Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva -
Chapter 945 - 81: The Changing Candlelight_2
"No, reporting this would be tedious. The Court of Judgment will definitely send someone to inquire about the source of this information, then carry out so-called investigations and processes. Who knows when the results will come? Not to mention, I wouldn't be able to interfere freely. It would just become boring." Ailu Kelu was the first to object.
"Since their methods are so formidable, they must know I'm searching for them."
"They're afraid of being exposed, terrified of me. They wouldn't dare face me directly, and I also hope to learn more fascinating secrets and things through them."
"What do you mean?" The fox-eared male cautiously inquired.
"I want to join the 'Council of Seven Sages' and make them serve me." Ailu Kelu tapped her fingers on the armrest, her eyes glimmering with an unusual light.
"This..." For a moment, he couldn't wrap his head around Ailu Kelu's train of thought.
"But if you, as a Songstress, deeply involve yourself with such an organization, exposure would severely damage your reputation, and then..."
"And then what?" Ailu Kelu turned her head, lightly pressing her finger against her chin.
"Do you think I'm an ordinary person, shackled by rumors?"
"Who dares to expose? Who has the evidence? And besides, who would believe it?"
"My existence represents the interests of numerous Beastmen within the Federation. If those parliamentarians don't want to incite internal unrest, they should keep my secrets. Even if the Court of Judgment finds out, they have no authority to handle this matter, because I possess the immunity granted to Songstresses. Unless they first revoke my Songstress identity, but such a thing isn't simple at all."
"Since I have nothing to fear, why not delve deeper? Not only can I obtain information that ordinary people cannot access and gain the upper hand in intelligence, but I can also use this intelligence to benefit Beastmen-related interest groups. You know, as one of the cornerstone enterprises supporting the Beastmen, the 'Myriad Beasts Union' has been struggling for years."
"That's indeed true." After hearing this, the fox-eared male finally came to realize.
"But since they're hiding behind the scenes, finding them won't be easy. Also, how can we be sure they're not just deceiving us?"
"Take it slow. Since we stand in an invincible position, we can try all kinds of methods." Ailu Kelu appeared to be in a good mood.
"Additionally, do not inform Hexia about this matter for now. Also, keep it a secret from Alanna as well." She instructed afterward.
"That's not much of an issue. Miss Hexia is currently at school undergoing special training, and as for Alanna, her side is almost entirely under our control and is quite weak." The fox-eared male affirmed that these concerns were negligible.
"Since you have this idea, Lord Ailu Kelu, I'll head to the Northern Star Domain to contact a few top-tier experts in the hacking field and assist you in tracing the 'Council of Seven Sages'."
"Rest assured, these technical elites are undoubtedly from our various Beastman tribes. Moreover, we have their real-life identities well in hand, so there's no need to worry about dissent or leaks."
"You're quite clever, much better than those big oafs." Ailu Kelu praised casually.
"Of course, I'm not just someone who flatters others," he quipped, knowing that he didn't always come across as exceptionally capable.
"Heh, see that you do your best. Stick with me, Ailu Kelu, and you're bound to become a prominent figure in the future." The cat-eared Songstress looked pleased.
Afterward, she dismissed the people around her, sending them off to busy themselves. She lay on the sofa and rolled about, releasing the anticipation and excitement in her heart. For someone who loved mischief and novelty, nothing delighted her more.
"I really ought to thank Tilan. Tch, those few are still too naïve and innocent. Exposing them to such profound matters is bad for the kids. Let us seniors handle the dirty work instead. Meow meow~"
...
The Golden Flame Flower Academy, viewing hall.
After finishing a day of studies, Tilan and several other Songstresses emerged from their Immersion Cabins, still slightly dazed. After all, they'd just come out of historical scenes from several hundred years ago.
Though Songstresses wield immense influence and power, their fates vary. Many have failed to meet peaceful ends due to various reasons, leaving behind a record of sorrowful tales.
Sitting on a nearby chair to let her mental state slowly recover, Tilan closed her eyes to rest. She felt a cool sensation on the back of her hand, then opened her eyes to find Shui Yanqing seated beside her, touching her lightly.
She shared a decent relationship with Shui Yanqing, though because Ores was often by her side, Shui Yanqing rarely approached intimately. However, Ores was already dozing off beside her, unlikely to wake suddenly.
"Are you free tonight? How about joining me for dinner?" The familiar voice echoed in Tilan's mind—Shui Yanqing's clear and gentle tone.
"I'm free. I'll drop Ores off first, then come over."
Since Shui Yanqing's invitation clearly implied she preferred not to have Ores join, knowing their relationship wasn't quite there yet, Tilan didn't insist on forcing reconciliation.
After school, Ores woke up sluggishly, and afterward, Tilan and a few Songstresses bid each other goodbye before parting ways. By the time Tilan reconvened with Shui Yanqing, it was already 7 PM.
The distant sunset painted the sky in dark red hues. It was late March, and the days had grown noticeably longer.
Sitting in an outdoor restaurant located outside the school, overlooking the gently stirring sea of flowers and grassy fields below, there was a distinct sense of ease and relaxation.
This fourth-floor terrace restaurant operated on a member-only basis, meaning few patrons, offering a tranquil and comfortable environment perfect for chatting and idling.
"Tilan, you're here."
Shui Yanqing had already arrived, dressed in a white knit top paired with a pale blue long skirt, exuding an air of approachable domesticity.
