.

He is just saying for the sake of saying, Dove. Don’t think too much about it! She warned herself in her mind.

Then looking at him with a small frown, she pressed her lips together, almost looking at him with eyes full of complaints.

Does he do it willingly or is he even remotely aware of how charming he looks right now!

But Dove had made up her mind to not let it go astray.

Huh! He already has someone in his heart! But look at his charming nature! Does he not realise that!

Her internal thought and her heart, both of them were at a war with each other. And the next second, she closed the file in her hand with a loud clap and she huffed, "I am sure about it, Dante! I am an experienced and capable woman! I can handle this little things by my own self!"

Her sudden outburst, made him go speechless, and he blinked. Then he saw her stand up, before arranging the files on top of another. She then turned on her heels and walked towards the longue area for some touch ups maybe. And while she went, she turned to look at him and said, "I had a meeting with all the directors and executives in five minutes now. I am going to get ready." And she entered the room, leaving Dante standing there dumbly.

Uh? Why did she turn angry at me? After a moment’s thought, he pouted his lips feeling a little saddened. It is not that I am questioning her capabilities. I am very sure of them. I just wanted to help her.

And just like that, Dante thought that maybe she was mad because she thought, that he was telling her that she was not capable with his words. Sighing, he said, "I should ask her for forgiveness in case she is very mad." Because that was the last thing that he wanted right now.
