Chapter 138: Lupin pack - 33

Silas’s POV

As we were leaving the room, I mustered the courage to glance back. I didn’t see anything except darkness, but it felt like something was still lurking under the bed.

We both stepped out of the room and looked around the silent corridors. It felt eerie, too quiet.

Damon was glancing around, deep in thought. I couldn’t tell what was going through his mind. What could he be thinking? Just then, he grabbed my hand and started walking quickly.

"Why are you in such a hurry? I’ll fall if you pull me like that!" I complained.

"We really need to leave this hospital right now."

Damon’s voice was serious,If he was serious, then something was definitely wrong.

There was someone in that room — he had sensed their presence. First i didn’t believe but he was indeed right. Damon is is really something.

The power outage was one thing, but the fact that the hospital seemed completely empty was the real issue.

As we walked, every room, every ward was silent — no patients, no soldiers, no doctors. It felt like we were the only ones left in the entire hospital.

And we couldn’t take the elevator — probably because it wasn’t working cuz of outage, Damon and I headed for the staircase.

It felt like we were running through a ghost town, chased by something unseen. My heart pounded, and the fear of stopping, of being caught by whatever was following us, gripped me tightly.

Even though I couldn’t hear any footsteps or sounds behind me, that suffocating sense of being hunted didn’t leave.

Finally, we reached the first floor. But it was the same — empty, eerily silent.

The main gate of the hospital was still open, and we rushed toward it. Just as we were about to reach it, the door slammed shut.

Damon tried to open it, but it wouldn’t budge. "What the fuck?" he muttered.

"What do we do now? Are we stuck here?"

Panic clawed at me. We were trapped — locked inside a powerless, dark hospital.

Damon’s phone flashlight wasn’t strong enough to cut through the thick darkness. The doors were locked. The silence pressed in on us.

This felt like a scene straight out of a horror movie — and I had no idea if we were going to make it out alive.

Suddenly, we heard a strange noise. It sounded like someone was scratching the walls, and it was coming from the upper floors.

My eyes shot up, expecting something to jump out at us at any moment. My whole body trembled, and I hugged Damon’s arm tightly.

My heart pounded so fast I thought it might burst. I had no idea what was happening.

Damon glanced around before suddenly heading to the right. Fear shot through me — was he leaving me alone here?

I quickly followed, refusing to let go of his arm. When we reached the right side, I noticed a fire extinguisher on a shelf. I had no idea why we were there, but Damon grabbed the extinguisher without a word.

"Why do you need a fire extinguisher, Mr. Damon?" I asked nervously.

He didn’t answer. Instead, he marched to the main door, adjusted his glasses, and then — bam!

He slammed the extinguisher against the door. Over and over, he struck it with all his strength.

Finally, after several hard hits, the door broke down. It must have been the last barrier keeping us trapped.

The moment the door broke open, we didn’t hesitate. We ran outside as fast as we could. Just before we fully escaped, I glanced back at the hospital. My heart nearly stopped.

The whole building looked abandoned, like no one had stepped inside for centuries.

Cracked walls, peeling paint, broken windows — everything was in ruins. Everything we had seen earlier that afternoon.

The hospital had looked so new, like it was just built. Busy, bustling, full of life. Now, it was nothing but a ghostly shell.

No buses, no soldiers, no doctors, no nurses, no patients — just us, standing there in the cold, silent night.

Was everything we saw earlier just our hallucination?

So many questions hovered in my mind. I didn’t know what to think or say anymore. My jaw hung open in shock after seeing all that.

"Mr. Damon, look at this all! Please tell me, am I dreaming right now?"

"Of course you’re not. This is real. That’s what I felt when I was in the hospital. When we came out of the room, I couldn’t sense the presence of any living human."

So that’s why Damon was in such a rush to leave the hospital. It all made sense now.

But what now? Where were the others? If the hospital was abandoned, what about the soldiers, the doctors? Were they real, or were they just illusions?

Damon started glancing around, trying to make sense of what was happening.

Meanwhile, I stood frozen, staring at the hospital. My eyes darted nervously, and then I saw it — the sixth floor, where my room was.

My eyes widened as I saw them — two glowing eyes staring at me through the darkness.

No face, no body, just those eyes piercing through the shadows. A chill ran down my spine.

It felt wrong, like something out of a nightmare.

I stood frozen, unable to move, my eyes locked onto that eerie sight. Just then, something touched my shoulder, making me flinch. Startled, I turned around, and it was Damon.

"What? Why are you looking up there like that?" he asked, his brows furrowing.

"Mr. Damon, don’t you think that thing is really strange and scary?"

I pointed to the spot where I had seen those eyes. But when I looked again, there was nothing. Just darkness. Yet, a moment ago, I was sure something was there.

"What is there?" Damon asked, glancing up.

"I swear there was something staring at me—I saw it with my own eyes!" I tried to explain, my voice trembling. Of course, I was scared.
