Chapter 928 - 76: The Songstress Idrylia's Teaching
Golden Flame Flower Academy
The towering aerial structure, adorned with the golden rose of the legendary Songstress, slowly rotated in the sky. Its intricate golden threads wound delicately, shimmering with radiant brilliance, refracting into dazzling halos when sunlight touched its surface.
A sleek, deep-blue shuttlecraft entered the atmosphere from Star Harbor beyond the planet, slicing through the air with a long streak of crimson before descending slowly to land on the academy's tarmac.
As the hatch opened, attendants dressed in deep blue adorned with golden threads stepped out in an orderly procession. They then stood on either side, laying out a blue velvet carpet on the ground, clearing the surroundings and securing the area. Under the welcoming eyes of teachers and high-ranking staff from the academy, a stunningly elegant woman gracefully emerged.
Her golden hair was woven into layered circular buns at the back, with a few strands cascading gently to frame her face, highlighting the Blue Peacock gemstone earrings on her ear lobes. The deep blue gown she wore stood out vividly in the surroundings, exuding an air of elegance and purity, like ink smoke drifting over water.
"Welcome, Lady Idrylia."
The teachers and high-ranking staff present bowed, paying their respects to the renowned Songstress.
"There's no need for such formalities," she said with a slight nod, her words measured and serene.
She then strode toward the group, and the academy staff followed her lead.
Half an hour later, inside the reception hall of the central tower of the Golden Flame Flower Academy.
The vast hall had only three attendees at the moment: Lady Idrylia dressed in her deep-blue gown, a vice principal, and a master-level mentor of the academy.
"What brings you here this time, Lady Idrylia?" the elder vice principal cautiously inquired.
"I realize my visit was abrupt; it's understandable if it caught you unprepared." She sipped her tea slowly before speaking.
As a Songstress of great seniority and an Elf blessed with longevity, she out-aged the two in the room by far, overpowering them with her experience and status, which naturally made them feel the weight of her presence.
"You must know that I am no longer young."
"Why humble yourself so, Lady? As an Elf, you remain as radiant as ever."
"Enough of these empty compliments. It has been over a decade since we last met, and you've surely grown more slippery. I recall you being much more impulsive in your youth," Idrylia remarked, shaking her head slightly.
"Indeed, I was too rash back then—ahahaha," the vice principal admitted, stroking his beard with a self-deprecating smile.
"This time, my purpose is to observe the young ladies. They've been at the academy for half a year now, yes? This batch of four Songstresses is far livelier compared to our time." Idrylia reminisced about the past.
"The youngsters are all doing well. Blanchi, though a bit green, has only recently started exploring the Songstress arts. The other three each possess distinct focuses and qualities."
"Yes, I've heard bits and pieces about them. Ores, in particular, grew up under my watch," Idrylia noted.
"However, university is no longer childhood—it's not a time for indulgence. Soon, they will confront what it truly means to be Songstresses, take charge of their teams, and gradually influence those who will follow and support them."
"The impact of Songstresses on people is profound. If any of them falters, it will not only harm an individual but can affect tens of billions, even hundreds of billions of residents. I'm not exaggerating—Songstresses truly hold such a destructive capacity."
"You're absolutely right, Lady Idrylia. Our academy has always strived to cultivate the Songstresses' mentalities and values by guiding them step by step—from understanding ordinary people to interacting with society's middle layers, ultimately ascending to see the world from an upper-tier perspective." The vice principal explained earnestly.
"Yes, I underwent similar experiences back in my time. I've always supported the academy's educational philosophy." Idrylia responded succinctly.
"Given the numerous Songstresses in this batch—and the next one, which combined totals nearly six—I heard that some older and more experienced Songstresses couldn't spare the time to mentor them. Thus, I came to offer guidance in their place."
"You're solving a great dilemma for the academy; we and the faculty are incredibly grateful," the vice principal quickly expressed his gratitude.
"Originally, Evelyn was designated as their guide, but due to issues in her homeland, she had to leave abruptly not long ago," the vice principal said, his tone tinged with regret.
If one were to rank the existing Songstresses, Evelyn might not have the biggest name or widespread influence, but her talent and skill undeniably placed her at the zenith. Unfortunately, her personality remained her greatest hindrance.
"Evelyn… sigh..."
Of course, Idrylia knew of her junior's capabilities. After their own generation of Songstresses gradually stepped back, Evelyn had been considered the Federation's greatest hope of achieving the Sunshine-level Songstress rank. However, she had failed to surpass that critical threshold and eventually adopted a semi-retired lifestyle.
"Let's end here for today. Tomorrow or the day after, find some time to schedule a formal meeting for me with them."
"As you wish, Lady Idrylia." The two affirmed without issue, and the trio dispersed shortly after.
...
The next day, Tilan followed her daily routine, heading to work at a pet clinic, where she helped customers by answering their questions and analyzing their animal companions.
In the afternoon, she met up with Alanna and spent the rest of the day together. There were no notable events today; they mainly deliberated on future plans and organized a list of personnel they could still rally.
Returning to her mansion at the academy later that evening, Audrey came by to visit not long after.
