Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva -
Chapter 962 - 87 'The Legendary Adventures of the Songstress'_3
"So basically, a group of wild boars recently ruined the crops in the fields. The villagers can't handle them, so they've hired passing adventurers to take care of it."
"As long as we deal with the wild boars, we can get a reward of 50 gold coins and two junior profession specialization cards," a few girls read aloud from the written text.
"Sounds simple enough."
"But what I'm wondering is, if this amusement park is meant for the public, what about ordinary people or low-sequence Transcendents? How are they supposed to play? Surely they can't expect everyone to actually fight."
"Let's just go check it out. There'll definitely be prompts when we get there," Audrey recalled her older brother Feng Jianxue's various antics in games.
The six of them asked the villagers for directions and arrived at the forest where the wild boars were hiding. They hadn't walked far inside before encountering them.
There were seventeen wild boars in total—seven large ones and ten small ones. The big ones were about 300 to 400 pounds, nothing too shocking.
'Battle time!'
A golden line of text suddenly floated in front of the six girls. Then their belts began glowing, and they each found themselves holding weapons like pitchforks, hoes, and sticks. These were magical tools projected by their bracers, not very sturdy, but each imbued with special branding patterns meant to interact with the environment here.
"Strike your opponent with your weapon to deal damage, but being hit will also deduct health."
"How refreshingly plain and unoriginal," Ores quipped, mocking the setting for being too basic.
"Ores, you're holding a stick, right?"
"At least it looks better than a hoe or a pitchfork," she muttered, inspecting her weapon. Before they could chat further, several wild boars in the forest charged at them.
"Wow, they're fast~" Blanchi barely dodged and ended up stumbling to the ground, sitting awkwardly.
"But also pretty easy," Prin spun her pitchfork in her hands as if wielding a spear, directly bracing it against the nearest boar and thrusting with force.
Bang—
A crisp sound echoed as the wild boar shattered into shimmering star-like fragments that fell to the ground, dissolving into smoke shortly after.
"Level up!"
Prin: Lv.0 → Lv.1, Profession: Ordinary Person, Skills: None.
Seeing Prin handle one, the others quickly sprang into action. Though they were all Songstresses, they had undergone a fair amount of combat training, making these animals easy to handle.
It wasn't long before all the wild boars were defeated. The group effortlessly leveled up to either Lv.1 or Lv.2.
Soon, task rewards descended from the sky. In a shower of golden light, a pouch of gold coins and two cards dropped to the ground.
"By the way, how do we use these cards?"
"Of course, you slot them into your belt. See, there's a port here," one of them pointed out.
"How do we divide them up? We only have two cards."
"We can't just roll dice or play rock-paper-scissors; we're all Songstresses. That'd get exhausting."
"Tilan, prepare crystal dice. Shui Yanqing, use water to spin them. Ores will freeze them with ice, and lastly, Blanchi will pick the dice blindly to distribute them."
So, the six girls gathered on the grassy field, watching the six crystal dice tumble around in a water basin as if taking a bath. Eventually, Ores froze them in a flash of frost.
The frozen dice were retrieved, their numbers too obscured to see clearly at first, and then handed to Blanchi for distribution.
"Tilan - 4, Shui Yanqing - 5, Ores - 1, Audrey - 3, Prin - 2, Blanchi - 6."
"Looks like the cards go to Yanqing and Blanchi. Now we just have to see what professions they'll choose."
"First, we need one who can fight, and another who can heal," someone suggested.
"Then it's got to be 'Swordsman' and 'Healer.' Yanqing's personality seems perfect for a Healer, right?"
"Well, they talked it over and decided to swap profession cards."
[Thus, the two cards were given to Shui Yanqing and Blanchi. They became a 'Swordsman' and a 'Healer,' respectively, vowing to banish evil and become the saviors of the world.]
"Audrey, why are you suddenly talking like a Troubadour? I've never seen this side of you before."
"I'm just in the mood, you know? Besides, don't you think this is ridiculously fun? It feels like the start of some kind of legendary story."
"What should we call it?"
"Let's go with 'The Legendary Grand Adventure of Six Songstresses,' how about that?"
