Chapter 107: ISN’T THAT THE CEO?

They did a quick reservation of a table, and ordered the food, as Gavi enthusiastically chose what he wanted to have.

As their food was being ordered, Dove, Gavi and Dante were chatting among themselves. It was when a group of ladies entered the restaurant.

"Oh, Mrs Davis, this place that you have recommended looks really nice." One of them woman among them said to Mrs Davis, who was with them.

Cara Davis giggled when another woman said, "And why not, has any suggestion that Cara has even given us about anything bad?"

Cara laughed and then said, "Oh you guys, I am very flattered. Now let it be." The other ladies smiled at her.

Then Cara excused a waiter and said, "Excuse me, we have booked a table."

The waiter nodded at them, before asking the details, and then led them to their table.

And the group of ladies settled down, before they talked to each other deciding what food to order.

And just then, one of them ladies blinked a little before raising her eyebrows, as she noticed Dove sitting at a table across them.

"Isn’t that the new CEO of Sterling Corporation?" She said out, catching the attention of those with her.

The other ladies looked at her, before turning around to look at where she said. Meanwhile, Cara Davis froze on hearing Dove’s name.

W- what? She is here?

And she slowly turned around to where the woman with her was showing she was. And there she spotted Dove with a little kid and a man at the table across them. And she squinted her eyes at them.

All of those ladies were from business families. There husbands were business men, so they naturally had some knowlege about what was going on in the cricle. And moreover, the interview that Dove gave, and the sudden taking over of the CEO’s position without the prior knowledge of many people, except the higher executives gained a lot of attention.

Moreover, many of them had seen her growing up, as they were from the same circles, who would meet up once in a while, during common events.

And they had also seen her interview when it was telecasted, about how she retorted when the reporter asked taunting question about her son.

"It has almost been more than four years, I had last seen her." One of the woman said.

"Is that her son with her?" She said looking at the small kid on the same table as hers, who was excitedly talking.

Another woman nodded her head and said, "Hm, seems like it."

"But who is that man with her? Is that her husband?" Another one wondered aloud.

"But she isn’t married yet."

"Then is that man the father of the kid?" And when one of them said that, the rest of the women quitened down a bit.

After all, if they remembered it correctly, there was a headline made when Dove casually let out a hint that though she wasn’t married, it did not mean that the father of the child wasn’t involved.

But then they remembered something, and turned towards Cara, who was sitting on the same table as them. She had her face turned straight, and was looking down.

Cara also looked at Dove, her kid and the man in that table, behaving like a happy family. And the more she looked at the woman, the more her suppressed rage flourished.

The anger she had felt four years ago, at the Sterling family mansion, and the way this girl had disregarded her and disrespected her family, all came tumbling back.

The other ladies too looked at Cara, for a moment not knowing what to say, as it turned to be a little awkward situation. After all, it was a known fact in their own circle that Cara’s son, Roan and Dove had been engaged for quite a few years, before their engagement broke all of sudden.

And then Dove left for abroad. No one knew what was the exact reason for their separation. And it was just said that the two did not get along to be a married to each other.

But it was said that they were still on good terms.

After all, Senior Sterling and Mr Davis would still talk to each other whenever they met at any events.

No one really knew much about Dove after that. And after she came back from abroad, did many people come to know that she had been pregnant, and has a kid of three years old or so.

Many people just speculated that she got pregnant after she felt for abroad.

So one of them just casually asked, "When did you come to know about it, Cara?"

Meanwhile, the more Cara felt those awkward eyes on her, of her friends, the more her skin burned. And given the rage that was already inside her, she scoffed quite loudly to be audible and said, "What is the need for talking about such people, everyone?"

"Hm?" The other ladies looked at her a little confused.

Cara Davis was right now clouded by the years old rage. And she huffed, "Some people are just shameless. The one who cannot remain faithful to her own fiance, and goes out spending nights out with people, what do you think I should know about her.

And you know what we Davis family, just don’t accept shameless people in our family. We would rather cut out of it.

So don’t ask me about that woman, or anything related to her."

The women blinked their eyes, as some realisation drawned upon one of them and they lightly gasped, "So are you telling us that it was started when she was still with Roan?" And if that was so, the. It was also understandble why the engagement broke out so abruptly.

"Or what?" Cara Davis scoffed. And this time, she was loud enough for a few people to listen to her voice. "And that kid? No one even knows how the father is. If he would really be involved, then where is he? I doubt some bitches just go around entertaining so many of them, that she herself doesn’t remember." And Cara’s anger made her spill out way more than what was needed or had been asked.
