Marry The Devil
Chapter 39

Chapter 39: Chapter 39

~Mala’s POV

Francis’ cold words hit me like a rock. My heart ached. He didn’t even spare me a glance. He turned his back against me and said those words to me.

At that point, I no longer knew what to say.

I was caught up in my head, wondering if it was true and Francis and I were never meant to be.... or if our fate was something that we could change.

"Maybe if I don’t speak and you turn away from me like that, you’ll be able to use your powers," I said, sounding almost inaudible but I knew he would hear me. My heart ached so much that I could barely speak.

"I have told you before. I can’t do anything when I’m around you!" Francis yelled.

I flinched, a new batch of tears rolled down my face when he raised his voice at me.

"Could you at least try? I’ll be quiet, I promise. You wouldn’t even know that I’m here. I just....I just want to watch you one more time. It might be the last so please...this means alot to me," I begged, crying.

Seeing the man I had loved so much treat me with such resentment and fear made my whole life feel like hell. Never had I thought a day would come when Francis would ask me to leave.

But there was nothing I could do about it.

I doubted that anyone would ever understand how I felt. I was seeing my lover...for the very last time...never to meet again.

Francis didn’t utter a word, instead, he tried and his powers worked.

Realizing how powerless I truly made him made me hug myself tightly.

He made a replica of me with the maid and without saying goodbye, Francis vanished.

With my whole body trembling, I stood up and grabbed the girl, dragging her towards the corner that I was kept in. I cried silently.... thinking about how empty I felt.

I sniffled and walked towards the door.

I knew escaping Crescent village was a complete task on its own. The guards would definitely be asked to watch me and Francis didn’t seem like he was going to help.

I rested my back on the wall, trying to handle the pain, the guilt and the fear when the door was pushed open.

My eyes widened, knowing that there were two of me in the room.

If it was the old man..I knew I was dead already.

Lord Chris walked in and he halted the moment I stood in front of him.

His blue eyes were locked in mine and a smirk lightened his face.

"You’re awake," he said. His hands came, tucking my hair beneath my ear.

With the way he looked at me, I knew that she still wanted me. I decided to grab the opportunity...maybe that way, I would find my way out of the palace.

I smiled back at him and without a warning, I pulled him towards me and kissed him. He immediately kissed me back ....our tongues wrestled and he sucked my lips.

He reminded me of Francis.

I wasn’t able to take it anymore, so I broke the kiss, but I made sure that I didn’t show how hurt I was.

"This is new," he teasingly said. "You never want to touch me. You’re always going on and on about your feelings for your damn king," Lord Chris spoke.

I chuckled and gently stroked his face with my finger. "The King doesn’t want me like I want him. What’s the point in being with a confused king when I can have a wizard all to myself?" I asked and I bit my lips.

I made sure I looked genuine, like I meant those words. It was surprising how I had mastered the art of pretending and hiding my pain.

I just needed to use that lustful wizard to find my way out of the palace.

"It seems like someone now knows has to make the right decision."

Lord Chris grabbed me and I gasped.

"I am willing to give you everything that Francis has failed to. I’ll make you my Queen. You’ll be by my side...forever, Mala," lord Chris promised.

I looked into his eyes and smiled.

Only if he knew that even if he tried for ten years, he still wouldn’t be able to give me what Francis gave in only a short while. The way he made me feel, the things he made me feel. His touch, his voice, his smile, the time he would hold me and cry.....they were all irreplaceable.

I was never going to feel it again.

Francis was gone.

"You have nothing to worry about, Mala. I can slit my wife’s throat because of you. I’ll send that thing she calls a son far beyond where you’ll ever find it."

There was no way I would be with a man who called his son a thing and was willing to slit his wives throat because of the way he felt about another woman.

He would definitely kill me too if he found someone else.

"Instead of staying here....why don’t we go somewhere more private and comfortable?" I asked.

My heart raced after saying those words. I feared that he would suspect that I was upto something.

Surprisingly, he didn’t think twice and he agreed to take me to his room.

I didn’t know how, but I planned to make him sleep and I’d leave before he would wake up.

We were finally in his room and Lord Chris immediately lost control. He ran his hands across my body and kissed me. I was trying so hard not to make it obvious that I was irritated by his touch.

Suddenly, he stopped. He looked at me and kissed my forehead. "We should leave this for the day you’re completely mine. It’ll be more exciting for me then," he whispered.

Sigh.....

"It’ll be hard for me to wait, but I will," I answered, flashing a smile.

"You should go back there now and wait for me. Be a good girl and don’t try anything crazy. I love you, but I can be dangerous, Mala. These soft hands can tear a human apart." his eyes suddenly turned red.

I felt chills under my skin. His voice and words were cold.

I doubted if I would make it out alive, but I still had to smile.

"Do not keep me waiting for so long wizard. I’ll be waiting for your touch and your spells," I whispered before walking out of the room.

What waited for me on the other side of that door was unknown. But all I knew was that I needed to live.

******

Lord Chris wore his favorite white attire. His fragrance filled the room as he remembered how Mala had touched him the night before.

He smirked, thinking of how he would make Mala his completely.

That night, Lord Chris knew that he would be getting the spell book from Sir. Oliver. He was ready for anything that was coming. All he wanted to save Mala and get rid of Francis.

Ever since they were younger, he had always hated Francis and instead of getting rid of the hatred, it only grew stronger.

Lord Chris exited his room and made his way to Francis’ study, having no other aim but to get under his skin.

"And why would you come in her without asking me first?" Francis growled.

Seeing Francis’ red eyes, Lord Chris chuckled. "Wild huh? Seems like you really can’t live without Mala as well. I can relate. I feel the same way too. I just don’t turn into a monster when I miss her," Lord Chris revealed.

"Watch your tongue! I do not miss Mala! And how dare you talk to me like that!" Francis sneered and the lantern broke.

Lord Chris bowed. "Forgive me, your highness. Do not mind my lose mouth. You know how spoilt I was as a child."

"Leave before I kill you without even realizing it!" Francis threatened.

"Your highness, I am sorry if it seems as if I have come to disrespect me. I only came to tell me how much I enjoyed what you rejected," lord Chris uttered with a warm smile.

Francis tightened his grip on the book. "And what’s that supposed to mean?"

"Mala was with me last night. And I must say, she’s quite a good kisser," Lord Chris spoke. The next minute, lord Chris found himself pinned against the wall.

"How dare you!" Francis sneered as his hands burned his neck.

Lord Chris choked.

Francis finally got a hold of himself and he let go of his. "I do....I do not understand why you have chosen to get angry, your highness. You do not want Mala any more, do you? I picked her up and she embraced me. Mala kissed me like a slut. Her scent is heavenly...it makes a wizard feel like an angel. Her gaze, her touch....her body....her skin.....all mine. And how does this make you feel your highness, knowing that all of these no longer belong to you?"

Lord Chris had blood running out of his nose, but his mouth was still as sharp as a newly made sword.

Francis stood up...his breathe was heavy and his heart raced more than usual.

"If I don’t have Mala....then no one will!" Francis seethed. Lord Chris was suspended in the air, and Francis had his jaws locked, ready to kill his own cousin.
