Chapter 195: Episode 71 Divine Staff_2

Lynch listened to the Great Mage’s words but couldn’t fully comprehend them. Today, Mage Vizren appeared somewhat strange, as if burdened with a heavy load, the immense pressure making him look very haggard. If it weren’t for his substantial power as support, the old mage would have long crumbled under such overwhelming pressure.

Soka couldn’t understand a word the Old Dark Elf said, and that magic staff didn’t interest her at all. The little angel was immensely excited, sitting on the soft magic carpet, watching the giant metallic sphere beneath her feet constantly transform between liquid and solid states.

"Master Vizren, what do you intend to achieve with these words? Please speak frankly." Lynch smiled, "Though I’m also a mage and know the importance of maintaining an air of mystery, I’m not very fond of speaking in riddles."

"Lynch, you are the most gifted mage I’ve ever encountered, and your abilities are strong. I can see that, up to now, you haven’t realized your true power," Vizren thought for a moment, then finally spoke, "I want you to do something which isn’t difficult. I need you to be at this location when the Flash Gold Stone on the Black Crystal Tower emits sunlight-like radiance. I need your spellcasting abilities to assist me. If you can do that, I will completely give you the Prophetic God Staff."

Lynch reflected and smiled, declining the Great Mage, "Mr. Vizren, you just said you’ve realized the limitations of the Prophetic God Staff, and I too recently grasped the true meaning of this wand. Besides, I’ve never been particularly interested in obtaining this staff. I just want answers to a few trivial questions." Lynch glanced at the Dark Elf City beneath his feet. It seemed like a prison, shielding from external threats but also imprisoning all its inhabitants. He continued, "Mage Vizren, you are a powerful mage, and I don’t understand why you would need my strength. However, I must responsibly caution you. When the energy I use comes into contact with that of other mages, it will only cause others to be blown sky-high. So the plan to utilize my power is inherently unfeasible."

A slight drowsiness began to creep into Lynch’s mind, and the mage knew he had to rest. He stood up and nodded to the old mage as a sign of respect, "Master Vizren, is there anything else you need from me?"

"Even if you don’t agree to come here, you will still be here at that time." The old mage glanced at the Prophetic Wand on the ground, "Additionally, my apprentice was the one who cast magic on you last time, and it seems you’ve already taught him a good lesson. His refusal to listen to me is his own fault, but it doesn’t change the loss I’ve suffered from losing an apprentice." The old mage chuckled and continued, "Ratris City has always been a place shrouded in darkness, both past and present, and it certainly will be in the future. You, coming from the surface, don’t belong here. Why not take what you’ve always wanted and leave?"

After saying this, the Prophetic Wand gently floated to Lynch’s side, quietly resting against his Powerful Wand.

"Having already given you one wand, I can give you a second." Mage Vizren said, "With this wand, you’ll know what you should do."

This wasn’t the first time the old mage had acted contradictorily, as his thoughts and stance often wavered. Lynch looked at the staff before him, contemplated for a moment, and finally decided to take it.

The Prophetic God Staff was not heavy, feeling just like an ordinary stick, easily grasped by the mage.

Vizren pointed at the Black Crystal Tower beneath his feet, speaking to Lynch, "Now this tower is completely open to you, and you can safely rest here. Regain your strength, as you will still come here when the time comes."

After speaking, the old mage leapt off the high tower, disappearing into the pitch-black cave with the aid of a flying spell.

Lynch, accompanied by little Soka, descended into the tower’s interior. He could hardly believe his eyes. The Prophetic God Staff he’d long desired was now within easy reach, ready for him to use at any moment.

However, the more accessible it became, the more Lynch dared not wield the power of this divine artifact. He kept stroking the patterns on the staff, looking at this long staff carved from Iron Wood, indecisive.

Little Soka stood to one side, tilting her head as she watched Lynch. After a while, she couldn’t help but ask, "Black-robed brother, just how long are we going to stand here?"
