MMORPG: Divine Mech Hunter
Chapter 940 - Chapter 940 Chapter 940 Melee

Chapter 940: Chapter 940 Melee Chapter 940: Chapter 940 Melee Compared to others, the Starfire stronghold was very quiet. There was no sign of the enemy anywhere. Starfire’s people were perplexed and wondered what was happening.

In fact, Starfire had sent out quite a few scouts, and these scouts were known as Hunters.

At this stage, although Hunters were not favored for dungeon groups, they were unparalleled when it came to scouting in army battles.

Without a doubt, the role of Hunters during legion warfare was crucial.

Whether it was using Eagle Eye Technique or controlling flying pets to scout, their roles were absolutely key.

Compared to thieves, Hunters had a greater advantage in scouting, and they were also safe from danger, able to relay what they observed at any time.

The battlefield was neither small nor particularly large.

As the battle began, scouts were dispatched and had basically understood the situation in this area.

Once the contest started, a great battle had already erupted, with various guilds attacking each other.

But Starfire remained unchallenged, which felt strangely eerie to those who were prepared for a major fight.

“Are these people intimidated? They haven’t attacked us,” Angel lamented.

“If the enemy keeps not attacking, we will be eliminated just by defending,” Sister Li expressed her concern.

It wasn’t an impossibility, considering the final score was based on points, not just survival.

“It’s good if they don’t attack. We can use this time to rest and reorganize,” Li Yao was not worried at all: “Since that’s the case, let’s all light campfires and prepare the appropriate food. The coming battle won’t be easy, so it’s best to prepare some cooking that can replenish our stamina.”

Starfire’s members lit numerous campfires, grilling meat and cooking rice, which left the spectators speechless.

While other places were fraught with life-and-death battles, the spot they thought would be most thrilling was calm, which disappointed them to some extent.

Although Starfire was idle, Li Yao and several others were always ready to receive reports from the scouts, and Li Yao had released his Fire Eagle to search for the battlefields he was concerned about.

The other core members of Starfire were also busy, recording the trump cards and special items displayed by the various guilds as reported by the scouts.

They then reported their findings to Unparalleled Beauty and Sister Li, who would craft detailed response strategies and defensive measures accordingly.

In this way, the people of Starfire felt they had gained a lot and did not believe their time was wasted.

Indeed, many guilds had achieved surprising victories by maximizing their intelligence and wit.

Li Yao had once utilized many strange items to accomplish feats many thought impossible, which had broadened everyone’s thinking.

For example, there was a guild that excelled at small-scale team combat.

Of course, this was nearly every player’s weakness since players were too individualistic. Although they formed legions, when compared to NPC legions, the players were too lax.

During the first phase, this guild’s ranking was not at the top; they used all their points to exchange for cheap, nearly-unwanted Earth Scrolls – Terrain Shaping Scrolls.

Using the scrolls, they separated their enemies. For example, they divided the tanks from the damage dealers, and the healers from the damage dealers.

Players were unable to coordinate effectively, and they maintained the integrity of their small teams, thereby dividing and conquering.

This guild was also a large one, but it wasn’t a member of the super guilds, and in terms of combat power, it was far inferior to the super guilds.

But it was with such tactics that the super guilds, which once sought to take them down, were defeated and sunk into the sand.

The super guild had redeemed siege vehicles, stone throwers, and strong crossbows, but under the influence of the Terrain Shaping Scrolls, these were rendered useless.

Especially the strong crossbow, if it could be used effectively, it could mow down the large guild’s army like cutting grass, but they never got the chance.

After the skirmish, the guild implemented divide and conquer tactics; even running was not an option for them–they simply collapsed.

Not to mention the items redeemed by these super guilds, they had plenty of good stuff to begin with, like various potions and elixirs, as well as special items. But without coordination, the effectiveness of these items was limited.

This battle attracted the attention of the majority of people, and there was a look of astonishment on the faces of the audience–a super guild was actually wiped out by a large guild, and the large guild had virtually no losses.

The large guild then began slowly resurrecting their fallen comrades. Although resurrection during battle was slow, with many players and various methods at their disposal, and minimal losses, they quickly replenished their numbers.

Moreover, their gains were enormous. The super guild’s points and items such as strong crossbows, siege vehicles, and others were all claimed by the large guild, boosting their power by a great margin.

Other battlefields likewise displayed many impressive strategies, like a guild comprised entirely of stealth classes, either druids or rogues. They redeemed some potions that enhanced stealth and many Swift Scrolls, moving like the wind.

They roamed the battlefield, launching attacks on unsuspecting guilds, never lingering in battle. After a round of attacks, regardless of the outcome, they would immediately retreat.

This guild’s points soared, placing them among the best. They were too cunning, never giving others the chance to engage, which caused many guilds great frustration, yet they were unable to do anything to this band of rogues.

Then there was a Paladin Legion, made up entirely of Paladins.

Paladins naturally covered offensive, healing, and tanking roles, and with several professional variations in their ranks, they were extremely formidable, a moving fortress that no guild could advantage of.

The countless invincible Holy Shields, Holy Healing Spells, Hands of Protection, and the various auras of Aura Knights were a headache to many.

And there were the older men and women of the neutral alignment. That’s right, those who opted for the neutral faction were either underage kids or middle-aged and elderly folk.

They relied more on tactics to gain points, for instance, using terrain or certain military formations.

Despite their age, these neutral-aligned guilds shone the brightest in the chaos of battle, igniting the passion of many middle-aged and elderly players who, though interested in the game, had not joined the Ancients due to their age. Many made up their minds to enter the Ancient Realm.

Of course, the most domineering and aggressive were the guilds composed of alien players. They had no particular methods or strategies aside from using their sheer strength to overpower others.

Unless it was a super-scale large war, the disparity in power was quite evident.

The alien players were generally on a rampage, leaving many dissatisfied with the alien guild. However, as they interacted and combated, the true gap in strength became clear.

The alien players were incredibly arrogant, each proclaiming their intention to wipe out all of Earth’s guilds.

And so, one day passed by, with Starfire still showing no activity. Yet, with the day’s events, more than one-third of the guilds had been eliminated.

Li Yao and his team spent the day analyzing the situation, and in the darkest hour, Eagle Eye spotted a legion quietly approaching Starfire…
