Mated to Four Alphas -
Chapter 47: Eating in convience store
Chapter 47: Eating in convience store
Silas’s POV
"Because of you? Then can you tell me the reason?"
"Of course! That shop owner doesn’t know how to bake cakes. So, I taught him how to bake, and now he has lost all his customers."
Wow. His lying is funny, but not enough to make me laugh. Still, he has a talent for bullshitting.
"And you know, there was no road here five years ago."
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah! Then, I started walking from here, and now they’ve become fortunate enough to build a road and open many shops."
"Enough with your jokes. Just tell me—how is Orian now?"
As I asked, he turned his face towards me, though I pretended to keep looking ahead.
"Wait a moment... how do you know Orian?"
"I met him once, that’s why. Now just answer my question."
"I don’t know... but I’m sure he’ll be fine."
I grabbed his hand to stop him. "What do you mean you don’t know anything?"
"I haven’t met him since I came back from the tournament, that’s why."
"He’s your mate! Then why haven’t you met him? He must be waiting for you!" I said, worried.
"He has Kael with him, so why should I go? Besides, I don’t plan on making him my mate anyway."
"HOW... how can you say that?"
Just then, I realized I shouldn’t raise my voice. We were still outside.
"You better explain why you don’t want to make him your mate."
As soon as we reached the convenience store, he hurried inside. I followed him, but the moment he stepped in and saw who was at the cash counter, his bright expression darkened. He walked back to me.
"His shift is over."
Well, what could I say? It was indeed unfortunate that his friend wasn’t here, the one he had come to meet. But I wasn’t here to meet anyone—I was here to eat! So, I wasn’t going to make myself gloomy. Instead, I grabbed a pack of kimbap, two hamburgers, and a hot dog.
After putting them in the oven for a moment, I sat down. That’s when I noticed Theron was still standing there, looking outside. He looked lonely... so I felt a little bad for him.
"Hey, Theron, come eat with me."
"Okay."
I thought he would refuse, but he agreed so quickly! The next moment, he was sitting beside me, eyeing my food like he wanted to eat it. When I asked him to eat with me, I meant he should get his own food... but he clearly didn’t get it.
So, I handed him one of my hamburgers, and he immediately started eating. I ate the other one.
It was amazing. I had no words to describe the taste—it was just incredible. While eating, I glanced at Theron. He was enjoying his burger, too.
"Theron, now explain to me—why don’t you want to make Orian your mate?"
"Because he grew up with us. He’s like a younger brother to me."
"No! You have to make him your mate!"
"Wait... are you forcing me right now?"
Of course, I was forcing him! I didn’t want my brother to face the same fate as me—where his mate rejects him. I wanted my brother to receive love from everyone.
"Look, I’m not forcing you... but Orian is cute. He has a gentle personality. So, don’t treat him badly, okay?"
"Enough about Orian now. You tell me about yourself. Are you single? Don’t you have a mate?"
My heart ached at his question. The word mate only reminded me of Zarek. I knew he must be happy now that he had Ciel—the one he truly loved. Once again, I was stepping into memories I was supposed to forget.
"I’m single."
"Really? Then don’t you feel scared sitting with an Alpha at night? What if I do something... funny?"
I smiled at Theron. "If you really try to do something to me, I won’t spare you."
"No! I’m scared of you! And don’t worry—I won’t do anything. But I can’t guarantee that you won’t do something to me."
"That was a really bad joke," I said.
"Hehehe... You got me!"
After eating, I stayed there for a while and sent a message to Nekol, telling him I was at the convenience store eating. I told him not to worry, but he hadn’t read it yet. If he had, he would have immediately called me—he was that kind of person who worried about others the most.
Just then, the power in the convenience store went out, and darkness spread everywhere. In that darkness, something touched my hand slightly.
"Aaaaaa!"
"Hey! Why are you screaming?"
"Theron... something touched my hand just now!"
And then, that slight touch turned into a grip.
"Silas, it’s me. I’m holding your hand."
This idiot! I really thought some kind of ghost was standing beside me, holding my hand! I quickly turned on my phone’s flashlight and started flashing it around—just to make sure there were no ghosts.
A second later, the power came back on, and I sighed in relief.
"Are you scared of the dark, Silas?"
"Of course not! I was just testing you. And why would I be scared? There are no ghosts in this world!"
"Hehehe... So you are afraid. But I have a way to help you feel relaxed in the darkness."
"Oh? And what way is that?"
"Ahem~... It’s simple. Just think—if there really is a ghost and your time has come to die, then you’ll die. So why stress? Just relax. And if you do see a ghost and nothing happens to you, it means your time hasn’t come yet. So, fight your fear."
...What? I didn’t understand a single thing he just said. I thought he was going to give me some useful advice, but once again, he just spouted nonsense. I really couldn’t understand him.
"I don’t get what you mean... but thanks for the shitty advice."
"You won’t understand now. But when you’re in that position, you’ll get it. And when I say ghost... that ghost can be anything—darkness, humans, or even animals. So, what I was trying to say is—"
He suddenly stopped without finishing his sentence.
"What? Finish your sentence!"
