MATED TO THE SECRET ALPHA -
Chapter 151: Trouble
Chapter 151: Trouble
She stood before him. But instead of answering, she yanked his collar down and Ryder instinctively leaned forward, going for her lips, but suddenly, her face veered from his line of sight, towards his neck and then... pain.
Reana sank her teeth into his neck!
Gasp!
The sound escaped Ophilia’s lips before she could stop herself, her eyes wide with horror, forgetting to breathe, forgetting to react as she stared at them.
Ryder’s lips broke into the sweetest smile he could ever produce. His arms wrapped around her waist, holding her close. The pain was nothing to Ryder, it couldn’t even draw a grimace from him. Instead, he felt tickled. And he chuckled.
Ryder pulled away, the anger in her eyes hadn’t dissipated even a little, but Ryder could see the possessiveness and passion behind her gaze. He knew that omega had pushed her buttons, and Reana was marking her territory.
The omega didn’t seem so repulsive now. Ryder shifted her gaze, meeting her eyes, his smile still plastered on his face.
For a moment, they just stared at each other, Ophilia’s face pale, and Ryder’s eyes sparkling with amusement. Thanks to her, his Luna has marked him, even though the marking has no spiritual significance - it would be erased once it healed. Unlike the man marking the woman.
"You’re still staring at her? Do you like her?" Reana snapped, her voice low and menacing.
Ryder’s gaze returned to Reana, his smile doting and endearing. He lifted his hand and gently began to stroke her hair, his voice soothing. "I dare not, My Luna." He chuckled when she glared at him.
He leaned down, forehead resting on her, hot breath fanning each other’s faces, then he said, "Besides, I’m all yours. No woman under the sun and above the sky is worthy of taking your place."
Reana’s glare softened slightly, and her arms wrapped around his waist. "Don’t ever give me reasons to doubt that statement." She whispered back.
He beamed, "I dare not."
"Yet, you dared to stay in a space with her, with her pheromones wrapped around you..." her lips hovered over his. "Did you enjoy it?" Just before he could speak, her teeth sank into his lower lip, careful enough to not bite it off, but hard enough to draw blood.
"I didn’t notice," he smiled as the wound instantly healed, but the one on his neck was still there, except that the blood had stopped flowing.
She rolled her eyes. "The scent was everywhere. It drew me here from the outside."
She lied. After speaking to Mirian, she felt suffocated and thought she needed fresh air, so she took a walk, only for her legs to bring her all the way to the servant quarters.
She saw Ophilia and Ryder standing face to face, talking, then Ryder turned, heading to the kitchen while Ophilia followed shortly after.
They did nothing wrong, but Reana didn’t quite like that. Maybe because Ophilia was prettier and younger than she was. Curious, she followed them, only to draw close to the kitchen and perceived a thick scent of pheromones in the air.
Her heart trembled, thinking that Ryder was doing sinful things. It was common for omegas to get banged by anyone, and Ryder banging her wouldn’t be perceived as something bad.
But Reana could never and would never share her man with any one, no matter who they were.
Lucky for him, when she entered, he was busy minding his business.
"Hehe," he chuckled, his voice dripping with subtle sarcasm. "My Luna must have evolved overnight. Your heightened senses are greater than mine."
"You..." Before she could protest, he sealed her lips.
She moaned and pressed her body against his, her arms pulling him close.
Ophilia, still standing frozen in place, felt a wave of anguish, heartbreak, and jealousy all slamming into her. Her fist clenched and unclenched.
That should be her. She thought. An omega for an omega. That was the unspoken rule! Why did the Luna break it? She could choose any man she wanted from the high-ranking, untouchable men. Why must it be Ryder? Why must it be the man she’d loved for three years?
Her own mate rejected her because she was an omega. And now, now... Tears welled up in her eyes as she watched the two sprinkle her with heartbreak over and over again.
And then, she bolted. Weeping.
Reana sighed, pulling away from Ryder’s lips as she glanced back at Ophilia’s retreating figure. But Ryder’s lips on her neck were unrelently demanding her attention.
She chuckled, feeling a ticklish sensation from his beard. she turned back to him, her eyes. "That’s enough, stop being so naughty," she pushed against his chest.
"No," he whispered and buried his face in her neck.
Reana’s soft giggles carried across the kitchen as Ryder’s lips danced across her skin, sending shivers down her spine.
...
Meanwhile, at the other side of the pack, a brutal fight between two wolves – a huge midnight black wolf and a giant grey wolf broke out, their snarls and growls echoing through the woods.
The two wolves clashed, their teeth snapping wildly as they battled for dominance. The grey wolf, its fur matted with blood, twisted, and dirty, lunged forward with a powerful bite, but the midnight wolf dodged and countered with a swipe of its paw, sending the grey wolf staggering back.
The fight was intense, with both wolves giving it their all, their breathing heavy and labored.
A small grey wolf sprinted over, standing a short distance from the battlefield. Its eyes gleamed with fear and panic.
"Awool!!" It howled so loudly that its cry echoed through the woods, yet, it wasn’t enough to tear the wolves apart.
It watched as the two wolves collided midair in a blur of teeth and claws, their bodies crashing into each other with a loud thud. The air was filled with the sound of snarling, growling, and snapping jaws, and the smaller wolf’s tiny body trembled with each impact, as if it felt the blows itself.
The small wolf tensed, its muscled rigid as a daring thought flashed in its mind. This could mean its death, but after a moment of hesitation, it dashed for the two wolves. A few paces away from them, it leaped into the air with a loud howl.
Sensing danger, the angry grey wolf swiped its paw without a second thought, his sharp nails tearing through the small wolf’s fur, causing it to yelp in pain.
The midnight black wolf’s eyes widened in horror as it realized what had happened, and it lunged forward, intercepting the grey wolf with a fierce growl.
The smaller wolf stumbled back, its paws scrambling for traction as it collapsed to the ground, its tiny body trembling with shock and pain.
The midnight black wolf stood over it, its hackles raised, protecting the small wolf from further harm as it snarled at the grey wolf, daring it to make another move. The grey wolf, sensing something was wrong, stood back, watching the two wolves before it.
Suddenly, the small grey wolf transformed and its eyes widened, a low, raw growl vibrating in its chest as it took a frightened step back.
It had just hurt Mirian...!
