Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva -
Chapter 963 - 88: The Adventure Squad Just Out of Novice Village
"So this is the outfit for after the class change? Feels pretty nice." Blanchi stretched out her hands, spun in place, and admired the green-and-white robe on her body.
Its overall design was primarily white, decorated with two light green floral patterns on the front, and additionally equipped with a wooden-colored long staff in her hands.
"Healer is a junior profession. Based on its description, it means there will be advanced classes later." Ores glanced at the information panel.
On the other side, Shui Yanqing was dressed in a neatly fitted swordsman outfit. Her clothing had a white base with red trim, paired with an iron-colored longsword in hand.
"This outfit..." Several Songstresses present expressed curiosity about the material of their clothes.
"It seems the belt is woven and shaped according to the wearer's figure using Magic Power. It's pretty snug. However, when the belt no longer provides Magic Power, it will gradually dissipate. It's somewhat similar to Magic Attire—but hey, this is a game, so don't expect it to match the strength of actual Magic Attire."
After analyzing the outfits of the two post-class-change characters, the group began to inquire about their newly acquired skills.
"I got two moves: 'Sword Stab' and 'Slash'." Shui Yanqing swung her sword in her hand, almost resembling a dance.
"Mine are limited to 'Heal', and that's it." Blanchi hugged her staff and knelt on the grass, looking a bit deflated.
"Well, it's an entry-level profession, after all." The others laughed and consoled her, and the group of six continued their journey.
"Next, as the village chief mentioned, the road to the town is occupied by a pack of wild wolves. If we want to pass through, we must be cautious of their attacks."
"Fighting wild wolves? That shouldn't be a problem." The group then set off.
Walking along the countryside path, the Songstresses chatted with one another.
"Even though it's a simulated environment, it's really well done. The scenes don't feel overly contrived." Audrey commented.
"The area is vast! Such a large amusement park with so many levels… but if you think about it, the number of players can't be too high. I wonder how they manage to recoup costs." Shui Yanqing pondered.
"Wasn't it you who introduced this place to us? I thought Yanqing would be more familiar with it." Blanchi was surprised.
"I've known about this place for a while—from seeing an ad by chance. After looking into it, I really liked the concept and wanted to try it out." Shui Yanqing walked at the front, using her sword to clear away weeds along the roadside, getting familiar with the skill.
"It's likely some experimental project." Ores shared her understanding of the setup.
"Certain large corporations launch projects of this nature to test and validate certain ideas. They don't necessarily expect them to be highly profitable."
"In the Central Star Domain, things like this aren't uncommon."
Chatting as they passed a few hundred meters of countryside path, the group entered a sparsely lit forest where the air grew noticeably cooler.
"They're coming." Audrey warned.
"What's coming?" Blanchi, taken aback by the sudden remark, asked in confusion.
"Look." Tilan pointed to the rustling grass deep in the forest. Soon, ten or so running gray wolves emerged.
"Grrr..." The low growls and howls of the wolves encircled the six adventurers.
Their fur was mixed—white, gray, black, and brown—blending together to form a grayish-black gradient. Each wolf stooped forward, baring its teeth, with a menacing glint in their eyes.
"Battle time!" The words appeared in front of everyone's eyes.
"I tested it—if you act with speed or strength beyond that of an ordinary person, it's considered 'pushing to the limits,' which continually deducts health." Prin looked at the red indicator on her belt.
"It's essentially a restriction on players using abilities outside of the game."
"Haha, well, this is a game. If everyone used their supernatural abilities from outside the game, it'd lose its purpose."
"Let me heal you." Blanchi waved her staff, releasing a faint green light, which caused Prin's health bar on the belt to gradually turn green.
"For now, we'll go with a four-to-one strategy—four of us will surround Blanchi for defense against wolf attacks, while Shui Yanqing roams and strikes." The group quickly settled on a strategy.
Clutching pitchforks and hoes, Audrey and Tilan stood side by side, saying, "It suddenly feels tense and lively."
"Hmph." Prin firmly gripped her pitchfork horizontally, blocking the pouncing wild wolf. Its teeth sank tightly into the pitchfork handle, issuing growls.
On Tilan's other side, Ores was about to speak but got interrupted by an ambushing wild wolf.
"It bit my leg! Argh!" Ores shouted in panic as a wolf clamped onto her leg tightly.
Hearing her cry for help, Tilan deflected the dog-like wild beast in front of her with her pitchfork, then swung it like a spear to stab the wolf attacking Ores from the side. Injured, the wolf finally let go and tried to counter Tilan. However, she skillfully evaded and drove it toward Shui Yanqing.
"Sword Stab"
A faint golden light flashed, leaving a deep gash on the wolf that, moments later, burst into fragments before dissipating into particles.
While the four defended Blanchi's position, she held fast and patched holes in their defense with healing, allowing Shui Yanqing to systematically eliminate the wolves. After several minutes, the battle concluded.
"Whew, I feel like I just sprinted a few hundred meters." The group leaned against a tree to rest.
"Even though it's just a game, it's still thrilling, especially without using supernatural abilities—it really felt intense."
"When the wolf was biting my leg, I nearly resorted to using my abilities to fight back." Ores rubbed her leg in relief, now bearing a row of visible white tooth marks.
"It's not fatal, but it's definitely a real attack," Tilan said, helping her massage the area.
