Chapter 289: Episode 8 Visitor_3
"Of course. You’ll know when you taste it." Van Dijk said with a smile, "Little girl, where are you from?"
"Ah! That’s right, what’s the name of my home?" Soka tilted her head and thought for a moment, then suddenly realized, "Oh, it’s called Sweet Sugar Mountain."
Hearing this, Lynch almost lost his balance and smashed the bowl in his hands. Heaven Mountain becoming Sweet Sugar Mountain, even the god named Pate might not be able to stand it.
The eagles in the sky began to descend under the cover of the night, but they couldn’t escape the mage’s eyes. He put down what was in his hand and, with a gentle wave, the powerful wand was in his grasp.
"You go ahead and eat, I’ll go take a look." Lynch said, "There are some uninvited guests."
Under the moonlight, three eagles landed on the shore, their bodies rapidly expanded, feathers slowly retracting into their bodies, muscles swelling, and in no time they transformed into human forms. They looked at the small boat docked by the river. The mage was now standing at the deck.
"Hello, friend." A druid greeted Lynch, "We are allies of nature, from the Druid Sect of the Sharp Teeth Forest."
Lynch glanced at the three people before him, all of whom were dressed in clothing woven from plant fibers, adorned with various bird feathers. In the moonlight, the paints on the druid’s cheeks glowed, and around their necks, they wore necklaces strung with animal teeth. These people walked barefoot on the rock-strewn ground as if strolling on soft grass. However, what reassured Lynch was that these three druids carried no weapons.
"Well then, come aboard, friends." A power wall technique was laid between the boat and the riverbank, Lynch intentionally let it emit a slight glow, so everyone could clearly see it. "As long as you mean no harm, I will welcome you."
The three men, with expressions of surprise, tentatively stepped onto the white-glowing passage. Their steps were light and swift as they quickly leapt onto the deck.
"My name is Ida Eagle Head, and these are my brothers, Ida Eagle Wing and Ida Eagle Claw. We come from the Sharp Teeth Forest. Young spellcaster, it’s an honor to welcome you to the territory of Haisas." With that, the three placed their right hands over their left chest, nodding in salute to Lynch.
"My name is Lynch, druid friends." Lynch returned the salute with a smile and said, "As a resident of Haisas, though I haven’t returned in many years, the honor of welcoming you should belong to me. May I ask what brings you here?"
"Are you a mage?" the younger Eagle Claw interrupted, "I’ve never seen any druid or priest perform such mana."
"Yes, my friend, I am a mage, and that’s why I haven’t returned for years." He took a closer look at Eagle Claw’s face, "You were the one watching me from the mountain, weren’t you?"
"It was me!" Ida Eagle Claw said. Not avoiding it, after confirming Lynch’s identity as a mage, his expression turned somewhat unnatural. To druids, mages were once the "pioneers" of nature’s destruction.
"If you’re a mage, then we..." Eagle Claw took a step back, his body tensed, eyes fixed on Lynch, like a leopard poised to seize its prey.
"If I were you, I wouldn’t act rashly." Lynch still maintained a smile, pointing to the corner behind him, "My friend is aiming a crossbow at you, and believe me, it likely has a lethal poison on it."
Following the direction the mage indicated, the three druids finally noticed Zilvra hidden in the shadows, a crossbow aimed at Eagle Claw’s heart. All three were taken aback, not expecting such a master of stealth to be present, none of them had detected the woman’s actions.
"I apologize for my brother’s behavior," Ida Eagle Head said, "He only reacted to your identity as a mage, not you personally."
"Perhaps." Lynch sneered at this explanation, "But if I’m hurt, the blood that spills will not be that of my mage identity but of me personally. Druids, what exactly brings you here?"
