Chapter 122: Chapter 85 Guidance System Upgrade (First Update)

Primordial Altar.

After observing for several days, Qi Sheng found that the live stream room hosted by "Li Zheng," a player of the Liver Emperor Group, has become a permanent fixture at the top of the popularity charts.

During their resurrection cooldown time, many players would enter Li Zheng’s live stream room to watch and gossip.

The mealtime brawls every day make the bullet comments fly across the screen, making the live stream room particularly lively.

The valiant performance of Li Zheng and the other Liver Emperor Group players, along with their crazy hunger-resisting tactics, earned them a nickname on the forums: Starving Wolf Group.

Their performance is in stark contrast to Lu Xing, who backpedals and admits defeat.

And some eager gossiping masses have made a bunch of emoticon packs for them.

For example: Stop eating, everyone (them kicking over the dining table), hunger training begins (Liver Emperor Group entering the dining hall from behind), Macho Elbow Strike, I reign in the dining hall, crazy late-night snack stealing (Liver Emperor Group players closing the door and eating voraciously), smack, the food is gone (the despairing expression of a new Four Eyes Clan member staring at an overturned plate on the floor), and so on.

Screenshots from these live streams, paired with text, have become as popular and perennial on the forums as the Explorer series emoticons and the God of Wealth series emoticons.

The difference is that the emoticons of Li Zheng and the others are generally used when expressing positive content.

While the God of Wealth series and Explorer series are generally used for negative content assessment.

What Qi Sheng slightly regrets is that he still can’t learn the specifics of the Reverse Tide Army through people like Li Zheng, nor who the Reverse Tide is, and where they are now.

The first training camp is just one location within the vast territory of the Reverse Tide Army, and it’s impossible to track down their exact location.

However, Qi Sheng isn’t in a hurry about this problem.

During the days when Li Zheng and the others entered the training camp, the growth rate of the Player Corps also significantly increased.

During this period, the Horror Black Tide ravaged once again, and he released another round of game qualifications.

The total number of players has now reached 17,523, and the income from sacrificial power has surged during this period; everything is developing in the predetermined direction.

The biggest gain, without doubt, is the successful containment of three new Primordial Monsters.

These three Primordials were hunted and contained by players in the "Bone-Burying Wilderness" to the north of the Earth Split Furnace, and they are:

[Slow (Third Generation Primordial)]:

Primordial Traits Introduction: Domain-type trait. Once activated, a domain is generated with the caster at its center, pulling targets within the domain and restricting their action efficiency (continuous spiritual power consumption during activation, with adjustable coverage area. The larger the coverage area, the higher the spiritual power consumption).

The monster possessing this trait looks like a 3-meter tall black rock, covered in various complex spiritual patterns, with a Hunting Level of 34. Its movements in combat are slow, and the domain ability it releases causes players who get close to experience "Slow Motion."

It was captured by the Divine Hall Guild’s leader, "Divine King," leading the guild members after a 2-hour endurance battle. To sustain the fight, they spent nearly 1500 points of sacrificial power on potions in the marketplace.

[Thunderbolt (Second Generation Primordial)]:

Primordial Traits Introduction (Active): Continuously consumes spiritual power to transform into a sphere of lightning, causing electric shock damage to touched targets, accompanied by a body paralysis effect (the specific paralysis effect depends on the target’s Body Strength. The higher the Body Strength, the less the impact).

The monster possessing this trait is a spherical lightning bolt wrapped in electric arcs, with a Hunting Level of 23.

It was contained in an area full of beast bones to the west of the Bone-Burying Wilderness.

The hunting combat was quite intense. The Thunderbolt Monster was known as a melee fighter’s nemesis—any close contact would result in electric shock paralysis. In the end, it was difficultly contained by a team of Solo Players using long-range attrition tactics.

The small team of players also received a rich reward.

[Roar (First Generation Primordial)]:

Primordial Traits Introduction (Active): Creates a conical spread of sound waves centered around itself, causing continuous spiritual shock damage to the targets hit. Once the damage exceeds the target’s threshold for tolerance, they fall into states of mental disarray, dizziness, and other negative effects.

The Primordial Monster possessing this trait looks very much like a real-world brown bear, with intertwined red and blue fur, an exceedingly large body, reaching five meters in length, and an overwhelming presence when standing, akin to a towering iron tower blocking the way. Its Hunting Level is 39.

Besides having formidable Physical Fitness and terrifying regenerative ability, the most fearsome aspect is the roar it emits, which spreads in a cone shape forward, causing any player caught in the sound to fall into a state of heavy-headed dizziness and clouded consciousness, losing all combat ability in short order.

The process of containing the Roar was exceptionally difficult.

An 18-person squad that first encountered this Primordial Monster was all killed shortly after engaging with the Roar. Subsequently, a large number of players who heard the news launched wave after wave of relayed, life-staking attacks, which finally killed and contained the exhausted Roar.

The successful containment of these three New Life Souls added many new combinations to the Star Vein School’s framework.

Especially the "Slow" Life Soul, which is hailed by players as the strongest Life Soul of this version without a rival.

The sole testing effect of the Slow Life Soul seems suited for melee-type players, allowing them to reduce the target’s action efficiency and enhancing their own melee attack efficiency.

However, subsequent tests showed that Domain-type Life Souls paired with other Magic System Life Souls under the Main Form exhibited even stronger effects.

For example, Slow + Bone Fire + Energy Absorption + Shu Fu.

Under the Main Form, when these four abilities are combined and released, an Ink Flame Domain centered on oneself can be formed, causing continuous group damage to targets within the domain, with all targets within the coverage area affected by both the Slow and Shu Fu traits effects.
