Chapter 265: 2 episodes Lakeside_3
"Got it!" Lynch still stood beside Zilvra. Deluo and the others were gradually adjusting to the light, slowly walking down the slope.
"Lynch!" Zilvra suddenly exclaimed, "I can’t see anything. It’s all a white blur!" The Drow woman, relying on memory, grabbed the mage’s robe: "What’s happening? What should I do?"
Lynch pulled her up from the ground: "It’s because you’re not used to this brightness. After all, you still have Dark Elf blood in you, and the sun can harm you." The mage tore a strip of black cloth from his robe and tied it over Zilvra’s eyes: "Your eyes will recover after a while. In the future, try not to look at bright objects for too long. What you need now is to adapt slowly, don’t rush it."
Zilvra clung to the mage: "Lynch, when will I be able to look at this beautiful sky?"
"Very soon." The mage held Zilvra’s hand, placing it in the crook of his arm: "I estimate that before we reach the nearest town, you’ll be able to enjoy the scenery here just like I do. But for now, you have to listen and not strain your eyes too much; it wouldn’t be good to cause any lasting damage."
"You’ll have to lead me then," Zilvra said, "No objections allowed on that."
"Of course, when I promised you a happy world on the surface, I already thought of this possibility." The mage led the Drow woman toward his friends: "In the Underdark, you also guided me through the damp and perilous areas. Now, I’m just doing the same as you did then."
Deluo watched the two of them approaching slowly, letting out a chuckle. He elbowed Nimo beside him but hit the dwarf’s head: "Nimo, look, a rare sight..."
Lynch looked at Deluo and naturally heard his voice. However, the mage made no comment about it. The little angel Soka, flying in the air, kept urging everyone to move toward the lake. Lynch had her land to proceed together with everyone.
"Soka, at the exits from the Underdark leading to the surface, there might be organizations hostile to underground creatures. They strive to prevent evil beings from coming to the surface." Lynch felt Zilvra’s hand in his arm tighten. "Even though you’re a little angel, it wouldn’t be good if they accidentally harmed you."
Soka listened to Lynch’s words, half-understanding. She was not yet at an age to immediately grasp such complex relationships. However, walking on the surface had its benefits: sweet berries from the bushes and mushrooms from the shadows fell into Soka and Nimo’s pockets. The little angel happily skipped from branch to branch. Even without using her wings, she was as agile as a squirrel. Although the dwarf Nimo only knew how to cook Underdark food, when it came to mushrooms, his culinary skills were already well practiced.
After crossing two small hills, a small lake appeared before everyone. The calm lake reflected the distant lush mountains. As a breeze passed, ripples blurred the reflections, making it difficult to distinguish where the water ended and the sky began. The small pebbles by the lakeside, washed to a perfect roundness, had a smooth feel better than rich gemstones, exciting the little angel tremendously. She crouched there, trying to choose her favorite, but was dazzled by the colorful stones.
Deluo moved several large rocks to form a temporary stove, and Felps gathered dry wood. Lynch originally wanted to catch some fish from the lake, but Zilvra clung to him, not wanting him to leave.
"It’s okay, let’s go together." The two of them stood by the lake, and the mage’s Powerful Wand waved in the air, creating a force wall at the bottom of the water.
By controlling his will, the force wall turned into a cage-like shape, which the mage raised upright with a wave. Water flowed out intentionally left small holes at the base of the force wall, leaving behind some large fish that couldn’t escape, falling into the mage’s hands.
Soka watched Lynch’s unique fishing method, letting out a giggle. She hopped over, helping the mage find one large fish and releasing the others back into the lake.
