Chapter 474: Chapter 438 Demon God

Bolis was in a great mood tonight, not only because it was a holiday but also because he had struck a big deal with the Longhua Association. This evening, Chang Hao from the Longhua Association had come over, and the two parties had essentially finalized their agreement. It was almost as good as settled, and all Bolis had to do was wait to collect the money.

The deal had been somewhat rushed in the making, yet the profit from the deal was so high that it could be said that as long as it was successful, it would mark a major turning point in Bolis’s life. It would represent him entering a new phase of his life, where he could begin rapid expansion of his power. In River County, he would have even more say and standing.

A dawn of hope on the horizon!

He sat on the balcony of the third floor of the villa, where he could see through the window the voluptuous beauties frolicking and playing with a bunch of subordinates in the heated swimming pool below, stirring some desire in him. He thought of the two women he had bound and brought to his bedroom yesterday and decided he could have some good fun tonight.

He had peculiar tastes, not interested in women who came willingly for money; he preferred to force others, to see them in pain and despair under him, so he often abducted women from outside to play with.

Of course, accidents while playing were common, but Bolis knew his limits. Those he targeted were insignificant people without power or influence. If they died, they died, and no one would hold him accountable.

"Mr. Chang, shall I set something up for you later?" Bolis said to Chang Hao, who was sitting next to him.

The two had finished talking about their deal and were now casually chatting over red wine on the balcony.

Chang Hao glanced at the swimming pool below and shook his head with a smile, "No need. Since we’re done here, I’ll take my leave."

Bolis placed his hand on Chang Hao’s shoulder, "You’ve come all this way, and it’s a holiday today, I must treat you well!"

Chang Hao raised his glass in a toasting gesture, "Thanks for your kindness, but the situation has been a bit tense lately. The boss said to keep a low profile while outside, so I’d better leave now."

Bolis took a sip of red wine, "I know you’ve been fighting fiercely with the Hongmen Zhiqing Hall lately, but their main territory is in Meng city. Here in River County, their reach doesn’t extend this far. You have nothing to worry about!"

Bang!

As the words left his lips, gunfire erupted.

The expression on Bolis’s face froze, and Chang Hao’s complexion also changed.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Intense gunfire followed, along with screams.

"What’s happening?"

After all, as a major figure, Bolis quickly regained his composure and turned to ask his men.

"Somebody has broken in," one of his subordinates quickly replied.

"How many people? What’s their background?"

While asking, Bolis walked to the other side of the room and looked down through the window, Chang Hao also rose and followed.

"It’s unclear who... it looks like... it looks like there’s only one person..." replied a subordinate, who was observing the situation through the window.

"One person is causing this much commotion?"

Back when Bolis was young, he had been a mercenary, witnessing and hearing about some very capable individuals; the best special agents could infiltrate a military base on their own to conduct assassinations, or that underworld’s God of Guns could walk into a major gang headquarters and kill back and forth... but Bolis didn’t believe he would encounter such individuals. The United States government certainly had top special agents, but to deal with him, there was no need to send agents – a SWAT team would be more than enough.

"Could it be one of my rivals sending someone to stir up trouble? But it doesn’t make sense to send just one person..."

As these thoughts went through his mind, Bolis just caught a glimpse of a figure darting out from behind a tree below, rushing behind an overturned wooden table, taking down a man with a knife, and then disappearing like a ghost.

Bolis took a deep breath, frowning, "I don’t care who he is or how many there are, kill him!"

"Mr. Bolis, do you think we should leave here first?"

Chang Hao, too, had seen what had happened and felt uneasy, so he suggested to Bolis.

Bolis turned to look at him, a smile on his face, "Mr. Chang, how many men did you bring with you tonight?"

Chang Hao was taken aback, "I came secretly tonight, with only seven people."

A malevolent look flashed across Bolis’s face, "And do you know how many men I have here?"

"Uh..."

"Get Pike and the others moving! Also, call Will to bring more men over!"

Bolis commanded. He had thrown a lavish party to celebrate tonight, so naturally, he didn’t neglect to take precautions, as he had many enemies.

In the villa’s courtyard, there were already a dozen patrolling underlings, and more than twenty more were waiting in the basement. If that wasn’t enough, just hold out for ten minutes, and more than a hundred people could keep coming from the outside!

So Bolis wasn’t worried about his own safety at all. All he wanted to know was who was causing the trouble, ruining Christmas; it was infuriating!

Seeing Bolis’s stance, Chang Hao couldn’t say much more and could only stand and wait.

From their vantage point, they could no longer see the fight below, only hear the relentless sound of gunfire.

Three minutes passed, and the gunfire was still ongoing.

"What’s Pike doing? Why isn’t this resolved yet? Shall I go down myself?"

