Chapter 200: Episode 72 Double Battle_4

However, the flying crossbow bolt still caused a disturbance in the air, and the Martial Arts Master immediately sensed something was wrong. Reflexively, he tilted his head, dodging the swiftly shooting crossbow bolt.

Deluo saw the signal for attack and was the first to charge. The Half-Beastman Mep followed closely behind him.

Regula smiled slightly and threw the Unextinguishable torch onto the wall. The long-unmaintained underground tunnels had inevitably become loose and weak. The torch stuck into it, continuing to illuminate.

Nimo reacted immediately, releasing the string of his repeating crossbow, sending a flock of crossbow bolts flying towards the Martial Arts Master.

Regula exclaimed, "What an amazing repeating crossbow! It can shoot so many at once!" While speaking, his hands didn’t stay idle. As he retreated, his hands moved in front of him like a barrier so quickly that even shadows were hardly visible. By the time he stopped, he had confiscated all the bolts that the Little Dwarf had shot.

The Priest Joe chanted a spell, intending to cast a blessing spell on his companions. Seeing this, Regula immediately flung the crossbow bolts in his hand at the Priest. Though the bolts didn’t have the same force as when shot by Nimo, the Priest still had to raise his shield to block them. With the clinking sound of impacts, Joe wasn’t harmed, but his spell had been interrupted.

Deluo’s double-headed sword descended towards Regula’s head with thunderous momentum, as he shouted to raise his momentum, "Meet your end, you Martial Monk!"

Regula didn’t step back but instead stepped forward half a pace towards the direction of the Half-Beastman. Deluo diverted the blade slightly but still precisely targeted the enemy’s head.

The Martial Monk raised his hands, crossing his wrists to grip Deluo’s sword-wielding hand. With a sudden turn, combined with the rotational force of his wrists, he changed the direction of the double-headed sword.

At that moment, the Half-Beastman’s large knife also descended but happened to strike Deluo’s sword. The two strong men were effectively at a stalemate, their wrists numbed by each other’s brute force. Both gritted their teeth, determined not to let their weapons slip from their grasp.

But the Martial Monk was already prepared, reaching his hands towards both warriors’ weapons, intending to disarm them. Sensing the unfavorable situation, Deluo quickly twisted his waist, using the rotational force from spinning in place to move his arms, allowing the double-headed sword to still move even without wrist strength, acting as a barrier in front of the Martial Monk.

Regula smiled and withdrew a hand. However, the Half-Beastman didn’t have Deluo’s reflexes. He only knew to guard his knife with brute strength, yet Regula used a wonderful technique to disarm him.

The Martial Monk intended to immediately strike the Half-Beastman, but he suddenly detected a sound behind him. Quickly turning his head, he saw a Halfling lunging forward with a dagger, the blade burning with fierce flames—a sure sign of a specially crafted Advanced Magic Weapon.

Even taken by surprise, the Martial Monk reacted in an instant, swiftly dodging to the side and preventing the dagger from hitting vital points. Wandering William lunged, leaving a wound on the Martial Monk’s waist, staining Regula’s gray robe red.

Though the Martial Arts Master didn’t avoid the surprise attack, he managed to mitigate the major damage. He raised the hand he had just withdrawn from Deluo’s weapon and struck the Halfling on the head.

William was sent flying, landing in the mud. Though he wasn’t killed, the Martial Monk’s Shock Break knocked him out cold, making him the first to withdraw from the fight.

Stoneleg’s second crossbow arrow also flew over, but the Martial Arts Master, having been on guard, used the crescent blade he had disarmed from the Half-Beastman to deflect the shot. Caught unprepared, the Dwarf Warrior Gongragan couldn’t defend in time and was hit by the stray shot. The poison acted immediately; if not for the Dwarf’s natural strong resistance against poison, he would have perished instead of merely being paralyzed all over while still standing upright, propped up on the ground.

Deluo gradually regained control over his wrists during his spinning motion and continued attacking Regula. The Martial Monk easily circled behind the Half-Beastman, using Mep’s massive physique as a temporary barrier to shield against Deluo’s double-headed sword.

Yet the Half-Beastman wasn’t easy to bully. He roared, his eyes turning blood red, veins bulging, muscles swelling like balloons. He pulled out another spare crescent blade from his back and slashed at the Martial Monk with all his might. In his mind now was only "Attack, attack!"

"Oh wow! There’s another weapon!" The Martial Monk joked lightly as he spoke, his expression also relaxed, but he was quite wary of the Half-Beastman’s fighting style. A berserk Barbarian’s strikes were completely unpatterned, driven entirely by instinct, posing significant challenges for the Martial Monk defensively. He had to focus entirely, completely drawn and limited by each of the Half-Beastman’s strikes.

Deluo’s spinning blade also closed in, reducing the Martial Monk’s space to maneuver. Now, he could only rely on his agile skills, hiding behind the Half-Beastman, using Mep’s body to delay the warrior’s attack.

Nimo finally re-strung his repeating crossbow, raised it, aiming at the Martial Monk who was dodging around. He’s been waiting for an opportunity; as long as Deluo and Mep created a bit of space, he’d strike.

Gradually, Deluo gained the upper hand, syncing with the Martial Monk’s combat rhythm. Given just a little more time, he was confident he could force the Martial Monk into Mep’s blade.

But on the Martial Monk’s face, there wasn’t a hint of panic, only a smile of assured victory.

"Watch your back!" Stoneleg shouted in panic, pointing towards the underground tunnel.
