Chapter 116: Lupin pack - 11
Silas’s POV
As the voice calling me grew louder, I opened my eyes. But when I did, I was no longer in the cave. Kael was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, I found myself in a strange, dark place—an endless abyss stretching beyond sight.
I had no idea what was happening. Panic surged through me as I quickly stood up, glancing around to make sense of my surroundings. Am I dreaming right now?
There was no path, no light. Yet somehow, I could see everything clearly—if you could even call it "everything" in this pitch-black void. And then, I heard it again.
"Silas."
The voice came from ahead. I turned toward it immediately, my heart pounding.
"Who are you? Where am I? And how do you know my name?"
I didn’t get an answer right away. Silence hung in the air for a few moments before the voice finally spoke again.
"You always used to blame me, saying I made you incomplete. That I wasn’t like the other omegas. You always complained... ever since childhood."
It was a woman’s voice—elegant and calm. But her words confused me. I blamed her? I said I was incomplete?
What was she even talking about? I had never heard her voice before in my life. How could I have complained to someone I didn’t even know?
"Excuse me, I think you’re mistaken. But still... you know my name. And you somehow brought me here. Do you know magic or something?"
"Silas, I didn’t bring you anywhere. You’re still sleeping. This is your dream. We’re inside your dream right now. And... you really don’t recognize me?"
"Of course I don’t! How am I supposed to recognize you just by your voice? At least show yourself in front of me!"
But instead of an answer, all I heard was a soft chuckle.
She still didn’t show herself.
"My child, I know your life hasn’t been easy, but believe me, in the future, you will live the most beautiful and peaceful life. You will be happy with your mates."
"Miss, why are you calling me my child? Is this some kind of prank? Am I really dreaming right now? I don’t understand anything... Oh, don’t tell me you’re the Moon Goddess."
That was the wildest thought I had ever imagined. The Moon Goddess? Like she would ever appear in front of me.
"Indeed, I am."
"What did you just say? You’re the Moon Goddess? No, I don’t believe you. If you really are, then tell me something I’ve only ever said to the Moon Goddess."
"You wanted to be an omega... like Ciel."
My breath hitched. Yes, those were the exact words I had once said to the Moon Goddess. But still, I couldn’t believe her. She wasn’t even showing herself—only her voice echoed around me.
"Silas, I came to you for another reason. When you wake up, there will be a child. He needs your help."
"A child? Who needs my help? Wait—if you’re really the Moon Goddess, at least show yourself so I can believe you! And what is this about a child now? Who is he? Why does he need my help?"
"He is your child. And your four mates’ child."
The moment I heard that, my eyes widened.
What?! My child? And my—wait, how many?
"Four mates?! I have four mates?! I can’t even handle one, and now you’re telling me I have four?!"
I ran a hand through my hair, completely overwhelmed.
"Miss Moon Goddess, if this is a joke, it’s not funny. Because my child and my mates? Yeah... I don’t buy that."
Suddenly, a thought struck me—Did I die in my sleep? Is this the afterlife?
And the one talking to me... Could it be a Grim Reaper?
What if this so-called Moon Goddess is actually a Grim Reaper messing with me right now?
I was about to say something when I heard her voice again.
"If you abandon that child, he’s going to die. How can he survive when his own mother abandons him? The rest is up to you."
And—snap!
My eyes flew open.
I found myself back in Kael’s arms, inside the cave, while the heavy snowfall continued outside.
After glancing around, I realized it was just a dream. Everything I saw, that conversation—it was all my imagination.
I had been so tense in my dream, but now that I was awake, I let out a sigh of relief.
What was all that talk about my child? I don’t even have a mate right now. Then how could I possibly have a child?
And not just any child—my own child and my four mates’ child? That’s impossible. No one would believe that.
I shook my head, brushing off the ridiculous thought.
When I glanced at Kael, his eyes were closed, and he was really, really freezing. His body was getting colder by the second.
Without hesitation, I sat up and pulled him into my arms. My arms were small, but I still tried my best to give him warmth.
Suddenly, Kael moved, resting his head on my lap while lying on the cold ground.
I instinctively covered him with my hands, trying to hug him and keep him warm.
I didn’t want him to get sick. If he falls ill, how am I supposed to leave this place? I can’t just leave him here, right?
Outside, the snowfall grew even heavier, and for a moment, a terrifying thought crossed my mind—We might really die here.
I forgot about the dream, the child, and everything else. Right now, there was only one thing in my mind—I can’t die like this.
Dying at the hands of those wolves would have been terrifying, but freezing to death in the snow, slowly losing all feeling... That was even more horrifying.
My hands were frozen. It felt like my whole body would turn to ice soon, and I wouldn’t be able to move.
And just then, I felt someone’s touch on my back.