Bolis was getting angry, finding it utterly ridiculous that the fighting continued. Was the opponent really that hard to deal with?

"Boss!"

A subordinate hurried upstairs, "Pike is dead! We... we’ve suffered heavy casualties!"

Pike was momentarily stunned. The rage that had initially been on his face had vanished, replaced by a somewhat vacant look, "How is that possible?"

The sound of gunfire had gradually subsided below, but not a single one of the underlings had come up to report that the enemy had been dealt with.

"He’s coming in!"

The underling downstairs was yelling, followed by intense gunfire.

"Fuck!"

Pike turned and rushed into the nearby study, and moments later, he emerged wearing a bullet-proof vest, holding an AK47 in his hand. He was a veteran warrior who had been through many battles; yet, without even having joined the fight, his forehead was already covered in sweat, clearly enduring a psychological ordeal and immense pressure.

"Boss, I’ll stop him!"

Seeing Pike charge out with a gun, his close underling quickly intercepted him, picked up a gun, and with two more underlings, rushed downstairs.

Chang Hao felt his mouth dry and parched. Wiping the sweat from his forehead, he said to the people beside him, "You guys go too!"

He had brought seven people with him this time, all elite members of the Longhua Association. There were also seven or eight of Pike’s men in the villa, his personal bodyguards. Logically, if there was only one opponent, it should be impossible for them to reach the top floor by any means.

"Wasn’t Li San seriously injured? What other experts could there be from Zhiqing Hall and Zhiyuan Hall? Could it be the experts from other branches of Hongmen?"

Chang Hao speculated in his mind. He had this persistent feeling that the attack tonight was aimed directly at him.

Gunfire erupted intensely downstairs...

Gunfire, corpses, blood flowing freely, walls scorched by flames—under the moonlight, the entire villa resembled an ancient, bleak painting.

Bodies were strewn haphazardly across the corridor, the rooms, and those who remained had been pushed back to the second floor, finding places to take cover.

During the previous combat, that shadow, which resembled a Demon God, had run out of knives to throw and had casually picked up tableware—knives and forks—and hurled them, striking people in the eyes or neck with inconceivable precision and speed, deterring the rest from daring to show their heads.

However, that shadow was rapidly approaching, dancing amid a vast expanse of gunfire. Blood sprayed from an unknown source as a comrade was kicked away, his body nearly folding as it was launched through the air. Revolvers spun, hitting those nearby.

Triggers vibrated the air, dust swirling in motion, bullets spinning as they traversed, drawing spiraling lines of blood from bodies. Someone shouted loudly, gripped their gun tightly, and rushed out from their hiding spot.

Beside him, a companion had a silver dinner knife stuck in his neck. Before he could fire his gun, that shadow loomed suddenly before him, colliding fiercely. The shadow’s hands crossed, one holding a dagger in a reverse grip, swiftly slashing across.

The body was flung into the air, blood spurting out...

The screams from below turned Pike’s face pale, his body beginning to tremble slightly.

"How much longer?"

"Hurry over!"

"Quick, quick!"

He didn’t know how many times he had called to urge the underlings on the periphery to hurry over with reinforcements. Time that had once seemed ample now became the grim reaper’s ticking countdown; it hadn’t even been ten minutes since the intruder was spotted...

At that moment, Pike finally began to believe that he might have crossed paths with some devil.

Suddenly, it became eerily quiet outside; no more gunfire, as footsteps that seemed to come from afar gradually grew louder.

Inside the room, besides Pike and Chang Hao, each had left an underling with them. All four men were now aiming their guns at the tightly shut wooden door, their expressions tense.

Boom!

The wooden door was kicked open.

"Ah—"

Pike, holding the AK47, screamed as he pulled the trigger, and Chang Hao also opened fire towards that direction. Bullets flew, turning the rushing figure into a bloody sieve.

Seconds later, when the men stopped firing, they realized that the body on the floor belonged to one of Pike’s underlings.

"We’re screwed..."

As the thought rose, a shadow had already burst in, both hands flinging two daggers in rapid succession.

"Ah!"

A dagger pierced the arms of both Pike and Chang Hao, and the two screamed in agony.

At the same time, the shadow dodged the shooting from the two underlings, closing the distance in an instant. A Splitting Fist struck one, followed by a shoulder charge that hit the other.

Boom!

Both were hurled away, their guns dropping to the floor.

Pike and Chang Hao, enduring the pain, tried to raise their guns in resistance but felt a sharp pain in their wrists a second later—their bones were broken.

"Whew..."

Finally, the shadow stopped moving.

Under the bright lights, a human shadow was cast onto the wall, appearing unusually tall, like a Demon God.
