Chapter 1355 - Chapter 1355 Chapter 1355 Circuit Break
Chapter 1355: Chapter 1355: Circuit Break Chapter 1355: Chapter 1355: Circuit Break Demons brought out quite a few boxes, and with no equipment inside, players were disappointed until someone couldn’t help but cry out in astonishment.
“My God, that box actually contains Abyssal Demon Silver, I must be seeing things wrong, this stuff is priceless!”
“Who cares about Abyssal Demon Silver, have you seen the least conspicuous box there? It’s actually Dragon Demon Skin. If you make equipment out of it, it would be Dragon Skin Leather Armor, just think about it.”
The players were immediately thrilled. As everyone knows, with the Abyss closed, though it made the Prime Material Plane a lot safer, it also cut off the connection between the Abyss and the Prime Material Plane, nearly halting the flow of Abyssal materials.
Because of the shortage of materials, numerous technologies, Arrays, alchemy, and Spells had to undergo transformation. Of course, the things from the Prime Material Plane were equally rare to the creatures of the Abyss, especially the intelligent races’ manufactured goods, which could fetch a fortune in the Abyss. A bottle of ordinary Prime Material Plane Apple Wine would cost just one copper coin, but in the Abyss, it could sell for a hundred times its price. The better the item, the higher the price.
Just like how players and adventurers reacted upon seeing items from the Abyss.
Knight Fruit’s calm gaze flashed with excitement, “They can actually bring things over, do they have a small passage now?”
You see, without the appropriate portal, transporting raw Abyssal materials cannot be done by pack mules; they must be transported through specialized portals.
“Does the wife need these materials?” asked Angel.
Knight Fruit nodded, “You should know about my elite profession. Many skills cannot be learned, not for lack of knowledge, but because of the absence of resources. The Sacred Teaching army used to specifically deal with hellish and Abyssal creatures, and many ancient skills require sacrifices made with materials from the Abyss and Hell. But with the Abyss closed, many secret techniques have become history.”
Fireworks agreed, “My tutor always mentioned that many powerful ancient secret techniques have disappeared, and always instructed me to keep an eye out for Abyssal materials that can unlock secret techniques. If we can get the appropriate materials, we’d be much stronger than we are now.”
Tianzhen also mentioned that her tutor had reminded her, “Big brother, why don’t we side with the Lion Scorpion Goddess.”
Li Yao shook his head slightly, “The cunning of the Lion Scorpion Goddess is not weaker than that of Ros, if you’re thinking of taking advantage, forget it. Look around, everyone’s eyes are red, we might have to brawl with the monsters soon.”
“Right, now keeping big brother safe is the most important thing,” Tianzhen realized.
“That’s not what I mean. I have other channels for Abyssal materials. If you trust me, just wait for a while, and it’ll be fine once the main storyline quest is over,” Li Yao explained.
Everyone brightened, without any doubt in Li Yao’s words. Li Yao knew that after reaching level sixty, which would be the cap, this status would last for quite a while.
Then after that, killing monsters would yield an experience with a new calculation mechanism, enabling attainment of the Peak level. Unlike the current leveling system, Peak level upgrades would no longer enhance attributes across the board.
Before reaching the level cap, every upgrade would slightly increase all attributes. But after reaching the cap, every Peak level upgrade would grant one attribute point and one skill point for every ten levels.
In reality, if one were to distribute attributes evenly, reaching the Peak level was basically the equivalent of one level up for every ten Peak levels. Of course, this was the players’ conversion, but it wasn’t that simple.
After reaching the level cap, there would also be changes in equipment, but let’s not get into that now.
“Let’s move to another location.”
Li Yao didn’t want to attract attention, so like many adventurers, they did not summon any signature items and were wrapped in foggy cloaks.
The players and adventurers were originally one faction, all here to conquer the temple, but now that the temple side had produced Abyssal items, too many were drawn to it.
Especially the top players, who also learned from their tutors about the importance of Abyssal materials.
So many had already started to flock to the other side, but equally many still hoped to slay the gods and grab the chance. They believed that as long as they could destroy the temple, those materials would naturally be theirs, so they did not switch sides.
In just a brief moment, the once-united group split into two factions, and this time the brief faction division wasn’t by race, but by interest.
“Fuck, the deep portal has disappeared, it’s been sealed.”
Some players didn’t want to fight with other players, so they tried to leave temporarily, hoping to come back after both sides suffered losses to take advantage. However, they discovered that the portals had already been sealed by the intertwining shadows of spiders and scorpions, without giving the players a chance to act–escape was now impossible.
The High Priestess of the Dark Elves let out a seductive laugh, “Thinking it’s so easy to enter and then leave to reap the benefits later, how naive. If all of you have come here, then you must keep fighting. If you want to remain uninvolved, you can only lay down.”
“At the top of the temple, the Priest spoke up, “Either fight with us to the end and triumph, or turn to ashes under the might of our army. Choose wisely. In this place, only one side will survive.”
The players’ faces changed wildly as they quickly split into two camps.
In terms of overall strength, the two sides were not much different since a massive shadow of a spider loomed over the area, neutralizing the curses from the temple statues.
“By my lord’s will, the Purgatory Battlefield is now opened. The victorious side will gain control of this place, while the other will be forbidden from re-attempting conquest for the next ten years,” the Dark Elf High Priestess declared solemnly.
The High Priestess of the Lion Scorpion nodded, “Very good.”
“All listen to my command, come forth and receive your orders. Completing the associated tasks will grant you additional merits,” the Divine Guard beside the High Priestess loudly announced.
The leaders of each group crowded around, searching for suitable tasks.
Mu Zi watched the dividing crowd and said, “Something’s not right, those who received orders have all gotten a mark. If we don’t join either side, we might become enemies of both.”
Li Yao frowned, “These two are really cunning, looking out for oneself isn’t an option.”
“So which side do you think we should take?” asked the seductress.
Li Yao replied, “There’s no choice. If I join the Scorpion Lion Camp now, I reckon I’d become a target for a task where who knows how many people would be gunning to hunt me down. We can only temporarily align with the Spider Queen’s side for now.”
Li Yao stepped forward and saw a virtual deep map, resembling a war sand table with small flags at various positions, each flag representing a different task.
Li Yao glanced around and randomly selected one, a red flag fell into his hand.
“Order number sixty-five, assault on the Red Crystal Ant nest, killing a leader level nets 3 merits, killing the queen earns 100 merits, and exterminating the nest brings 500 merits.”
Li Yao looked at the most affordable Dark Golden equipment price tag–5,600 merits–and his mouth twitched…
