Mr Bodyguard, Protect Your Heart!
Chapter 133: SHE BLOCKED HIM!

Chapter 133: SHE BLOCKED HIM!

Later, at Sterling Corporation, most of the executives and higher-ups were discussing the commotion involving the Davis family.

Just then, another man approached them. Seeing the group gossiping, he cheerfully walked up and asked, "Hey! What are you guys talking about?"

The man who had been sharing the news looked up at the newcomer, his eyes lighting up. "Oh! Where were you? Come, come! I have something very interesting to tell you!"

The newcomer smiled and raised an eyebrow. "Something interesting? Really?"

"Yes! I had been looking for you! Haha!" The second man giggled.

The first man smiled. "I’m sorry, I was at the CEO’s office. I had something important to show CEO Dove. It took a little time."

At that, the rest of the group went silent, blinking in surprise. The man who had been speaking blinked once, then again before exclaiming in disbelief, "You were at the CEO’s office?"

The first man nodded cluelessly. "Yes? Why? What’s wrong?"

"B-but wasn’t Dove not in her office? Or did she come back so soon? Or... is she deliberately ghosting the Davises?! Such spicy gossip!" But alas, they couldn’t pry further into the matter at that moment.

---

Later that evening, sitting in the backseat of her car, Dove chuckled to herself before giggling a little and pressing her lips together to suppress it. Hearing her giggle, Gavi, who was sitting in the passenger seat, turned around to look at his mother. Dante, who was driving, also glanced at Dove through the rearview mirror.

Gavi asked curiously, "Mom? What happened? Why are you giggling?"

Dove cleared her throat before smiling at her son. "It’s nothing, baby. I just remembered a joke."

Gavi blinked and then nodded. "Oh! I see."

Dante continued looking at Dove through the mirror. Their eyes met, and both of them chuckled, fully aware of what was going on in Dove’s head.

Dove then turned towards the window, staring out of it. The Davis family? They would surely try something soon, and Dove had to be ready for it at all times. She knew how they operated, how they would try to push back against her decision. But she had made up her mind. There was no turning back now. She had plans set in motion, and she would not allow anyone to interfere.

Meanwhile, at the Sterling Mansion, Senior Sterling chuckled as he read the reports Noah had sent him earlier about what had happened at the company.

He laughed as if he had just heard a hilarious joke. Butler Joe, who was sitting beside Senior Sterling’s bed, cutting fruit for him, looked up curiously, wondering what had made his master laugh so much.

Senior Sterling grinned. It was clear to him that Dove was deliberately ignoring the Davises.

After hearing about what had happened with Philip and Roan, another thing that amused him was what had occurred with Jacob.

Jacob and Philip had been out of town for work-related matters, so they had not been aware of the situation earlier. They only found out later in the day when Philip contacted Jacob regarding Dove’s so-called "baseless" decision. Grace and Noah had already proven to be of no help.

However, Philip had a good relationship with Jacob, and the latter assured him that he would look into the matter. He was serious about it.

Yet, after hearing what Dove had done, Jacob was not just upset about her abrupt decision, which had seemingly turned into a disaster for his friend. He was secretly overjoyed.

Not because he took pleasure in Davis Enterprises’ misfortune, but because he believed Dove had dug her own grave.

Like Roan and Philip, Jacob firmly believed that Dove was just being petty and had made a ridiculous decision. He was confident that this would upset the company’s executives and higher-ups.

He promised Philip that he would help, thinking that if he did so, Philip would owe him a favor, and the other executives would see him as the one who saved the company.

That would also lead to questions about Senior Sterling’s decision to appoint Dove as CEO.

Then, everyone would finally realize that he, Jacob, had always been the best choice for the position—not that little girl!

With those thoughts making him gleeful, he decided to use his authority as a director of the company and as Dove’s uncle to call her and give her an earful about her decision. He intended to order her to put things back to how they were.

When he called, Dove glanced at the caller ID for a long time before sighing and answering. What could her uncle possibly have to say now? Whatever it was, she doubted it would be anything pleasant.

Still, since he was out of town for work-related matters, she answered, wondering if it was something important regarding that.

But just as she picked up the call—

"He—" Before she could even say "hello?"—

A loud and authoritative voice boomed from the other side. "Dove! What do you think you are doing?! Do you think just because you’re the CEO now, you can make abrupt and nonsensical decisions however you like?!

"Why have you severed all ties with Davis Enterprises?! And now you’re not even answering their calls?!

"Where the hell are you?!"

After the first three seconds of hearing Jacob’s rant, Dove quietly placed the phone aside, letting him continue while she focused on her work.

Once she was sure he had finished his lecture, she picked up the phone again and calmly said, "Well, just because I’m the CEO, can I make whatever decisions I like? Yes. And where am I? Partying. Also, do I owe you an explanation? No."

And with that, she hung up on him, leaving him utterly dumbstruck.

Jacob blinked, taking a few seconds to register what had just happened. Then, his face turned red with rage.

"That wench dares to talk to me like this?!" he gritted his teeth, clenching his fists tightly.

To him, no matter how high Dove’s position was, she was still his junior. As her uncle, he believed she should listen to him.

She had no right to talk to him like that!

Furious, he called her again, determined to be stricter with his words. How dare she hang up on him?! And she was partying at this hour? Shouldn’t she be at the company, working?! How was this brat supposed to handle such a massive responsibility?

But just as he dialed her number again, a robotic voice greeted him:

[The number you are trying to reach is unavailable at the moment.]

Then, with a beep, the call ended.

Jacob stood there, stunned. Then realization dawned—Dove had not only hung up on him but had also blocked his number!

"How dare she?!"

---

Senior Sterling giggled as he recalled the incident.

Yes, it was true that while he was still in charge of the company, they had been working on securing a few major projects with Davis Enterprises.

However, now he had learned that Dove had pulled Sterling Corporation out of everything involving Davis Enterprises.

Though he was initially surprised, Senior Sterling merely shrugged it off.

He had immense trust in his granddaughter, knowing she must have made that decision after careful consideration.

Also, he knew that the Davis’ family have done something to rile up her. Or else, she wouldn’t do something like that.

And Dante told him about it.

Though, he had somewhere hoped a little that Dove would discuss it with him, before she did it. But later, Dante called him to tell him what Dove was planning. And what had happened with the lady of the Davis’ family.

Dove was worried about confronting it whole in front of Senior Sterling, as if would undoubtedly go back to the reason, that is Gavi’s father. She was still scared to confront it all to him. After all, Dove did not know that Senior Sterling knows it all.

Anyway, he was satisfied that Dante kept him updated. Knowing the Davis’, they must be very furious. Also he was actually proud that Dove took that step after what Cara Davis did.

Anyway, it was her position and her responsibility now. And she had always been smarter than people gave her credit for. He leaned back with a satisfied smile, eager to see what Dove would do next.

He leaned back and laughed, while, Butler Joe looked up at him again, before he passed him the plate of freshly cut fruits.
