Chapter 109: Mirian In Trouble

Chapter 109: Mirian In Trouble

The sudden, searing pain caught him off guard, and he yelped in surprise, his grip on her arm faltering. The momentary lapse was all Mirian needed; she wrenched herself free from his grasp, her chest heaving with ragged breaths as she stumbled backward, eyes blazing with defiance.

Xavier’s eyes narrowed, his voice dripping with forced calmness as he stepped closer. "Mirian, don’t make me angrier than I already am. Come with me quietly. We need to... discuss some things." He extended a hand, beckoning her to hold his hand.

But Mirian took a step back, unwilling to follow him. She wasn’t stupid. He’d beat her up for ruining his plans, rape her again, threaten her with the lives of her family, and then give her another task.

"Mirian!" Xavier’s jaw clenched, his teeth gritting in rage as he lunged for her hand once more. "Don’t push me. Come with me, now."

Mirian shuffled back a few steps, her voice steady despite the fear coursing through her veins. "I’ll tell the Luna what you’re up to if you don’t let me go."

Xavier’s eyes flashed with murderous intent, his pupils constricting into slits. At that moment, Mirian knew she was staring into the face of pure evil.

Her instincts screamed at her to flee, and with that thought, she spun around, ready to make a desperate dash to safety, but how could she, a female omega outrun a furious male warrior, a Delta for that matter?

She barely took three steps before Xavier’s hand clamped around her neck from behind, his sharp claws sinking into her skin like knives. Warm liquid trickled down her neck as Mirian yelped in pain, her heart racing with terror.

Xavier spun her around, her feet stumbling to keep pace, and his hot breath washed over her ear, making her skin crawl."You shouldn’t have said that," he hissed, his voice venomous. "Now, you’re going to die."

His grip on her neck tightened, his razor-sharp nails digging deeper into her skin, threatening to sever her jugular. Mirian’s vision began to blur, her airway constricting under the pressure. She knew she had to think fast, or she’d be silenced forever.

’Please... don’t kill me, cousin,’ Mirian begged, her mind-link trembling with desperation, as Xavier’s grip made speaking impossible. ’Didn’t you say... you liked me better?’ She hoped to appeal to whatever twisted affection he claimed to have for her, praying it would stay his hand.

’I... I was your first, and you were mine,’ Mirian forced herself to admit, trying to swallow the revulsion that rose up in her throat. ’I... I love you too, Xavier,’ she lied, the words tasting bitter on her tongue. ’That’s why I couldn’t do that to the Luna. I didn’t want you to end up with another woman... besides me.’ She hoped the false confession would manipulate Xavier’s twisted emotions, buying her time to escape or find a way out of this nightmare.

For a fleeting moment, Mirian thought she saw a flicker of hesitation in Xavier’s eyes, a glimmer of uncertainty that gave her a spark of hope. But it was quickly extinguished, replaced by a cold, malicious gaze that made her blood run colder.

"You think I don’t sense your lies?" Xavier snarled, his voice low and menacing. "You’ve never liked me, Mirian. Yet you seduced me, manipulated me with your body and your charms. You made me love you, made me obsessed with you!" His eyes blazed with fury, his grip on her neck tightening as he spat out the words.

"I hate you, Mirian," Xavier’s voice seethed with venom, his words dripping with malice. "I despise you so much..."

It all started when they were younger. Mirian was around fifteen or sixteen. She was innocent, playful, and sweet. While he, on the other hand, had just turned eighteen, and was burdened by the troubles of being the perfect son of his family, who might become the Alpha.

He hated that life, and Mirian had helped him get away from the nightmares. He didn’t know when he developed strong feelings for her.

He loved Mirian, even rejecting his own mate, who was from his uncle’s pack, the West Wood Pack.

But when Mirian turned eighteen, she was mated to his own best friend. Xavier drank himself to stupor, until his friend came to tell him that he’d rejected Mirian as a result of her lowborn.

Excited, he went to her, finding Mirian in her lowest. They were both at their lowest, and she’d seduced him with her pheromones, but after they had sex, she told him she hated his guts.

She had almost ripped his heart out, and that had hurt Xavier so much that his love for her turned into hatred.

He bullied her, used her, threatened her family, and broke her, still, he wasn’t happy. He still wanted her...

"Let her go!" A deep, commanding voice boomed through the air. The sound of footsteps followed, heavy and deliberate, as Marcus’s tall, imposing figure strode into view. His eyes blazed with fury, fixed intently on Xavier, who sneered defiantly in response, whose grip on Mirian’s neck tightened.

"You want her too?" Xavier mocked, "Had she been warming your bed, was that why you defended her family?" His gaze hardened as he glared at Mirian with pain and anger, "Was he the reason you loathe me? How good can he be? He certainly cannot fuck you like I do!"

’Xavier, that’s not true!’ Mirian pleaded, her voice trembling with desperation. ’I don’t have anything to do with him, I swear. I don’t even know him!’ She winced in pain as Xavier’s grip tightened, his fingers pressing against her neck, threatening to crush her veins.

Mirian was mentally and physically exhausted. She didn’t want to die, but she could feel the grip of death.

"Xavier, while I’m still being sensible, let her go," Marcus repeated, his tone eerily calm, but his eyes blazed with raw evil that sent a chill down Xavier’s spine, causing Xavier’s hand to tremble.

As a result Xavier’s claws slipped, and Mirian’s eyes widened in horror as a searing pain shot through her neck. Blood burst forth, streaming down her chest like a dark, viscous river. She tried to speak, but choked out a clot of blood, her face contorting in agony.

Xavier’s pupils dilated as he realized the gravity of his mistake. "Mirian?" he whispered, his voice trembling with panic. His claws retracted, but before he could react further,

Marcus shot at him like a flash of lightning, stealing Mirian from his grasp with a swift move. "Mirian!" he exclaimed, cradling her limp form in his arms as he turned to face Xavier, his eyes blazing with a fierce protectiveness. "Better pray she’s not dead, Xavier," Marcus growled, his voice low and menacing. "Because if she is, nothing will save you from my wrath."

With that, he carried her, dashing for the healer’s chambers with a speed that belied his calm exterior. Mirian’s limp form bounced gently in his arms, eyes closed and face pale, a stark contrast to the blood spreading across her throat.

Marcus’s heart pounded in his chest, his mind racing with the possibility that he might be too late. "Mirian, please stay with me."
