Chapter 235: Episode 85 Chain_3

"Technically, the matron did not issue a kill order," Regula said. "But I know the matron better than you. When someone needs to be killed, she never hesitates. I merely expressed her thoughts."

"So, you’re forging orders?" Sinaphi asked.

"No, think about it. If something displeases her, even Zarra, your highly-favored sister, could be dealt with in just a word, couldn’t she?" Regula replied. "Who indeed has caused this change?"

After speaking, he fixed his gaze on Sinaphi’s eyes, concentrating intently on her. "I did not go to the Limb Temple, so I don’t know the situation there, but since you were aware of Zarra’s plan, you must have known what would happen there, right?"

"I wasn’t the one who turned her into a Spider Elf, what does that have to do with me?" Sinaphi replied, her eyes staring back defiantly at the Martial Monk. "Since you decided to kill Zilvra, why let her escape? Do you really think you can catch her attention that way? Dream on, in her heart, there’s only the shadow of that lowly surface human now!"

"You are neither Zarra nor Batana, you’re nothing at all, naturally having no right to question my intentions." The Martial Monk smiled, a relaxed and amiable smile that sparked a desire in Sinaphi to smile along with him.

"However, from earlier on, I couldn’t understand, how do you know about the Spider Elf?" The Martial Monk’s expression suddenly turned serious, his hands darting out of his sleeves, several slender steel spikes shot towards Sinaphi’s eyes. At the same time, he bent low, his legs propelling him like a spring. While the female Drow desperately defended against the incoming weapons, the Martial Monk’s right hand, like an Eagle Claw, had penetrated the Dark Elf’s chest, tearing open her ribs, gripping her heart.

"The biggest difference between you and Zarra is that you’re too stupid." The Martial Monk’s hand gradually squeezed tighter. The Dark Elf clasped Regula’s wrist with both hands, but no matter how much strength she used, she couldn’t pull his unyielding hand from her chest. Sinaphi breathed rapidly, but all that came from her mouth was a bloody froth. She looked despairingly at the Martial Monk’s face, unable to utter a word.

"Thank you for notifying those four fools that Matron Batana wanted to kill Zilvra. If not for this, how could I make Lynch owe me?" The Martial Monk clasped his hand tightly, and Sinaphi’s body slumped down.

"Just so you know, Zarra can’t personally kill you, the traitor, anymore. She’ll be very disappointed." Regula took a final glance at the room, wiped his hands with Sinaphi’s robe, and walked out at his leisure.

(For those readers who find the Underworld oppressive and dark, thank you. It’s your feelings that make me believe my writing is somewhat successful in conveying the essence of the Underdark—it is inherently dark and oppressive. Lighthearted matters, once reaching the surface, you will see.)

Ad time: My other book, "Forgotten Realm’s Mage", virtual reality genre, lighthearted and fun.

Once this book settles into the VIP section, I will resume the update pace for the virtual reality story. For now, let’s focus on pushing "The Mage Story" as the main task.

If you suffer from a lack of books to read, you can check out that virtual reality story to temporarily quench your thirst (however, I suspect that book may have even more demands for updates than this one...).
