Chapter 298: Episode 11 Heather
Soka felt a warm sensation on her face, with shadows occasionally flying overhead, a cool breeze tickling her.
Opening her eyes, the little angel found herself lying on Zilvra’s lap, a few strands of silvery hair swaying in front of her nose. In a daze, she vaguely recalled having been through a grueling battle, countless angels fighting against a group of dark enemies, and she had exhausted all her strength.
But in the next moment, this already hazy memory vanished without a trace. Soka forgot why she was lying on Zilvra’s lap. Had she slept too long, or was she seriously ill? Could everything before just have been a dream?
Beautiful clouds drifted across the sky, and a flock of birds chattered by. Soka tilted her head but couldn’t find the beautiful shell-shaped ship. Now on a small boat, she was gently drifting with Lynch and Zilvra along the slight waves.
"Where is this? What time is it now?" Soka asked softly. As soon as she spoke, a dry sensation engulfed her throat, followed by thirst.
"You’re finally awake, little one," Lynch’s voice echoed in the angel’s ears, "This is the river leading to Salantir, named Erutalon, the god-given river. It is the afternoon of the fifth day since you fell into a coma."
"Brother Lynch, I’m so thirsty." The little angel tried to turn over but was held down by Zilvra. The female Drow picked up a water bottle and placed it to Soka’s mouth, "Drink."
"You’re still very weak, so don’t move around too much and just rest well," Lynch said, taking a string of berries from his backpack and handing it to Soka’s little hands, "We were both worried you wouldn’t make it."
"Thank you!" Soka popped the berries into her mouth, happily chewing, and then spat out the seeds into the river with a series of "puff, puff, puff," creating ripples. A group of small fish floated to the surface, staring at the floating seeds.
The water of Erutalon was as calm as a mirror, making it hard to see that it was slowly flowing. This tributary of the Fengduo River took a turn from within Haisas’s territory, flowing toward Moon. It’s a river full of magic power, said to carry the blessing spells of the elves through its waters. Whether a raging storm or torrential rain strikes, Erutalon remained equally calm. Even when a flood rushed down the Fengduo River, not a single piece of debris or sediment could be seen entering this tributary.
Just like the unchanging traditional lives of the elves for thousands of years, this "god-given" river continued to flow as always. The elves always praised this life-giving river in the most beautiful poems.
Soka lay comfortably on Zilvra’s lap, the soft and smooth "pillow" making her feel very comfortable. The berries in her hand and mouth emitted a tempting aroma, the sweet juice filling her mouth. A gentle breeze caressed her face, and the boat swayed lightly. Although she felt weak all over, this languid feeling made her even more relaxed and joyful.
"By the way, where’s the shell ship?" Soka suddenly thought of it, "I still want to eat some delicious fish."
"It doesn’t enter Moon’s territory; we’re already in the land of elves," Lynch said, touching Soka’s hair while looking at Zilvra, "This is the elves’ territory. We left Haisas this morning."
The female Drow naturally understood the mage’s meaning. Although from the appearance, no one would immediately categorize her as belonging to the Dark Elf race, if not careful, she might still encounter danger in this territory.
Yet, despite this possibility, Zilvra never questioned the mage’s decision. Since Lynch brought her to this place, entering the Elf Kingdom was her fate. Zilvra looked at the mage, trusting him to guide the way.
However, Lynch’s mind was occupied with other thoughts. As a living being who left the Underdark, especially as a defector Dark Elf, the most needed thing was the surface dwellers’ acceptance. If Zilvra could only feel free in his presence, while others looked at her with "hatred," Zilvra would merely be transferring from one cage to another prison, still imprisoned.
Therefore, in the Elf Kingdom, Lynch had a lot to do.
"Have I slept for such a long time? No wonder I’m so hungry," Soka said, smacking her lips, "I’m still a bit groggy. What happened these days? Why did I sleep for so long?"
