Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva
Chapter 898 - 65: The Outstanding Graduates of Fengyuan Academy

"I am Wode Kasso!"

In the arena, a muscle-bound man wearing minimal clothing made his entrance. His bulging muscles created an exaggerated visual impact, glistening as though coated in oil, reflecting the lights in the night.

Trailing behind him was his Hellhound, whose appearance mirrored his own. Its sleek, black fur gleamed under the lights, and its robust muscles swayed like a moving mountain as it walked. The drooping flesh around its jaw couldn't hide the exposed teeth, giving off a sense of ferocity.

Though not particularly likable, it had to be admitted that this Hellhound was better trained compared to the previous opponents. Tilan glanced at it and quickly analyzed.

Species: Subspecies of Pitbull

Status: Healthy (No abnormalities)

Rank: Blood Pupil Sequence 5 · Hellfire Hellhound (Evaluation: Excellence Condensation Bead Rank)

Talent:

[Mad Blood] (Excellent): Once it enters combat, its bloodline's feral instincts are ignited, turning it frenzied. Strength sees a significant short-term boost, and it becomes impervious to pain.

Ability:

[High-Temperature Hot Body] (Superior): Its body temperature remains perpetually elevated, and this increases along with its Sequence Level. It has exceptional resistance to heat.

[Fire Smoke Poison] (Rare): It can release a toxic breath mixed with dense smoke and high-temperature venom. The corrosive fumes are detrimental to most creatures' eyes and severely damage respiratory systems, causing burns, swelling, and suffocation.

Skill: Specific details unknown.

The talent Mad Blood is a double-edged sword. Facing an opponent with Mad Blood is concerning as such foes fight relentlessly and with intense ferocity. Even in cases where one has the upper hand, victory tends to be pyrrhic.

However, if this talent is on your side, eight out of ten battles end in chaos. Its frenzied state disregards commands, resulting in unpredictable and often severe consequences—making it unpopular with many.

To be frank, facing this kind of opponent is beyond what the Grey Crow perched on Tilan's shoulder could handle. It was merely a temporary companion—a stray rescued from a pet hospital.

"Can I swap pets?" Tilan stroked the Grey Crow on her shoulder, asking the host.

"Oh, scared already, little girl?" Wode Kasso sneered upon hearing this and then turned to the audience, shouting loudly.

"Did you hear that? She's afraid—afraid of me, Wode Kasso, and my loyal and powerful companion, Big Volcano!" So this dog was named 'Big Volcano.'

"Keep fighting, no swaps allowed!" Someone jeered from the crowd.

"What swapping? Didn't you enjoy winning earlier? Why suddenly chicken out now?" This came from a previous opponent whom Tilan had defeated.

"Little girl's got no guts—hahaha!" Vulgar jeers rose from the crowd.

"Fine, I won't swap then." Seeing the situation, Tilan could only agree to the match.

Given that swapping wasn't an option, she had no choice but to employ her hidden techniques. Hopefully, her abilities hadn't become rusty since graduating from Yuanting a year ago.

"Fight! Fight! Fight!" As Tilan agreed, the crowd began to chant fervently, with people even stomping to the rhythm.

"Fight! Fight! Fight!"

As chants grew louder in the central section, more people joined in, eventually sweeping through the entire arena. Tonight's match had reached its peak fervor.

"Fight! Fight! Fight!"

"You got this!" This voice belonged to Suoga, shouting amidst the crowd. Had it not been for Tilan's keen sense of hearing, the encouragement would've been drowned by the sea of voices.

"Now, contestants, please take your positions." Following the host's guidance, the two competitors moved to opposite sides of the battlefield.

Tilan stroked the Grey Crow on her shoulder, and faint blue light specks adhered to the bird's body. She then whispered something beside it.

Among birds, crows are considered the most intelligent species—in extraordinary animals, this holds true as well. Those among the Transcendent crows can often understand human speech, and specially trained ones can even comprehend human writing.

"Now, the match begins!" The host, gripping the microphone, announced the start of tonight's finals.

"Go get her—tear her apart!" Wode Kasso immediately swung his arm forward, pointing toward the girl across the arena.

"Grr—woof!" The pitch-black Hellhound growled, baring its teeth as it galloped into the fray.

"You go too, but be careful." Tilan released the Grey Crow from her arm, letting it take flight. It spiraled upward sharply, vanishing into the night.

However, the Hellhound didn't concern itself with the disappearing Grey Crow; it kept charging toward the girl, its blood-red eyes locked on her.

Whether it misinterpreted the situation or was deliberately baited by the opposing side remained unclear. But fleeing now would be akin to surrender—and Tilan naturally wasn't going to run. She clasped her hands together, her fingers intertwining expertly like weaving strings. Complex blue patterns emerged in the air, forming a barrier resembling interwoven meshes, blocking the Hellfire Hellhound.

"Wind Kite Secret Art: Demon Wind Cloak"

Behind Tilan, an image of a bird spreading its wings took shape. Within the illustration, glowing dots appeared, resembling constellations interconnected. The points shone brightly.

Above, the Grey Crow dived swiftly, its body likewise illuminated with blue light specks. These specks adhered to its feathers, transforming its two wings into luminous, bright blue appendages.

"Ha, it came down after all. Big Volcano, finish off that stupid bird with your breath!" From behind, Wode Kasso watched his scheme unfold, grinning smugly.

The Hellhound in the arena was already accustomed to such commands. It raised its head decisively, prowled across the battlefield, and then unleashed thick, choking smoke and fiery sparks.

The suffocating smoke and dark flames engulfed the diving Grey Crow, but before Wode Kasso could celebrate, the bird emerged from the haze, its wings still aglow, albeit with diminished brightness.
