Chapter 241: Episode 87 Matron_3
The moment the tower door opened, Lynch already sensed it. He dissuaded Zilvra, who wanted to help, asking her to look after the little angel. The mage walked alone, holding his Powerful Wand, to the first floor of the tower.
"Hello, Matron, your advisor Lynch greets you." The mage saw Batana’s appearance and knew she was unstable. Although he wasn’t sure how much strength this formidable woman still had, causing her to lose her composure first would naturally be best.
"Advisor? You dare to call yourself an advisor!" Batana looked at Lynch, a flame shooting towards him.
Lynch was already prepared and swung his wand. An Ice Cone met the flame, leaving a mist in the air that canceled each other out.
"Honored Matron, you never relieved me of my duties. I’m still waiting for the new Advisor Badge." Lynch kept smiling as if the previous attack hadn’t occurred at all, "I think if the badge is made of gold, it would certainly be very beautiful!"
"Lynch! You dare bring this up! You are an advisor! An advisor on how to destroy the First House! You are just a reptile, a vile worm, a shameless Spider Elf! You will not see the light of the Flash Gold Stone tomorrow! I will subject you to endless pain and torture!"
Lynch laughed twice: "Though a reptile now, I’m finally no longer the First House’s advisor. So, old woman, are you confident you can defeat me?"
"Hmph! Stop your lip service, do you think killing the ancient God of Prophecy allows you to contend with me?" Batana sneered, "No! Never possible! The Spider Goddess bestowed me immense strength, I’m her agent on earth!"
Kill the God of Prophecy? Lynch was momentarily stunned. At the time he left the sealed room, both he and the God of Prophecy were unscathed, so where did this talk of killing come from? It seemed Batana’s mind was already deranged—Lynch thought so.
"The power of the Spider Goddess is not that great." Lynch continued, "Remember Zarra, your eldest daughter? Didn’t she get turned into a Spider Elf by the Spider Goddess’s power? And now? Didn’t I turn her back to normal? God’s power? A joke!" Lynch continued to attack Batana’s will, "Do you know? Regula and Zarra have joined forces, they’re right behind you, ready to avenge you. Yes... just like that, a Dark Elf style of revenge!"
Batana hurriedly turned her head, but found nothing behind her. When she realized she had been tricked and faced Lynch again, a dazzling white light had already reached her.
Lynch used all his strength, with the silver floating Light Sphere continuously sending Magic Origin Energy to the Powerful Wand, the thick lightning swept towards the First Matron like a raging torrent.
Batana reflexively cast a Magic Invalid Barrier. The Lightning Spell lost its effect within this small barrier. Although Lynch kept outputting energy, not a single current existed within this barrier’s range.
"Mage! Has your brain gone rusty? Attacking in this situation?" Batana laughed out loud, "Let me pry open your skull to see what exactly is inside!"
"Honorable Matron Batana," Lynch still smiled, "I want to tell you something, something very important."
The mage deliberately paused.
"My lightning, it explodes."
Batana was directly blown away by the violent impact, as if struck in the chest by a battering ram used for breaching gates, not even having time to utter a groan, leaving a red trail of blood across the air as she flew straight out of the Black Crystal Tower’s window.
Lynch quickly ran outside, intending to knock the Drow’s Matriarch against the wall. The mage knew that as a High-level Priest, Batana surely had ways to heal herself; if careless, she might regain her strength. The next time might not offer a chance to catch her off guard.
Indeed, Batana still hadn’t died, lying on the ground, reaching out her right hand to the sky, spitting blood and saying: "Great Spider Goddess, your servant asks you, grant me the power of rebirth, I shall continue to glorify your majesty!"
"The Spider Goddess heard your prayer, young Matron, what do you want?" A neutral voice spoke in the First House’s Audience Room to Matron Briza, who was kneeling on the ground.
"I want to become the First Matron of Ratris City, I want Batana dead!" Briza said.
"What will you sacrifice?"
Briza drew a dagger, aimed it at her right hand, and slashed down. She turned this unbearable pain into a loud scream: "I offer the glory of my life to the great Spider Goddess!"
"Your sacrifice pleases the Spider Goddess..." That voice gradually faded away.
After chanting the Spell, Batana raised her right hand, waiting for Divine Power to descend and heal all her injuries. But in the end, her voice was merely the desperate cry of a dying person to the sky, without any power to heal her.
The First Matron struggled bitterly with her strong will, convinced this was the goddess’s test for her, and at any moment, divine grace would descend, allowing her to remain the First Matron, the strongest Dark Elf Priest.
By the time Lynch arrived, Matron Batana had already breathed her last, her hand still stiffly raised to the sky...
