Chapter 293: Episode 9 Coming Dragon_3
Lynch’s gaze followed the two departing Druids towards the sky, where he noticed an unusual small black dot quickly heading towards the ship. He focused his vision and carefully observed the object.
"Uncle, no matter what happens, don’t come out!" Lynch shouted loudly into the cabin, then looked at the Eagle Head sitting next to him: "Speak! How did you anger the giant dragon enough for it to track you here?"
"We... didn’t..." Eagle Head was panting heavily, trying to speak, but always appeared helpless.
"Hmph!" Lynch looked at this awkward actor with disdain. The shadow of the giant dragon in the sky grew larger, and even if these Druids were thrown into the water now, it wouldn’t sever this ship’s connection with them. This time, they were implicated. Lynch could only hope that the dragon landing was old enough to remember the millennia-old pact and wouldn’t randomly attack mages.
When the dragon landed beside the ship, Lynch changed his mind. Now he hoped the dragon would be young, maybe one who hadn’t heard of the arcanist’s pact. This dragon, holding the bodies of the Ida brothers, was covered in yellow scales with a bunch of fluttering whiskers hanging from its chin. Lynch clutched his forehead, cursing his bad luck.
"It’s actually a Brass Dragon."
"Wow! What a beautiful little ship, the white sails and yellow hull match perfectly, even the name ’Shell’ is quite fitting. The only downside is some trash-like presence on this ship. Hmph! How could you runaway Druid truly leave my sight? I have a thousand years of experience dealing with little things like you! Now, quickly hand over what you stole, I don’t want to use my big claws to personally search where you’ve hidden your loot."
The stormy voice accompanied by sprays of water rushed towards the mage, fortunately, this Brass Dragon’s hygiene habits weren’t bad, or else the severe stench could have made the young mage dizzy. From Lynch’s collected knowledge, this type of dragon is inherently very kind, much like the golden dragons of similar color, they enjoy helping others; however, they also have a terrible habit deeply ingrained in their bones—a love for listening to stories and obsessively chatting with others.
The mage stepped back, slowly moving towards the cabin. Dragons of this kind usually don’t destroy things, and once they get what they want, they’ll definitely leave. The most frightening thing now was to be pestered by the talkative Brass Dragon.
Lynch’s movement caught the dragon’s attention, its window-sized pupil instantly spotted the human in black robes. The dragon tossed the battered Ida brothers next to their brother and brought its enormous head close to the mage for a careful examination.
Lynch nervously measured the dragon’s teeth against his own height. Although the Brass Dragon didn’t use its terrifying dragon might to shake the hearts of those around, its sheer size was enough to make Lynch feel a tremendous threat.
"I can smell the scent of a mage on you, the scent of magic." The Brass Dragon suddenly grinned, a thunderous "hehe" laugh echoing from its enormous mouth. "It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a mage, I really miss the old days. Those who knew strange spells always had such vibrant stories, they could talk to me for days without repetition! When I was young, I once spoke with a mage named... Casus, he was truly a delightful person. I still fondly remember those times. It’s a pity his life was so short. Though other dragons always say mages use magic to force us to serve them, I still long for the past, to return to days spent with mages."
"Oh." Lynch responded with a single word to the dragon’s lengthy speech.
"Tell me, young one, why are there so few mages like you now? Recently, when I awoke from my slumber, I searched everywhere for mages, but several high towers were empty. I was grateful to the Great Druid for waking me up, so I wouldn’t sleep through the ages, but I didn’t expect the world to be so dull. While chasing these three guys, I also wanted to find some people to chat with. But nowadays, people aren’t as brave as they used to be, they get scared out of their wits just seeing a dragon. I haven’t even done anything to them. Think back to the age of the Arcanists, we could easily blend with humans..."
