Marry The Devil
Chapter 31

Chapter 31: Chapter 31

I missed the times when Francis would say I was being petty. I could swear at that point that it felt like I couldn’t breathe.

"Your father wouldn’t dare to disobey me," he added and I swallowed.

"Good night," I said. I gave him a peck and turned towards the other side.

"That’s all I get?" Francis asked and I nodded. I was still lying in masculine hands.

"Stop being so petty Francis and just sleep," I answered with my eyes completely shut.

I had never felt so shy my whole life.

"Promise me you’ll let me do it when we get to silver village," he said.

"Sleep," I answered.... somebody, tell Francis to stop asking for it like he’s asking for bread.

"Promise me," he repeated.

"Please Francis, just sleep," I answered, trying to hide my face.

"I am a thousand times stronger than you are. It’ll cost me nothing to pin you to the ground and get inside you deep enough. Promise me," he said, this time, his voice was thicker and he spoke with a sense of command that I couldn’t deny.

"I...I promise," I answered and his lips curved with a smile.

"Good girl," he whispered, gently getting my hair away from my face. He finally got up and covered me up with the other black fabric, then he sat in front of me.

"Are you not going to sleep?" I asked, my voice was as low as possible. I still felt uncomfortable that we slept outside but since I was with Francis, I knew I had nothing to worry about.

"I doubt that I’ll be able to wait till we get to silver village if I sleep next to you," he answered and I shut my eyes even tighter.

"Sit well then," I answered, then I shut my eyes, waiting for the sleep to hit me and take me far away but as much as I tried, I couldn’t.

Images of Francis kissing and trying to undress me kept playing in my head and I would constantly feel it moving through my body.

"If you can’t get me off your mind, you can hold me if you want to," his thick voice said.

"No, thank you. I have no trouble sleeping," I stupidly answered. I should have just kept my mouth shut.

"I’ll keep my hands to myself. I promise," he said as he moved closer to me, then he gently raised my head and placed it on his lap. "Better?" He asked and I nodded with a warm smile.

"Thank you," I whispered before closing my eyes.

It felt so good to be loved. I was sure that nothing could possibly go wrong.

I was about to get married to a man who loved me, who adored me, who wanted me and most of all, a man who would never hurt me.

Finally, the morning came and the first thing I met with was Francis’ face above mine. "You weren’t staring at me like that all through the night, were you?" I asked, smiling like a child.

His eyes were still shut, but he still remained flawless. "Start getting used to it. I would stare at you like this and watch you rest every night after I have exhausted all of the strength you have," he said with a smirk.

I almost choked on my own saliva and I immediately stood up. It was so early in the morning. Would he at least give me a break?

"We should get going before the hunger kicks in. I do not know how long you can last without food," Francis said as he stood up, then he arranged his hair with his hands.

"We should at least find a stream first and have some water to drink. Travelling to Silver Village by foot is going to be quite hard," I said.

I knew I was barely going to survive it, but it was definitely worth it, wasn’t it?

I would be getting married to someone whom everyone called a ruthless devil.

Only someone like him could match with me. I was a curse, and he, a devil.

"Woman, would you please let’s start going or are you going to keep staring at me all day?" He asked, with pride in his voice.

"You can’t blame me," I answered smiling and immediately changed the topic before he would say anything about sleeping with me again.

"Where are we taking? The south river or the western flower path?" I asked.

Francis laughed and he walked towards me. He stared at my feets and laughed. "The only thing those tiny legs can do is to spread wide apart for me. Those legs can’t get us anywhere."

I cleared my throat. "Do you not think of anything else?" I asked and shamelessly he shook his head. "I can’t," he answered, then boom he vanished.

My heart almost jumped out of my chest, but before I knew it, he was back.

I should get used to the surprises.. I would be getting married to someone who had Lucifer’s power, not a cozy human prince.

He had clothes in his hands and finally, he had his gorgeous chest covered.

"We should get you to a stream to have your bath," he said and he grabbed my hand.

I thought I was shameless, not until Francis kept his gaze on me the whole time as I washed my body. Not for a second did he take his eyes of me, but as usual, out gaze didn’t meet.

Soon I was done and I stepped out of the river. He wrapped me with some clothes and the he looked into the river. "You’re lucky. Even I haven’t tasted that much," he said and I shook my head.

Somebody, bring innocent Francis back.

I got dressed and even though it wasn’t in front of a mirror in a palace, it felt beautiful. It had been a while since anyone sincerely helped me get dressed. He tied my corsets and arranged my hair. He would kiss me with every opportunity that he had and constantly whisper how beautiful I looked into my ears.

I felt blessed.

"Shall we?" He asked and he took my head.

I nodded and in the blink of an eyes, we were back and Silver Village, the place where my happiness and sadness originated from.

*****

We arrived at the entrance of my father’s Palace. The guards immediately recognized him and they bowed and made way for us....but I still felt invisible. The only reason they weren’t throwing stones at me was because Francis was holding my hand.

For me, home didn’t feel like home. It felt like hell. It only reminded me of how my mother was murdered by Queen Venessa and hated by the man who married her.

I walked through the family ground and heard the drums roll, acknowledging Francis’ presence.

My heart ached. I wanted to go back, but it was only right that we did things the right way, even though a part of me doubted that father would even want to see me.

I had left for almost two moons and he didn’t bother to look back or check if I was still alive.

"Are you okay?" Francis asked and I forced a smile through my lips. "I can burn anyone that makes you uncomfortable," he said and I laughed.

"Thank you," I whispered and father stepped out of the palace to welcome us with Queen Venessa and my step brothers.

Father took off his crown and they all bowed. The unsatisfied looks on their faces couldn’t be hidden. They wondered why I was still alive and why Francis was holding me.

Queen Venessa’s familiar face made my blood boil.

"Your highness, we are honoured to have you here ... .with, Mala," Father said. I looked at him and he seemed quite bright.... happy.

I doubted that he even mourned my mother’s death. I thought he loved me but I guessed I was wrong. He wouldn’t abandon me if he truly did.

"Where was my mother buried?" I asked.

I just couldn’t hold it in anymore.

Francis looked at me and held tighter onto my hand. "Mala, I do not think you should. It’s only going to make you feel..."

"I doubt that they buried her properly," I spat.

"Why would you talk to his highness with such disrespect?" Queen Venessa said from where she stood, and they all completely ignored my question.

"And why would you open your mouth with such stupidity? I do not want to leave silver village without a queen. It’s the reason you’re still alive," Francis sneered.

She was kept in her place.

"Where is my mother, king Lucas?" I asked.

I didn’t refer to him as my father. He didn’t deserve it.

I looked at my father and the look in his eyes said a lot. Something wasn’t right.

"Where is she?" I asked. This time, I already had tears streaming down my face. "Where is she!" Francis yelled and I could feel the grounds shake. He held me and eot me in his embrace.

"She....she was buried at the last palace burial ground. Section 6," he answered and my heart was ripped into shreds.

"You mean where the bodies of servants who died as criminals are buried?" I asked and my whole body shook with anger.
